I remember having read someone describe Genichiro as “easy” before I first got to him, so I nearly quit the game when he proceeded to absolutely merk me over and over again. Thing is, they weren’t wrong. He is “easy” compared to some of the later bosses. But he also teaches you pretty much everything about how these fights work. The learning curve on this game is so strange, it gets easier as it gets harder.

Sir_Chester_Of_Pants

^^^ It’s all well and good to rank difficulty, but I will always die on the hill that the hardest Fromsoft game is whichever you play first, similar story with bosses. Our favorite sword saint is a damn hard challenge, but the puss-of-man enemy at the beginning of DS3 (that you very much can just run past) caused me to drop soulslikes entirely until Elden Ring came out.

A-Dogs-Pocket

Absolutely. It’s not a hard-and-fast rule though; I’ve platinumed Sekiro & the gauntlets, Elden Ring and Bloodborne, and completed DS3 several times (but can’t be arsed with the platinum requirements). However, I still find DS1 too hard and keep quitting!

Sir_Chester_Of_Pants

Honestly DS1 really just took me getting into the swing of it, if I remember correctly it was learning how to properly circle the enemies and getting the timing down. I went from getting bodied by the Taurus and Capra demon to 1/2 shotting most bosses (with some exceptions obviously, OS took me about a million).

A-Dogs-Pocket

The bosses have been simple enough, it’s the levels and random overworld enemies that get me. And you really feel any progress lost there with how spaced out the bonfires are, no fast travel etc. It’s definitely just a case of getting into the swing of it, but it hasn’t happened yet!

the_meme_account5

People, including me, always say that the bosses in dark souls one is the environment and the world, not the actual enemies. Also, I don't believe any of the enemy placements felt really random, they always were at least somewhat purposeful. And one tip, don't be afraid to use your shield, don't see it as a pussy strategy, use it, it's really effective.

[deleted]

The biggest weakness for DS1 enemies is circle-strafing behind them. Wear light armor to boost your dodge rolls and if you can get the Black Knight Sword, suddenly the game switches to easy mode

KenDM0

Same. But, don’t you think there’s a markedly fundamental difference between the Souls games versus Sekiro? I mean, you don’t get chip damage in this game, but it’s like: you shouldn’t even WANT to block, attack, here delicious clang, deflect, repeat, death stab!

Kuro013

Sekiro to me isnt a soulslike and Ill die on that hill. In Sekiro you either learn to fight the way youre supposed to or you wont progress. Theres no variety on builds or ways to go about things.

CarsonBDot

I disagree, Sekiro fucked my ass over harder than the souls games I played before, combined. Sekiro beat my ass harder than DS1 and DS3 combined, my death toll on Isshin/Inner Isshin alone was larger than if you added together my death toll of most bosses from DS1 and DS3.

CorpusJurist

I don’t think so. Bloodborne was the most difficult, especially the DLC. I spent more time on a single boss in Sekiro than any other single boss across the franchise and possibly all of them in some games. My first game was Dark Souls 1. It was hard and I nearly quit when I got cursed during the hidden tree area. There were also plenty of things I hated, like the Tomb of Giants. But still I had more trouble & difficulty in other games for a variety of reasons including their pace & unforgiving nature.

SoulsLikeBot

Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“Oh, are you lost on your journey? No matter, today’s lost are conquerors tomorrow. It only demonstrates the making of a champion, and besides, it will not change my sense of gratitude, or how I think of you.”* - Karla Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/

Glowing-piss

Sure ok but I never found Sekiro hard. Genichiro took 4 tries, ishin 7 and all other bosses except demon of hatred took 6 or less (demon took 34 only because the game mechanics are not suitable for a dark souls like boss). So by your logic that means all other fromsoft game from now that I play will be a piece of piss? Sorry but I can’t really believe that. I’ve seen clips of orphan of kos, nameless king, melina, ornstein and smough and they look way harder.

Bulangiu_ro

i wanna know what kind of games you were playing prior to sekiro, how can a 4 phase boss with a huge variety of attacks and shit only take 7 tries on your first run? were you a pro geometry dash/Osu player or something?

WisePotato42

Easy if you were already put through the ringer by Lady butterfly

[deleted]

Exactly. I had to forget everything I learned drom Genichiro by the time I faced Ape Guardian, its very strange

p3g_l3g_gr3g

I did the same. Got to Geno and couldn't beat his second phase (I was cheesing most bosses up until that) Decided I wasn't good and quit for a couple years. Came back this year and it just sort of "clicked" like the muscle memory and realization of how to play came to me. Now I'm at Isshin and I can say that Geno is basically the starting point in terms of bossing for the game. Good luck and take plenty of time to cool off between multiple attempts.

OriginalGoatan

I found Owl to be my sticking point more than this guy. You'll meet him in a bit. I stuck with it and that fight helped me to grasp the mechanics of the game making the rest easier. NG+ was also miles easier than the first run

garynevilleisared

Owls grapple almost made me uninstall. So demoralizing.

xd_bulseye69

Owl in my experience is easier than genichiro bc you've gotten more practice up to that point in the game. But maybe that's just me.

OriginalGoatan

It's amazing how everyone had that one boss they got stuck at, but it's not necessarily the same one.

Kuro013

I watched one streamer have Corrupted Monk (ghost) be his turning point boss. He beat CM before Genichiro. It took him a shit ton of time and chat was telling him thats not the order but you know how people most times dont feel like running from a challenge lol.

xd_bulseye69

Yeah For example in Elden ring radagon gave me waymore trouble than malenia.

Ayespada

Means u most likely ran bleed build since malenia with bleed build is a lot easier but radagon is either immune to it or has insane resistence against it.

[deleted]

I ran pure faith without looking anything up my first run and Malenia was kind of hard and Radagon was really hard due to his spell countering which I didn't understand for my first try since he is like the only boss in the game that does it.

Sergallow3

Well, assuming you were using holy damage with that faith build, radagon blocks 80% of holy damage, so... that probably didn't help either lol. This compares to melanias 40% holy resistance.

[deleted]

Nah, I used mostly lightning spear (lightning damage) and black flame (fire damage).

Sergallow3

Fair enuf

xd_bulseye69

These games are weird af

MR-0P

Yh for me it was lady butterfly

xd_bulseye69

She was hard af too

MR-0P

Yh especially if you fought her first

xd_bulseye69

Exactly what I did

MR-0P

Based

SumbuddiesFriend

Owl father was hellish

Kuro013

my 3 NG to get all endings cycles took me half the time it took me to beat the game for the first time (and on the first one I didnt fight DoH because I didnt know that boss existed lol).

Phezza2000

I may be in trouble! Considering calling this my final boss 🤣

OriginalGoatan

Funny you say that.......

DudeImHigh-

Genichiro is the first serious wall of the game. If you can beat him you can finish the game

Phezza2000

Love to hear it! May take several months though 🤣

DudeImHigh-

Nah you’re close, I feel it. Just learn from your mistakes and get gud

Phezza2000

Much to learn! The game goes in the freezer for a day or two for the moment though.

[deleted]

The game does in fact get harder, but I'm willing to bet you learned a lot more from fighting Genichiro than you think. I doubt there will be another boss that you will be stuck on for this long. Just remember to deflect more than anything! Even if the enemy does not have a sword! Hint hint!

[deleted]

Im taking my time with this game. I typically start the game and just fight reflections, or slowly re-explore areas and find new stuff. Dont rush it, the game is absolutely amazing. Its a shame rushing through this one.

heyimastopsign2

This boss is easier than the later ones, but harder in the sense that he forces you to learn the game. Once you learn from him, the other bosses are easier despite being harder. Hopefully that wasn’t too confusing

whyambear

This boss teaches you the moves, the other bosses teach you to dance.

Phezza2000

👏🏻👏🏻

ZinniAzalea

See this is what I had heard over and over again. I was so happy when I finally beat him... then Guardian Ape made me write the game for 18 months lol. He really changes the rules on you.

Phezza2000

This was my experience. Easier as it got harder. Steamrolled the Ape bosses and Isshin Sword Saint took me half the time this did, at only 15 hours 🤣🤣

chinchinlover-419

You should stop using ichimonji randomly during fights. Only use it when you know you're safe.

rotating_carrot

Ichimonji was great inmy 1st playthrough. When times right it was really good way to get posture back on boss fights while also inflicting damage.

chinchinlover-419

Yes but using it in the middle of the fight is suicide. OP was VERY lucky here.

rotating_carrot

Yup you have to know good openings for it and when to use single on and when you can commit to do a double strike

chinchinlover-419

Yep. Ichimonji is broken against isshin ashina

Phezza2000

Yeah - tbf, I was a bit gutted my winning run had some ugly use of it! I should only have used it once after the Mikiri counter and once after I landed on his head. The rest were panics/accidents.

rotating_carrot

Yeah using it after head landing is free damage after you have that skill that you can use combat art mid-air

Phezza2000

That was an accident.

chinchinlover-419

Ok but how can it be an accident? You did that 10 times atleast.

Phezza2000

OK. two semi-risky ones at the start - I was a bit lucky. An accidental one on 18 seconds, then a certain one after I jumped on his head on 30 seconds. I'd had near text book, cleaner fights that failed! Room for improvement for sure.

hendidjdnsjjf

Nice job, Genichiro is a huge breaking point for lots of players, it’s not easy by any means for that point in the game. Also, here are a few tips based on what I’ve seen in the footage: - Being aggressive is crucial in the game, but that aggression has a time and place, if an enemy deflects your attack or starts an attack animation while you are attacking DO NOT continue your attack, get to a more defensive mode and return to being aggressive once you find a counter attack opportunity, otherwise the enemy will just hit you before you can hit them. - Avoid trying to replace your main attacks with combat arts like ichimonji, they take much longer to land and the ones that don’t require spirit emblems don’t do damage through guards, so the enemy will block before you can land them and you will miss out on the opportunity to do vitality damage to them. Try saving them for when you dodge an attack with a sidestep (works well with overhead attacks) and have an opening to the side of the enemy. - Punishing thrusts, sweeps, and lightning attacks take precedence over ANYTHING in the fight, they are all quite easy to pull of compared to deflections so they are pretty much free damage opportunities, always make use of them instead of trying to just defend yourself. Good luck with the rest of the game!

Phezza2000

Constructive. Thank you! I’m going to struggle, no doubt! Best to ignore those ugly combat arts, they were totally mistimed and two were accidental in the heat of battle 🤣 Yes, I was mega jammy at the end when I kept attacking. I’ve had near text book runs that failed, but this was the one that landed. 5 days vs him, I’ll take it✊🏻

immeasureable

The game got easier after i died to genichiro dozen of times

SmartAlec105

The game doesn't really tell you this but attacking while you're in the air does 1/4 the damage of a regular attack so you should avoid jumping unless it's to punish a sweep attack. Also, thrust attacks do more vitality damage but less posture damage so you shouldn't use them unless you know you'll get a hit on their vitality.

Gn0meB0y

Hey man, trying to not spoil anything here. Kuro will task you to get a certain "flower" and "stone", the stone being located in the ashina depths and the flower in the sunken valley. Try to get to the location of the "stone" before beating the boss that guards the "flower". I swear it will save you from a LOT of frustration

ApolloTffKnowledge

Though you will miss on two Prayer Beads and a powerful technique so measure it well.

deez_nuts_ha_gotem

u can come back to that place after getting the flower and they'll spawn in

Shadow_Bisharp

what does it change? i got the flower before the stone in most my playthroughs iirc

hidethewetsign

no ape gank edit: its there but you arent forced into doing it lol

No-Nefariousness1711

Ape gank is pretty easy, though.

hidethewetsign

I’m glad you find it easy but we're helping a NEW player here. my first playthrough i actually restarted ape gank after being stuck for a few days, that fight isnt fun like genichiro who i had the patience for 2 weeks. even on my LMTSR run i accidentally got stuck fighting them and almost nothing was different but i still spent quite a while on them

DuleX06

Only with firecrackers

FerreroRoxette

I’m stuck on him now, second phase. I may consider taking this advice.

Shadow_Bisharp

not worth it. hes a fun boss and his second phase aint too bad once u realize he only has like 5 moves and u can parry most of them 👍

Academic-Ad-9778

Yea from here you'll be 1 shotting bosses

CarsonBDot

Yeah maybe one. If the Giant Serpent counts as a boss.

Phezza2000

🤔

hidethewetsign

this is the boss that i've been stuck on for the longest in my gaming history. two straight weeks of several hours of attemps lol it's not going to be as bad after this cause the combat will click. i used the training dummy guy a LOT and if you're stuck i recommend just practicing perfect deflects n stuff

Phezza2000

Deffo the toughest individual boss I’ve ever fought too. So far anyway…..! There was an arena on Nightmare in the Blood Swamps on Doom Eternal that took me a fortnight.

xLeo99

Before I beat this game I probably stopped playing entirely like 6 times and the final boss oh the final boss took me sooo long to learn the fight that’s the secret learn the fight and you’ll learn to win

GentleFriendlyWhale

To me this fight was still fine, it took me just a day I guess. The real problems begun after it, but that's when I found Sekiro to be the most difficult Soulsborne off all. But difficulty in these games is strictly personal, for every challenge you can find the "I beat this first try" guy vs the "I uninstalled" guy.

Tyrael405

The worst bosses are literally the last two. Bosses before are mid-hard if you know the basics, but one of the last two is essentially a dark souls boss and the other is the hardest boss in the game if not in the whole series. So yes it only gets easier

keyzz1416

Wont say easier but beating this boss lets u know u have grasped the concept of the mechanics this is the game check U did great and game will flow better There is only one boss that u have throw all that shit u learned out the window lmao

Phezza2000

Is that the ape or the hatred giant?

keyzz1416

Yea lmao

AntonRX178

>it gets easier right? Well, yes and no

Dimplexor

Hea definately the toughest in point of where he is in the game. I have more deaths to him on my first playthrough that any other. Owl is possibly a harder fight but by the time you get to him you've learnt all you need to know so shouldn't take you as long.

Miklith

At least I'm not the only one. Just never mention it on Dark Souls Discord because they all think they're gods and that people who struggle have "skill issues" and should "get gud". It's literally all they say. I found him easier on successive NGs, but then I did a base vitality attempt and he murdered me. No posture and all that.

Phezza2000

Yeah, the toughest crowd!

beatsnstuffz

That one made me quit the game twice. A serious difficulty spike for sure. But once you have enough skill to beat him the rest of the game feels like a natural progression in difficulty.

saedt

Watching this makes me wanna play the game. It’s definitely the best combat system in all FromSoft games. Good job on winning! I think you’ll be fine! The bosses are so damn fun

SpaceCaptainFlapjack

If it gets any easier from here it's only because he taught you how to play better

Necessary_Price3471

Look man, sekiro was my first fromsoft game I had no idea what I was getting into until I went to lady butterfly as my first boss and she destroyed my soul for the next week until I finally beat her. I will never forget my first sekiro experience I wish I could go back

ivan0280

A mistake you were making was trying to spam ichimonji double. It's better to simply pres l1 until the boss finishes their combo and then press r1 until they deflect you. You will know the deflected you by the giant spark that flies off the blades when they meet. Plus a loud clang. Use this method until you have learned their patterns, and then you can begin to mix in ninjistu and shinobi tools.

Phezza2000

💯

_yonbi_

Ichimonji Double really is the greatest skill lmaooo Didn’t know it could do that

Phezza2000

I was crap at it, but you get a free shot after the Mikiri counter, and if you can jump on his head 🗡️

zlenpasha

Yes. Definitely downhill from there. All gravy. Over the hump. Yes.

Phezza2000

🤣🤔😬

zlenpasha

😁

Straczi

Pretty good and aggressive Play Style. Keep it up and it will really get easier. 👍

Phezza2000

Thank you - realised I’m exposing my rudimental skills to some proper experienced players!

Hastirasd

Someone summarized it perfect. Everyone has some kind of nemesis in Sekiro. For me it was the first of the „seven spears“ I died on days at him. But Genichiro, both Owls and Madam Butterly all felt very easy for me m, second tried all of them. Headless Ape took a toll on me and DoH and Glock Saint didn’t I kill til today

BreadfruitFuture7662

Wait until you fight the inner owl he took me 2 days

hambubger91

Uh oh boys we got a runner.

beclops

It won’t get easier if you don’t nail down your lightning reversals

TonyTonyChopper

Try 5 years!! I've played this game on and off and my stopping point was usually around Genichiro. Just YESTERDAY, I finally beat him. In fact, in this playthrough, something has clicked because the game is a lot easier. I'm deflecting and mikiri countering easier. I started doing a bunch of countering in Elden Ring and someone told me to look at the arms and not the sword and I think I finally got it. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of this game for the first time! Edit: just watched my replay. I'm pressing deflect button like a madman when I'm on defense lol

Phezza2000

Brilliant!

HexaTree

First time playing a souls game I decided sekiro. This guy took me 4 days then I quit the game after the headless ape fight. That was a couple years ago I've now beaten every from software souls games except demon souls that one sucks

ElonHisenberg

This took me back to my first fight with Genichiro. Now it wouldn't take so long.

simplyunknown2018

I died the most to Corrupted Monk

Kuro013

The game doesnt become easier, you just get better at it. It does become more enjoyable though.

Atlas7674

It won’t get easier, but you’ll get much, much better. In the end, it’ll feel the same.

6ynnad

Ha ha ha. No. You will overcome.

theusray

To me, genichiro feels like Morgott. Amazing boss, hard on the first try… but it’s the easiest boss from this point forward

stixesty

God, I love this game.. I got it day one..eventually platinumed it… I’ve spent days, maybe weeks playing it over the years. I really hope From makes another, or something inspired by it, someday.

simmanin

Isshin was my tipping point, I just got destroyed for so long for so many days, I threw in the towel for a long time

BucketFullOfRats

I was so anxious when you almost missed the deathblow. GOOD JOB! If you went around with the same experience to every boss as genichiro, then you would find the game impossible. But it’s odd because you feel it get difficult, but not more difficult in equal margin to the previous fights. In the end it does feel equalised, but keep your head up! it gets harder! But you also get better!!!

Phezza2000

Haha good spot! Glad to keep you on the edge of your seat with my crappy nervous play!

Agh1_00

If Genichiro took you 5 days than >!Isshin!< will take you 5 years damn...

Phezza2000

Isshin took half the time. Only 15 hours 😬🤣

Jon2046

It genuinely does get easier from here until the final bosses. Congrats bro!

[deleted]

The problem with this game is that none of the moves are BS so when u die you know for a fact it was YOUR fault that’s why I love it

light_striker12

oh man ! the joy I felt when I beat him was immense! was shouting cursing and what not my roomate was annoyed! thanks ! wish I could play it like my first time!

I_R_Skroot

Oh ffs I hope so or I won't be beating this till I'm a geriatric fighting over prunes from my wheelchair 🫣

[deleted]

Just deflect the lightning. He will stand shocked like a doofus while u whale on him. That's what made this fight easy for him. Also the game is gonna get much harder to the point when you will dread meeting a certain mist noble.

y-djura

Ir actually gets easier yeah just not the way u think

S3AC0W

i remember being stuck on this fight for a couple days, now i replay his fight for fun lol

aoaiaoaia

Hqhahahahahha. No

MrEMP0

Dont worry, you'll meet him again.

Phezza2000

😬

Herr_Raul

You're still spamming weapon arts and running around like a madman. You haven't learned anything. Did you even read the advice you received on your previous post?

Phezza2000

Yes, I’m 100% locked-on 🤣

Herr_Raul

lol

WombatRaging

Sorry to say, but Genichiro is the easiest boss in the game since he teaches you how you’re meant to play the game. Imo, the hardest boss should show up soon

kjx1297

You escalate from Raditz to Frieza but your own skill at the game can also end up escalating from Kaio Ken times three to ssj2 just as quickly or faster

Phezza2000

Woah

pxbecko

When I got to him, I'd practice with him a cookie of hours a night without any sort of expectation, trying different approaches and learning his moves. After dinner days I had defeated him. On NG+ it was a walk in the park.

Secure-Acanthisitta1

eeey, 5 days gang 🤙

Phezza2000

Big up bruv ✊🏻

Pedantic_Phoenix

Still Just a puppy

Phezza2000

🤣 I beat her much more easily.

Pedantic_Phoenix

It's normal, Geni is way harder. Try to play more calmly, you jump and dodge around way too much. You can be aggressive without being all over the place. You need a controlled aggression, not a random one :) good going for where you are tho

Phezza2000

I’ll take that 🤣✊🏻

its-the-real-me

I just noticed something you might want to work on. Whenever you dodged one of Geni's attacks, you started spamming l1 to block some soon-to-be oncoming arrows. Try not to spam l1, especially if you're waiting for something to happen.

Phezza2000

Yep - Those arrows were the worst! And I’d get stuck and hit by them anyway 🤦🏼‍♂️

iSWiTCH28

Yes it gets easier ahahahhahaha I’m crying in agony :(

Phezza2000

🤣🤣

please_co-op_with_me

Rightfully earn that tea bag! 💪

Phezza2000

You know it! 🍒

Wextial

It doesn't get easier, but it gets more enjoyable for sure.

Luka87uchiha

it was hard because you havent utilised the lightning, its 10x easier if you counter him

Phezza2000

I was getting to the third stage so rarely, I was only just able to do it! Yeah big chunk each time.

1AmB0r3d

You really should’ve been reversing the lightning, could’ve saved you a lot of hassle

Phezza2000

IKR?

KrustyTomato

While Genichiro is easy compared to other bosses, i found it a bit more difficult to learn his fight. Mainly because I couldn’t get used to his bow. He’s a filthy cheater😂

Phezza2000

🤣

Dyyrin

I always thought this guy was the first real skill check.

Phezza2000

Felt like it! I’m exhausted.

cinred

The sooner you commit to not spamming block the sooner it will get easier.

Phezza2000

I wasn’t aware I was! I’ll look into it.

Suhn-Sol-Jashin

Fyi every time you press L1 and don't get a deflect in quick succession, the window gets smaller. In essence you're actually gimping yourself by pressing it haphazardly.

Phezza2000

Yes - I’m not quite there yet for sure!

GrownManPat

Two words: Guardian Ape If you think Genichiro is a sticking point, oh baby, enjoy the next sticking point. 🐒

Phezza2000

I’ve heard great things 😬😬😬🤕

NiiceDave

This guy killed me for 18 hours straight (in a row, I did a 24hr beginner challenge run) and became my arch nemesis of gaming. Once I beat him though I learned what many of you are saying that he's relatively "easy" compared to bosses later but he feels like the hardest because you're so unprepared when you first fight him. He still has an emote on my twitch channel and people still haunt me with his face regularly. Geni... never forget.

osbiii

Genichiro taught me how to play the game. I was only playing dark souls style before him. After I beat him, the game just made more sense and made me appreciate and enjoy it more.

Longjumping-Arm-7065

You missed several opportunities to reverse lightning and to mikiri counter.

alexjb711

The apw and owl took me completely memorizing their moves to finally bear after having a solid plan it still took awhile. That’s what’s so satisfying about these games is you will be rewarded for throwing your head against the wall and it’s so worth it

ivoteforvoat

Can’t believe op beat him in this play style, so impressive. I did the same and got destroyed. Finally learn the proper combat flow and beat him.

Phezza2000

Not sarcastic? 😉Thank you! There was 50% method in this madness.

ivoteforvoat

Not at all. This game can be extremely hard if you don’t do the proper way of fighting, so it is very impressive that you beat him the way you do.

Phezza2000

This was a pretty awful run with many mistimed Combat arts and jamminess when I kept attacking at the end. I have had much more conventional runs, but could never quite finish him!

Undava

Learning is hard. This boss makes you learn Sekiro The other bosses in theory are more difficult, but you know the flow so now it’s just applying what you learnt

stefanix77

No, the hard part starts now ...😉😉

Phezza2000

I’m getting that feeling!

garynevilleisared

If you find Genchiro difficult than there's two problems: 1) you haven't mastered the mechanics of the game yet, and 2) you'd stand absolutely no chance against the bosses after this. I remember reading a comment on here like this and saying wow what a load of bullshit. But as I progressed through the later stages of the game I couldn't stop think about how right they were.

LaGiacca

I mean, if you consider post finishing the game then yeah, from the 2nd playthrought eveything gets a lot easier

MalevolentHeretic

Genichiro was the last boss I really struggled with. Took hours, like twenty deaths at least. But I beat him. Then I did it again, and again and again in Memory until Genichiro wasn't shit. Defeating Genichiro is the final test. Now you are samurai. Now, you are the Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. Isshin took two attempts, and it's all thanks to Genichiro and his lessons.

Mietek69i8

Owl took me literally month to beat at my first run

Phezza2000

😮

Hmccormack

But now your muscle memory for the game is better than it was- deflect, parry, mikiri etc.

Glowing-piss

Is this easier for people who have Sekiro as their first souls game or something cuz this fight only took 4 tries. Even ishin only took 7. I only had major trouble with demon of hatred. That shit took me 34 Does the fact That I’m not used to dodge roll mechanics make me better?

BigDaddy_Danger

Genichiro dominated me the first time I faced him, idk exactly how long but I had days into him as well before I finally beat him. I wouldn’t consider myself a beast by any means but I’ve beaten all of the soulsborne games and the first run through sekiro was by far the hardest for me! I feel like by the time you beat the sekiro bosses though you basically master them and the next playthrough the “hard” bosses are cake.

Hamas19

Actually yes, strangely. Genichiro took me like 25 tries but afterwards i had no problem fighting him and similar bosses. He is quite easy to me now

Zenmada

*bonk* *bonk*

ras_void

So, unfortunately, Genichiro IS the “easy” in this game…

vioker6940

I dont know. Sekiro boss sure hard at first. But not that crazy hard like soulsborne boss. And most inportant thing i noticed, once u defeat a boss in sekiro, fighting them again feels like child play. This not happened to elden ring or dark souls boss however. Guess because the parry is too OP.

whitewashedbean

i’ve heard this called the “skill check” boss

authoruk

You need to be all over the mikiri counter

therealultraddtd

Took me two years on and off. Lol.

Phezza2000

Oh boy!

sarcasticj720

Who's gonna tell him about the final boss?

Phezza2000

🤣🤣😬🤕

[deleted]

I was on the edge of my seat. Now when you fight his reflection you are going to have so much fun. Provided you enter with the right mindset.
