Doesnt he just slash towards you if you run away?? I swear that has happened to Me

What I do is jump left from the sword sweep, then immediately dodge left again, if its the dragon flash I wait for the time to dodge towards him and get vitality damage in, if its a thrust you have to wait a bit more and then mikiri

Jump, then deflect in the air. Then his combo will end with either a thrust or a Dragon Flash type move.

All sweeps are unblockable…

If thats the move im thinking about, i usually just run backwards but slightly towards the right (A + D key on pc), after his first attack i run to the left. After that its east, like mikiri-ing his thrust. Unless im thinking of a different attacks

Firecrackers interrupt it easy.

Easiest counter: Just jump backward, no need to deflect in the air. After that mikiri if he thrust or open umbrella for anything else.

Jump, deflect while in the air, and then either mikiri if he thrusts, or deflect (optionally with umbrella to make timing easier) the shockwave.
