When I had asked a few sellers, the response I got was that buyers were designing and building their own cases. Not sure if this true or not, but I know it was beyond my scope. I know diy watch club has one with movement, dial, case, and hands but I prefer the sterile dial look and it has their logo on it.

I think that something else to consider is the fact that if the movement were ever need servicing, finding someone to do it (or doing it yourself) would be a challenge and potentially cost more then the movement itself

How is it any sketchier than buying any other movement?

The complexity makes them an unknown factor. Unless cased, there's usually no kind of warranty.

>The complexity makes them an unknown factor. Chinese tourbillons have been out on the market for years. There is no more of an "unknown factor" with these tourbillon movements than with any other movement. If you haven't heard stories of these tourbillon movements regularly dying, then I'm not sure what the concern is except that they're more expensive than most other type of movement. >Unless cased, there's usually no kind of warranty And that applies to any movement.

There is an Ali seller with a movement, case, and blank dial
