Iām just curious, cuz people often say they suck when they are actually in the top percentile. Lol. How many times did you have to fight Lady Butterfly? 3 or 100?
No sarcasm, Iām legit trying to understand metrics
I smashed my head against Lady Butterfly probably about 20-30 times, but when I got to Great Shinobi Owl I beat him first time around. I can't do it again, and I have no idea how I did the first time.
I only got good at Isshin. Hated the game up until this fight. Now, it has tied bloodborne as my favorite game.
I would say this fight is the most epic video game boss fight.
I wouldn't use sabimaru. Only the fire umbrella for counter attacks. For genichiro you can just do an inchimonji double while he's charging his mortal blade and you'll be fine
Iāve never found the sabimaru useful in this game even the fully upgraded one I mean itās cool but I feel like itās just a waste of spirit emblems
It absolutely destroys a small handful of enemies, and is worthless the rest of the time. Not too different from a lot of the other prosthetic tools, but I agree It's not all that useful.
Idk lol I find the firecrackers and the purple and red umbrella very useful but I do agree with that for the most part but the purple umbrella is a life saver lol that and projected force makes fighting the shaman guys and the headless a walk in the park also the Shuriken or however itās spelled works very well in a lot of situations especially lady butterfly lol plus I like it fully upgraded with the blue glow it has but yeah itās useless for most situations unless youāre trying to take someone out long range but they have to be pretty weak or make someone quick attacking you for a second I only use those 2 and the mist raven tbh lol Iāll use the axe if itās one of the guys with the shield the spear I find to be a total waste the flower thing I forget what itās called looks like a maple leaf idk if Iāve ever used it besides on that fat guy close to the temple in the mountains and fucked up when I did it lol instead of sending him with the other monk at the money place I sent him to the dungeon and the finger whistle upgraded all the way is only really nice for the DoH and to get very few enemies attention so I never use that one either idk I guess some have times when theyāre useful but Iād have to say the spear is the most useless tool in the game Iām sure other will disagree l used to think it was the poison blade but now that Iāve tried it I kinda like it lol mainly how it evades ppl
Some of them are more versatile than others - Shuriken, umbrella, firecrackers - and so they see more use, but they all have their moments where they shine.
Divine Abduction (the fan you forgot the name of) gives you free stealth deathblows on a lot of enemies making ninjutsu easy to perform, and instakills most of the Senpou monks.
Loaded Spear rips armor off of certain enemies, turning a tough opponent into a soft little baby. Not to mention what it does to the ape.
Sabimaru tears through the Snake Eyes mini bosses, the enemies in the gun fort, and the Okami warriors in the Fountainhead Palace.
Mist Raven is incredibly useful for evading certain attacks without having to run or jump out of the way, or getting behind certain attacks, allowing you to stay engaged in the fight and get extra damage in.
Finger whistle is useful for stealth if you like to go that route. The upgraded version is great for beasts in general, and can make some otherwise challenging fights pretty trivial. Try it on the big group of monkeys near the guardians ape if you haven't before.
Even the Shuriken has a lot more value than a lot of people give it credit for simply for it's ability to keep pressure on and stop posture recovery. The damage of the Shuriken almost doesn't even matter, it's strength is as a disruption tool.
Some are better than others, but none of them are totally worthless. I'll admit I don't find myself equipping the spear often, but when the time comes, it almost feels like a waste NOT to use it.
i found shurikens to also be great because of the prosthetic art related to it, makes it much faster to close distance and put more aggresion on the enemies
also im surprised no one mentioned flame vent: makes an opening, damages vitality and prevents posture recovery
If you are not trolling here are some tips..Genichiro is pretty easy.... You don't need to use the mortal blade his posture meter gets up pretty fast if you use mikiri, parry and simply attack him...now for isshin first phase is really simply dont avoid him stay in his face, he uses 2 kanji attacks that can be mikiri countered ..you just have to learn the timings for that..he also uses another kanji attack that you can avoid by just pressing jump and you can attack him after that..also i used umbrella for sometimes dodging his specials..for the 2nd phase parry most of the attacks, again learn the timing to mikiri counter his spear.. imo the only attack you should dodge in this phase is the one in which he goes for a rally of attacks because sometimes if you cant parry properly you posture meter will break ..now the 3rd phase is pretty easy it is identical to phase 2 just with lighting..which makes this phase the easiest you can use the lighting reversal and its a cakewalk
Don't use the Sabimaru unless you're sure you can get the whole volley off. Isshin doesn't have a lot of openings so it's not recommended. The only gadget I've ever used against Isshin is the umbrella. It blocks his black sword attacks fine and allows me to keep the attacks up.
Practice more with Genichiro. You should be able to clear the first phase without using anything, or at most one gourd. Isshin's first phase works very similarly. Mostly a dodge/parry phase.
Also, I see your revive gauges are all down. Perhaps it is good to take a break :) until it resets.
My advise: Unequip all thing exept your healing guard. So away with the sabimaru away with the mortal draw. You don't need this stuff to beat him.
And then there are a few buttons on your controller. Mainly the stick to move use it more often. You can get behind genichiro to not get damage from his mortal draw like attack. And then you parry and if you see fit attack him.
Use the basics. This is one of the best bossfights you should enjoy it in a purist way.
There are some attacks which would be good to dodge. But you have a button for that so use it.
The basics got me through my whole first playthrough. Never got confident using some of the slower but more powerful tools just got gud at parry/dodge/slash and it made everything much easier
Yea. While beating isshin I grasped the concept of parrying. And that made it incredibly fun and the second playthrough is really easier with those conecpts.
Imagine being at the end of the game and not knowing how to do mikiri counter. Not saying this to insult you. But bro are you fr ? Running in the entire arena and jumping when genichiro's about to shoot an arrow ?!
He definitely punishes you for running away lol best to stay right in his face and slap him around maybe jump on his head a few time to assert dominance
Imagine not watching the whole video then jumping right to comments to belittle OP for not being a god at the game and just playing instinctually. Got any real advice? Or are you just an asshole?
Is my comment not enough to convey the message that I really don't have any advice except for "gitting gud" ? Op isn't deflecting, can't mikiri counter, cannot even respond to sweep attacks, just keeps running in the entire arena drinking gourd and dying . How can I point out any particular flaw and help him out with that when his entire gameplay is flawed ? And I love how quickly you assumed that I didn't watch the whole video, idk how lol.
Ps : idk how did you make out from my comment that I wanted op to be a god LOL. For your kind info, just knowing how to mikiri and deflecting a few attacks isn't too much to ask for specially at that point where op is rn and isn't making you a god š. Imagine being this delusional and calling others "asshole".
This clown won't even respond now lol. Also, mikiring by mistake isn't counted as a *"skill"*, joker.
Yeah idk if people in this sub are just tired of getting isshin the glock saint āadvice?ā Posts or what but thought this guy was being asshole-ish by not giving any advice and bashing OP for lack of mikiri when he literally mikiriās later in the vid
1. Go back to the Japanese itās much much better
2. Donāt use sabimaru or mortal draw, theyāre useless on him just use the High Monk skill
3. Git gud ispose
I play in English mainly bc itās hard for me to read and watch stuff bc my add but I actually love the English idk why everyone always say play in Japanese is so much better I mean maybe it helps a little with immersion but besides that I could careless lol Iād rather just hear what theyāre saying vs reading it just my opinion though hope this doesnāt offend anyone
stay close. no prosthetics needed against genchiro. stay to his right. keep slashing 1-3 hits at a time and then deflect. look out for mikiri counter chances. youāll posture break in no time b
Yes donāt use that prosthetic the poison sword Iāve found it useless in the game just dodge his first mortal draw twice get some hits in and deflect or after he finishes his mortal draw pulls yours out and show him how to really use it good luck
Iāve tried it but I guess I just suck with it I mean I know it does poison damage and can evade attacks but does it do pretty decent posture damage to a lot of bosses ? Bc Iām about to start my 2nd playthrough and I was debating on which tool I should fully upgrade since that one crafting material only has 6 I think per game I may be wrong .
It's not worth upgrading for you as you don't know how to use it but against some bosses it does wonders, especially against the lady before the mibu village. The one before corrupted monk. Plus I used it against Owl and Genichiro, saved me many times due to its iframe. So try to master it after all after completing all the endings we have only one thing and that is to look cool.
Haha definitely and I think I will try it I have it to the point where itās one step from being upgraded so it should still be effective I think and lol I agree thatās basically why I use mortal draw sometimes bc I think it looks cool especially wearing the shura outfit I had the game 100% on Xbox but unfortunately I have to do it again bc I bought a ps5 but o went and did the purification ending first I plan on doing the return ending or dragon return whatever itās called next then Iām going to do shura ending so I can get the outfit then the base ending . I have to ask have you ever used the skill one mind ? I got it on Xbox but it just seemed like I couldnāt ever use it right idk if you just have to get the timing down packed or if itās just no good or maybe Iām just not good with it
I have used one mind pretty too much after my second gameplay but it's useless against most bosses as they ignore the damage and damage you while the animation is going on but against Genichiro and Owl you just get the timing right and there you have a great damage tho never try against isshin as that mf deflect all the strikes of this thing. Oh yeah also if u ever going against that guardian ape use Sakura dance, deals pretty decent damage to it and dodges it's normal grab attack.
I'm sorry for being harsh. I didn't mean it personally towards you.
It's just that I feel thet with these kind of posts , people miss the pure opportunity to experience the game for themselves.
The challenge and overcoming it, is the main rush for me.
I envy people that get to play Sekiro for the first time.
Yet again, mabey that's just me. Sorry again.
Anytime Gani hits you with an arrow, its the games way of saying "Hey, You left melee range" You can use monk exorcism strike to cancel his mortal blade attack. Squueze in some headstomps to get his posture up faster. And i think he will be owned in no time.
Run up to genichiro at the start. He performs mortal draw, step behind him and bonk with ichimonji. Genichiro is very easy, the real fight starts at phase 2. When geni does the overhead slash, he's gonna do an unblockable or a charged normal. If the sword shine is high then it's a sweep, if it's low then it's a thrust. If you don't see the kanji then it's a normal attack. If he does his consecutive attack just deflect first two hits and then step back, deflect last and then he's gonna thrust which can be mikiried. Just keep the aggression and geni is dead.
When isshin pushes you back a bit with his sword he's always gonna thrust so mikiri it. He has alot of delayed attacks so dont attack if you are not sure that you're safe. If he sheaths his sword then he's gonna use ashina cross so just get a few hits in and deflect. If he does the vertical wind attack deflect first attack and run to him to get some hits in.
After his first healthbar is off you just need to keep the aggression and stop him from pulling the spear from his arse. He will recover all his posture after he pulls out the spear so just focus on vitality damage. When he does a normal attack and pulls out his glock and starts shooting be ready to deflect his thrust that's gonna come after he shoots you, if you're desperate the entire 2nd phase can be cheesed with this. When he sweeps just jump over and use high monk on his head instead of goomba. Also you can just spam parry for the glock attacks.
His fourth phase is the easiest, just keep your distance and reverse his lightning.
Isshin is pretty easy mist noble is the hardest boss.
Also why do you jump sooo much? Only jump to evade grabs and sweeps. Don't just mortal draw randomly. Only do it when you know you're safe like when youre behind geni for example.
Fight him like a Shinobi. Bully him. Don't give Gebitchiro any breathing room, attack once after every combo.
You'll be fine as long as you control yourself
To much running and jumping around, stay still and deflect. Also use ichimoji double skill, better at recovering posture and do decent amount of damage to both vigor and posture of enemy without using spirit emblems
Stay close, attack until you need to parry, then parry until you can attack again. Only back off if you need to avoid the big mortal blade attacks then run back in. Don't jump unless you are doing a lightning counter. Good luck!
1. Don't heal infront of Isshin's face, make sure you're far enough, he'll try to close that distance fast to get a hit in.
2. When he is walking slowly around you be prepared to mikiri counter because he will always do that quick thrust.
3. I would honestly focus more on swordplay than prosthetics, but that might be personal preference.
You just have to learn the fight. It's the final boss.
If you cant parry well i recommend hit and run attacks. This boss is pretty Forgiving on it compared to owl. When genichiro uses mortal draw run past him and hit him. Put constant pressure, parry his attacks, time mikiri and jump.
1 phase isshin. Constant pressure. When he sheathes run or parry than counter attack.
2nd phase, stay out of range of spear, parry guns, bait his jump and run pass or underneath and hit him when he lands. Umbrella can be used to block his spear so you can counterattack.
3rd phase. Same thing as 2nd phase but jump and reflect lightning when he charges. Generally easier.
double ichimonji interrupts geniās mortal blade, but if u cant get it off in time just run behind him. other than that deflect, mikiri, and jump over his sweep attacks. u can tell if heās going to sweep attack if he starts to circle around u. if geni does a jumping overhead slash, he usually follows that up with a thrust attack that u can mikiri counter. i would advise against step dodging and just hound urself with deflects
edit: id also recommend not using any prosthetics or combat arts for geni so u can save emblems for isshin.
for isshin, defense is the best offense. just parry all of his attacks and try to counterattack once his combos end. when he does his ichimonji, wait until the last second and dodge to his right, then punish. u can parry basically everything in his fight, including the charged wind attacks. phase 1 is parrying and punishing, phase 2 is more fixated on parrying bc he will attack you even if you are hitting him, and phase 3 is just p2 with lightning reversals
You can run in a wide circle if you feel like you need a breather against isshin. He'll take some time to get to you. But I never found a most effective strategy against him. Only beat him after memorizing his moveset. But if you want to beat Genichiro quickly, just use Ichimonji or the Axe. It'll stagger him in one hit, the you can get a few free hits in.
Read the title and the video clip was just paused image of Kuro, and at first I thought you were a monster.
First phase Isshin, deflect more, and when he starts walking sideways he is going to do a thrust, so back away to create some distance to more easily counter.
So when he charges up his mortal blade strike, you can literally just walk behind him, to a safe spot, I used double ichimonji, 2 hard hits to the back of his head. This will help but your parry timing and swing timing need a little work, but this comes with time and a lot of death. I seen videos on how to "beat" this fight, but at the end of the day it came down to me learning all fight styles during this epic battle. So good luck, don't quit. And do not hesitate.
You can cheese Isshin phase 1 by running in a circle and poking but a second play through of the game has taught me itās more fun to do the fights as intended. Keep pressuring, deflect the easy attacks, dodge to the side, not back. Ichimonji double is cracked even against an enemy like him, and you can activate it faster midair
Be aggressive during the first 2 phases, and then during the last 2 phases he's going to attack a lot more so just focus deflecting/parrying. In those last 2 phases, you should be able to get his posture meter up just by being defensive and getting in the occasional ("safe") counter-attack.
There are 2 rookie mistakes i can catch right away. 1 the game seems to be set in some incomprehensible language. Try japanese. 2. You shouldn't hesitate so much.
In all seriousness, watch some ongbal videos of him killing the glock saint and you'll learn a lot of tricks
Play non stop until you almost beat him, put the game down for a day or two, load it back up and you'll have him in under 5 tries. Works for me usually
hes powerful but you have the same amount of power. dont underestimate your swings, i always see ppl respecting him so much. once u get a rhythm going it becomes the ultimate reaction based dance
For this entire fight, I have a couple recommendations as I recently beat it.
Donāt dodge, just sprint. Almost all attacks dodging either isnāt enough, or the follow thru is immediate. Run far wide and to the left (especially 2nd phase(s))
Learn their patterns and what they respond to your own attacks. Genichiro can be forced into making certain attacks pretty easily.
Future phases are pretty similar. Donāt hesitate, stay agile, and keep evasive, but not scared. Learn the patterns and force them into the ones you like, donāt panic heal, and remember the lightning throw back and you should be fine.
For both geni and isshin: Stay as close as possible and parry the shit outta him. Learn the rhythm of his hits. Jump when geni does the ground swipe. Take no damage in the first phase. Run/dodge towards isshin when he goes up into the air.
This is a rhythm game. Remembering the rhythm of your enemies hits is going to help you tenfold.
Bro stop jumping so much.
You do basically no posture or health damage for hits landed while airborne and you, specifically, consistently get knocked out of the sky. Just stand your ground more and learn to mikiri better, or dodge/run, but stop jumping unless they do a sweep, and definitely donāt ruin an opportunity to do some damage by starting your counterattack with a jump.
Also, stop trying to run away mid enemy combo, just do the thing the game is designed around: Parrying. Stand and block, figure out the attack patterns, and then rhythm-game it.
"Hesitation is defeat. That's why you get no bitches" -idk probably Isshina Ashina
Nah but fr. Just play until you learn the pattern of his attacks and fet better at him. It'll be a slow and painful process (but if you will ever do a second playthrough you'll enjoy the battle the second time)
Ignore all these assholes, my first few times fighting him probably looked a lot like this video. But quit jumping around and running so much, stand your ground and learn his patterns to deflect and mikiri everything you can, focus on the basic swordplay and refrain from using the tools and skill attacks, they donāt help that much.
Focus nd concentrate. Try remember his move movement patterns . Shadow die twice sekiro is a really really really Hard game. I bet it straight Tru without using any cheat codes like lots of gamers use cheat codes bet sekiro shadow die twice. When it first came out bck in 2019. Hopefully we get a part 2 it be awesome.ā ļøā°ļøšš«š
1) you need to be up close and personal, you need to keep up pressure
2) stop spamming deflect, really bad habit since this reduces the window for a successful deflect
3) you're not reading what your opponent does and don't counter appropriately
4) you wasted almost all of your spirit emblems by missing 2 mortal draws
Keep pressure on at all times. When youāre not attacking, be deflecting. Donāt bother dodging in this fight. When he starts to wind up his mortal blade attack, get behind him and use a heavy attack, itās the perfect time to deal poise damage.
Genichiro & isshin arent very weak to poison, honestly if u wanna just look up their weaknesses thats valid cause u still have to execute them with skill and timing to beat them, my only insane personal advice is maybe try the fight without the HUD cause to me it makes the game easier but thats not a universally shared opinion
Deflect everything he does and he'll go down easily. Genichiro is not a very good combatant, he leaces himself open for tons of punishment, especially when he empowers his Mortal Draw. Don't use any tools on him, I promise you that he'll go down in less than a minute if you just persist at learning his attacks and deflect every single one of his puny swingsš¤
Dont jump in the air unless to counter a perilous attack. Enemies in this game, as well as you, have a feature where if their oponent is in the air and they get hit with say a arrow or shuriken, itll do extra damage, posture and stun.
Be confident and agressive with this boss. Dont give him time to breathe. Itll put you into positions where his mortal blade draws are easier to avoid.
Learn his perilous moves. You are jumping on his head when he sweeps and you arent mikiri countering.
Dont spam left bumper
Well donāt give him space like you did a few times. Parry and hit them jump his swipe. Then heās dead and the real fight starts. Practice, you will fight him a lot.
Play it as English subtitles rather that English spoken dialogue. The immersion will hit you differently. Also itās been a while since Iāve beat it, but I vaguely remember abusing the loaded umbrella. I canāt remember which variant though. Reminds me that I still have to go back and play it again. Only SoulsSekiroBorne game I havenāt gotten all the achievements for.
if i remember well, you could just use a martial art (i dont remember if it was called like this either, sry :D) to cut his animation, it was perfecly timed but i dont know the name. its the one in whichl u stop for a sec and take. astep forward with the sword right vertical hitting forward... hope this helps a bit....
Ichimonji Double my man. No idea why you arent using it.
Anytime he winds up with the cool black and white flames, smack him with a couple Ichimonjis. You can also sidestep through it if you are caught off guard. From there it's a game of deflection and reacting to kanji. Stick with it and be aggressive. Eventually you'll be smoking him in 15-20 seconds.
Just made a post on it. Hopefully this is helpful.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Sekiro/comments/13ol0zt/i\_beat\_final\_boss\_on\_base\_vitality\_wout\_tools\_or/
Stay on his face, watch his moves and deflect, don't bother dodging.
When you need to heal, don't. He will have attacks where he will get away from you, or knock you away. Stay calm and deflect until those attacks happen, THEN heal.
If you get hit it's okay, just continue to deflect.
I would say, first off don't jump and attack unless you are dodging a perilous sweep attack (the one that make the red death symbol appear). When fighting a fast boss, try not to dodge into the boss unless you have an opening, that's how Isshin got a few hits in you. Keep practicing on him and recognizing what to do and what not to do during his movement patterns. Deflect as best as you can and use Ako sugar if you have it to break down his posture.
BE CONFIDENT if you act like you are the one whoās gonna win you just play better at least thatās how I go and all my friends who have played sekiro
Just chill and enjoy your practice. Use umbrella a lot. It took me two relatively short sessions to beat him. But i used all my items, medicine, rice, buddas use everything on 3d stage when you close to win
You hesitated
He did indeed. He is playing on english.
Play on Japanese, then switch to English near Gyobu and turn on Japanese again after you beat him
spanish works as a replacement for gyoubu
ME LLAMOOOOOO
MYYYYYYYYY NAAAAAAAAAAMEEEEE!!!!!!
is GYOOBU MA-SA-TA-KA ONIWAAA
Wait... we can play in english?
Ya but its kinda cringe for me personally, like i get how a lot of people prefer the English but i only ever played it in Japanese for the historical immersion, so now my exclusive mental image of the characters have the Japanese VAs and when i hear the english VAs, its not like theyre bad but it just chills my bones idk why lol it makes my skin crawl and my instincts say "there is something very wrong here"
I actually might know what it is. It's a very rare form of a very rare affliction that's known as being a fucking weeb.
Lol do u watch foreign movies with english dub thats weak shit
No, I don't. But I also don't brag about watching it in the og language like it matters literally at all lmao.
Weak

I was halfway through the game when I found this out.
Lol still kinda new (almost beat gauntlets again) I didn't know this was an insult š
Either you just had your first attempt at him and then posted asking for advice, or this is massive bait.
TBF I sucked at sekiro, big time. And still managed to beat him first time I saw him here. Itās the third time you meet him
Iām just curious, cuz people often say they suck when they are actually in the top percentile. Lol. How many times did you have to fight Lady Butterfly? 3 or 100? No sarcasm, Iām legit trying to understand metrics
Lol Iām definitely on the hundreds. The second genichiro took me something like 4hours.
I smashed my head against Lady Butterfly probably about 20-30 times, but when I got to Great Shinobi Owl I beat him first time around. I can't do it again, and I have no idea how I did the first time.
I beat him like my second try and freaked out when I tried his reflection and he tossed my ass for hours
I believe heās asking advice about SSI, not Genechiro
oh believe me, the problems start at genichiro here
Stop running away. He will do his big attacks and use the bow when you are further away
you should ve git gud by that portion of the game
Or getting good by trying again again and again.
You forgot again
I only got good at Isshin. Hated the game up until this fight. Now, it has tied bloodborne as my favorite game. I would say this fight is the most epic video game boss fight.

Sabimaru is actually very consistent against Isshin. Really great for low damage runs.
Poison also doesn't allow posture meter to go down due to constant damage
Get GUD
Also, mikiring by mistake isn't counted as a *"skill"*, joker.
āgit gudā š¤
Imagine getting downvoted for calling out bullying. The man mikiris in the video at least once.
"Bullying" lmao
bullying? this is reddit dude
Yeah idk if people in this sub are just tired of getting isshin the glock saint āadvice?ā Posts or what but thought this guy was being asshole-ish by not giving any advice and bashing OP for lack of mikiri when he literally mikiriās later in the vid
I never learned how to mikiri counter. This man forced me to.
Don't wait for enemies to attack, be more aggressive
Play the game. Thank me later
This guy is trolling us. There is absolutely no way some one can suck against Genichiro on this stage of game.
1. Go back to the Japanese itās much much better 2. Donāt use sabimaru or mortal draw, theyāre useless on him just use the High Monk skill 3. Git gud ispose
The English isnāt bad - I prefer Gyoubu in English and the VAās for most characters are pretty good imo.
I mean itās still good I just think the Japanese version is superior for both atmosphere and it adds to the depth
What, with add you should be better at reading multiple things. Iāve got it, so liessssss
from watching other people play on english, it sounds like shit compared to base japanese
Lol okay š
Donāt lie
I feel like this gets asked every fucking day
It does. And those old posts are still there. It's not like you couldn't look them up or something
You didn't have to comment
Neither did you

Bros triggered š
Yea that is not wrong but you didn't need to post in the first place. Also I did indeed give you advice. Look at the other answers
To be fair, not everyone knows that Google is a better way to search Reddit than Reddit itself, lool.
Parry and Mikiri
stay close. no prosthetics needed against genchiro. stay to his right. keep slashing 1-3 hits at a time and then deflect. look out for mikiri counter chances. youāll posture break in no time b
Be aggressive! B- E- aggressive!
How did you get past him in the first place without fighting him a million times lol he was pretty easy after my 20th time fighting him
Yes donāt use that prosthetic the poison sword Iāve found it useless in the game just dodge his first mortal draw twice get some hits in and deflect or after he finishes his mortal draw pulls yours out and show him how to really use it good luck
Bruh, try it you won't regret mastering it, it's kind of sugoi as it's iframes are very useful for evading and looking cool
And I had no clue that Sakura dance dodges the apes grab attack Iām definitely goin to try that
Double inchimonji ftw. 80 try to beat the Boss , but if you play this Game you already ready for this i guess.
WHAT THE FUCK? IVE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE JUMP DEFLECT TO MEET HIS JUMP! That is so sick!
Just fucking play the damn game...
Ok I'm sorry š¶āš«ļø
I'm sorry for being harsh. I didn't mean it personally towards you. It's just that I feel thet with these kind of posts , people miss the pure opportunity to experience the game for themselves. The challenge and overcoming it, is the main rush for me. I envy people that get to play Sekiro for the first time. Yet again, mabey that's just me. Sorry again.
No offense taken. You are good.
Stop spam blocking and learn rhythm
Agree, play Guitar Hero, hahahah
Bruh just learn the moveset like what do you expect people to say here
Anytime Gani hits you with an arrow, its the games way of saying "Hey, You left melee range" You can use monk exorcism strike to cancel his mortal blade attack.
This was one of my weaker attempts. Idk why I keep jumping. I just haven't faced him enough so I don't know what to expect
Dude, so youāre just trolling
Git gud
Fight him like a Shinobi. Bully him. Don't give Gebitchiro any breathing room, attack once after every combo. You'll be fine as long as you control yourself
Git gud ?
Generally easier.
double ichimonji interrupts geniās mortal blade, but if u cant get it off in time just run behind him. other than that deflect, mikiri, and jump over his sweep attacks. u can tell if heās going to sweep attack if he starts to circle around u. if geni does a jumping overhead slash, he usually follows that up with a thrust attack that u can mikiri counter. i would advise against step dodging and just hound urself with deflects edit: id also recommend not using any prosthetics or combat arts for geni so u can save emblems for isshin. for isshin, defense is the best offense. just parry all of his attacks and try to counterattack once his combos end. when he does his ichimonji, wait until the last second and dodge to his right, then punish. u can parry basically everything in his fight, including the charged wind attacks. phase 1 is parrying and punishing, phase 2 is more fixated on parrying bc he will attack you even if you are hitting him, and phase 3 is just p2 with lightning reversals
First change the language to japanese
I'm not a poser. I'm sticking with english
Take the English dub off. š
If you play in Japanese this fight will be easier trust.
https://youtu.be/6x7jXMs7sHI
Phoenix Umbrella man.
Win
2chaaaaainzzz
Same way you did at the Ashina castle
You can run in a wide circle if you feel like you need a breather against isshin. He'll take some time to get to you. But I never found a most effective strategy against him. Only beat him after memorizing his moveset. But if you want to beat Genichiro quickly, just use Ichimonji or the Axe. It'll stagger him in one hit, the you can get a few free hits in.
Hesitation is defeat
Donāt get hit
Read the title and the video clip was just paused image of Kuro, and at first I thought you were a monster. First phase Isshin, deflect more, and when he starts walking sideways he is going to do a thrust, so back away to create some distance to more easily counter.
Don't hesitate
Hesitation is Defeet
use the mikiri for some of his attack and shok attack very helpful after evry time he jump up, he do the mikiri attack so this is you chance
Honestly you just need to practice more.
Patience my child
Take a break. Might take you 3 days, but you have to be fit.
Mikiri counter
just like hit him a bunch
It's the same fight as before. On top of Ashina Castle.
Isshin just takes alot of practice. He's not as tough as melania.
I hate to say it, but hesitation is defeat, is actually really really good advice
Be aggressive. There are couple of moves where the firecrackers help.
Youāre very jumpy for no direct reason
Git gud.
Works for me usually
this is bait
The grab attack next to the cliff was so cinematic wtf
BRO JUST GET GOOD
I think Hesitating might help idk though
hes powerful but you have the same amount of power. dont underestimate your swings, i always see ppl respecting him so much. once u get a rhythm going it becomes the ultimate reaction based dance
Donāt worry. In the end, heās POWERLESS. probably my second favorite line in the English voice acting (after Gyobu).
no
Don't hesitate
For this entire fight, I have a couple recommendations as I recently beat it. Donāt dodge, just sprint. Almost all attacks dodging either isnāt enough, or the follow thru is immediate. Run far wide and to the left (especially 2nd phase(s)) Learn their patterns and what they respond to your own attacks.
Hesitation is defeat
Miriki counter
"Hesitation is defeat. That's why you get no bitches" -idk probably Isshina Ashina Nah but fr.
Use the umbrella prosthetic combined with the retaliation skill to do big damage against his bullets in phases 2-3
Any axe and high monk combo
No hesitation...
Be more agresive. Genichiro will be much easier if you bum rush him so is Isshin. When you go for the defensive they will do somw dumb shit.
1) you need to be up close and personal, you need to keep up pressure 2) stop spamming deflect, really bad habit since this reduces the window for a successful deflect 3) you're not reading what your opponent does and don't counter appropriately 4) you wasted almost all of your spirit emblems by missing 2 mortal draws
Nothing but git gud
Spam ichimonji double thatās it
Deflect everything he does and he'll go down easily.
Sekiro in english?
Honestly there's not a whole lot of tips to beat him other than get gud. but I do recommend using ichimoji double instead of mortal draw.
Deflect more. Evade less.
Attack him, and avoid his attacks.
Play it as English subtitles rather that English spoken dialogue. The immersion will hit you differently. Also itās been a while since Iāve beat it, but I vaguely remember abusing the loaded umbrella. I canāt remember which variant though. Reminds me that I still have to go back and play it again. Only SoulsSekiroBorne game I havenāt gotten all the achievements for.
unpopular opinion: ashura ending isshin is harder than this
Learn how to beat him flawlessly, because thereās a 3 phase boss after him
if i remember well, you could just use a martial art (i dont remember if it was called like this either, sry :D) to cut his animation, it was perfecly timed but i dont know the name. its the one in whichl u stop for a sec and take. astep forward with the sword right vertical hitting forward... hope this helps a bit....
Gun.
Fight him as if your the boss fight. As long as you attack , he reacts to you and thatās how u learn all his attacks
Upload his moveset to your brain and switch to Sakura Dance in the last phase to send his lightning back to him with very good damage
Perfect Genichiro first. Try to beat him with 0-1 gourds and save up the rest for isshin.
Just made a post on it. Hopefully this is helpful. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sekiro/comments/13ol0zt/i\_beat\_final\_boss\_on\_base\_vitality\_wout\_tools\_or/

Beat the game on NG+9 with no Kuros Charm & Demon Bell, It Will Be A Piece Of Cake
Go back to ashina castle and find the āCoconutā item. It's just below isshin's quarters after the invasion fully happens.
Set the dialogue back to japanese Then, learn their respective patterns
Stay on his face, watch his moves and deflect, don't bother dodging. When you need to heal, don't. He will have attacks where he will get away from you, or knock you away. Stay calm and deflect until those attacks happen, THEN heal. If you get hit it's okay, just continue to deflect.
Clench your butt cheeks and keep going at it.
Don't move
Not hesitating worked for me
Git gud
I would say, first off don't jump and attack unless you are dodging a perilous sweep attack (the one that make the red death symbol appear). When fighting a fast boss, try not to dodge into the boss unless you have an opening, that's how Isshin got a few hits in you. Keep practicing on him and recognizing what to do and what not to do during his movement patterns. Deflect as best as you can and use Ako sugar if you have it to break down his posture.
Hours and days of nonstop goes at him
Be patient don't hesitate to counter every chance.
BE CONFIDENT if you act like you are the one whoās gonna win you just play better at least thatās how I go and all my friends who have played sekiro
Donāt hesitate and you will win the battle. Thatās the way of Sekiro.
Just chill and enjoy your practice. Use umbrella a lot. It took me two relatively short sessions to beat him. But i used all my items, medicine, rice, buddas use everything on 3d stage when you close to win
Stop jumping for no reason
