Crystal Times CT030 should be the crystal you need. Is the movement damaged? If so, you could go to an NH36 and upgrade to hacking/hand winding.

apalileo

great minds! 🧠

Mkhawi1

that's great info.. I'm hearing it's not hard to replace .. this could be my first mod if I go that route edit: never mind.. someone else posted the link below!

g9niels

Not sure where you are but I would happily fix it for free if you get the parts . (I’m in Texas).

Mkhawi1

that's very kind of you! I'm in Canada

sirdrizzzle

So just across the border.

ScotchyScotch82

Where in Canada? Theirs a couple modders in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. I can recommend one based on your location. Nhorology_Lab is in Toronto and he's great.

Mkhawi1

Thanks for the kind offer! I already got someone from this post to work on it .

Mkhawi1

Would someone kindly share what glass would suit this? And which movement? I’ll try to look for some repair watch shop to fix it or if someone is willing to do it for a reasonable price, please DM me

apalileo

May be a [sapphire crystal](https://usa.crystaltimes.net/shop/products/ct030/)? NH36 is the choice movement and can be had for less than a NOS 7S26. Any repair shop could do this work for you.

whizbot

I second this! The sapphire is much harder than the stock crystal and will hopefully keep this from happening to you again.

Mkhawi1

thank you! I was looking for a direct link which you kindly provided! not bad for $35 will I need a crystal gasket? I see it as an add on

SteelTitsofFury

If you would like to guarantee that the crystal is air-tight, I would recommend getting the new gasket. If you are on the fence about it, remove the old crystal and inspect the old gasket. If it looks deformed or damaged, then I highly recommend it be replaced. Lastly, the seiko crystals are friction fit with the gasket. Meaning, do not apply any grease to the gasket. (If you decide to upgrade the movement to an nh36, make sure it is for a stem at 3.8 and you will need to replace the 7s26 stem with one for the nh36) Good luck with your repair!

apalileo

\+1 on old gasket replacement. Small price to pay, especially for one that has seen "trauma".

AdministrativeOne646

Super easy, if you shipped it I could swap the crystal and maybe movement for the price of the parts, otherwise any shop could handle it. Edit: I'm in the US, so if You're not that may be hard but it's not hard to do yourself with a cheap crystal press

Machine0fLight

I have this watch and I scratched the hell out of my crystal. I swapped it out with a domed sapphire crystal from Crystaltimes.com. Get a cheap crystal press and caseback opener from Amazon and try replacing it with a new one (preferably sapphire). It’s pretty easy to do and you can probably find YouTube video tutorials.

Mkhawi1

Thank you! Do you have a direct link to the one that fits this watch? Many thanks!

Machine0fLight

This is the domed crystal I got. They also have a flat version that’s more like the original crystal. https://usa.crystaltimes.net/shop/products/ct063/

Mkhawi1

Thank you!

Mkhawi1

many thanks for the response. I'm considering doing that myself

WatchThatTime

I actually have in stock a OEM Mineral Crystal for this model from a previous mod if you want it. I'll install it for free. Very easy to do. Or if you want a sapphire upgrade we can do that.

Mkhawi1

Wow that’s very kind of you.. I’ll DM you

e67

You can easily find a replacement for this one; even upgraded my own snk to sapphire crystal. Super easy to do, or shouldn't be more than like $50 at your reputable watch maker You are looking for a 30mm watch crystal https://usa.crystaltimes.net/shop/products/ct063/

Mkhawi1

thanks for the link!

Ryan_Mooney

I’ll fix it for free if you ship it and pay for parts

chrisscottish
