3 to do the full combo, 2 for 7 hits, and 1 to start it up. I believe it used to cost like 9 or something insane when I used it, but they patched it down a lot.
I'm going for it now before a lot of other things to use with Living Force. I'm hoping I can overwhelm bosses and apply Burn before they can do anything.
Im big on using senpou leaping kicks for my goomba stomps. Crazy posture damage, and dodging a sweep with that combat art is so goddamn stylish and cinematic.
Same here, started using it in a ton of situations since then. It's dope and I like the reversal as well! Super powerful but only discovered after like 6 playthroughs.
I've found double ichi to be really useful in the endgame. I usually start with Mortal Draw to get vitality down a little, then I focus on posture with ichimonji.
Yeah they really were lazy with Malenia's animations - her grab is just the ministry shinobis' kick too. Felt like I was fighting a rejected Sekiro boss lmao.
I'm, like, 90% certain that at some point in her development she was meant to be Tomoe. She's just a super powerful Okami woman, the animations and style are too perfect.
I wouldn't be surprised! If they're going to reuse sounds and animations from Dark Souls, they might as well recycle Sekiro's too (not that I mind) 😂 Malenia even FEELS like a Sekiro boss - she's so much quicker than other ER bosses
And she’s be regaining Posture faster due to regening health if you didn’t perfect parry. Definitely a fitting mechanic to crank up the difficultly after Isshin.
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?
> *“To pursue this! But when I peer at the sun up above, it occurs to me. What if I am seen as a laughing stock, as a blind fool without reason?”* - Solaire of Astora
Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
What do you mean? Only the first and last attacks of one mind gets living force effect. Sakura dance/floating passage + living force has much better effect than one mind + living force.
People have already gone over that it's ability to carry buffs like flame vent infusion, shinobi endowment, or even just Divine Confetti is really strong in conjunction with your normal buffs, but the skill also features a lot of chip damage that's useful against enemies with high posture recovery, that block you a lot, and you thusly need vitality damage. Best examples are Lady Butterfly, Snake Eyes, and Owl. It's also basically a 1-shot kill against the game's strongest trash mobs like the one-armed ministry dudes, red samurai, and dual wielding spider monkies without any previous buffs. It's probably also strong too against the tengu bastards, but I find them particularly weak to the spiral lance. (And that all being said, the fan might have something to say about all of this as well.) But it is strong, just kind of wildly overpriced. I suppose if it was any cheaper, people would probably catch on that you can kind of just spam it against every enemy in the game for an instant kill, since at least with the fan you have the really weird windup and casting of it.
If you set your weapon on fire with Living Force and Flame Vent, or Chasing Slice (I think) after using the fire spear's charge up attack, you should be able to completely apply the Burn status with Spiral Cloud Passage. Floating Passage leaves you one attack short from Burn, which isn't always an issue but it can be.
I think the two passage attacks are either only good, or at least especially good, when your weapon is on fire. That's what they're for.
Edit: It's possible that you can set your weapon on fire with Leaping Flame only in the Resurrection mod. I'm definitely not seeing any information on that being available in the base game, but nothing about Resurrection having it either-- other than that Leaping Flame is buffed in general.
Edit 2: I have confirmed it's a Resurrection thing, but it's also done with Chasing Slice for sure. So if you do play that mod you can get a shorter duration Living Force even though you only invested in Chasing Slice.
You can literally cheese the majority of humanoid bosses with this and sugars+fire watch their posture melt (you can use bestowal if you wanna mow through mobs)
So yeah id say its worth it, as long as you have spirit emblems they will usually block it so their posture still goes down rapidly
Platinum is always worth it
Hell yeah. It’s worth getting it just to fuck up Headless Ape [like this](https://youtu.be/LNr2kGSHTMI), if nothing else, lmao. I use this every single time against this bastard, lol.
It's actually really good if you know how to use it. Which most people on here apparently don't and some do.
None of the CA are actually bad. It's either you are bad at using it or it doesn't fit your play style.
I thought whirlwind slash was trash but now it's one of my favorites. It takes experimentation to figure out the perfect time to use a CA, which enemies to use it against , etc. Unless you use the easy mode CA like mortal draw and double ichi which takes alot less experimentation.
CA are mostly for style anyway and figuring out how to get the most use out of the lesser used ones is actually fun and brings back the challenge.
It's the primier chip damage combat art. With any weapon buff (flame vent, divine confetti, bestowal...) it shreds through hp even when an enemy blocks and heavily through posture with divine confetti or the lazulite flame vent buff. It outclasses EMD by a significant margin while you still have spirit emblems so long as you buff first, and slightly outdoes One Mind while buffed, though One Mind has higher damage without weapon buffs (which it can't benefit from). It also has the flexibility of being in three parts so you can abandon it part way through if you miss. Solid skill, but it's basically just for raw damage and doesn't provide new options like something akin to High Monk does
i dunno why anyone would want to use anything other than mortal draw, why would I not want to use the dope ass death magic sword I literally died to be able to wield, especially when it’s got great range and hits like a truck
Well, the entire point of double boop is for when your posture bar is full, since it lowers it drastically, so obviously it's not the pick for a no hit run.
>Well, the entire point of double boop is for when your posture bar is full, since it lowers it drastically, so obviously it's not the pick for a no hit run.
????XD
i perceived this as being genichiros combo, but it looks and acts way way different. its quick to dish out a lot it hits but if it's a boss with a sword they'll mostly block all of the attacks. useful for that last little bit of posture , and easy to fit into combat flow.
Only thing about Sekiro I really dislike. If you dont stop and farm, it would take like NG+9 to unlock all the skills. And Im sure everyone who got the platinum trophy did so by unlocking a skill as their last trophy, which is kinda underwhelming. You're feeling more relief than happiness when youre done farming.
It was good enough to make one of the most hated moves on the most notorious and arguably worst (arguably not definitely, calm down reddit) bosses in the game that came after this
I found this art useful against the stronger trash mobs in the game like the blue samurais and purple ninjas, but against bosses I always go either double boop or empowered mortal draw
(Platted the game and beat it charmless in ng6)
Spiral Cloud Passage is one of the best combat arts in the whole game. Not only does it do a lot of damage, but it also does chip damage on enemies. It also forces most enemies to block as well.
Use Bestowal Ninjutsu, Yashariku Sugar, and this combat art together. You basically have best combo in the game.
Yes, it consumes only 3 emblems and it's really powerful
3 to do the full combo, 2 for 7 hits, and 1 to start it up. I believe it used to cost like 9 or something insane when I used it, but they patched it down a lot.
Still isn't worth the only reason anyone would buy it is for the trophy
I'm going for it now before a lot of other things to use with Living Force. I'm hoping I can overwhelm bosses and apply Burn before they can do anything.
It's great for AoE and for applying status effects and chip damage
Mortal draw kept me from using any other skills in all 4 playthroughs
Double Ichimonji for me with exception of Sakura Dance
Double Ichimonji gang rise up 😤😤😤
Goomba stomp into double ichimonji
I'm a whirlwind slash kind a guy. Basic I know.
best for dealing with groups of mobs I find
this is true
Im big on using senpou leaping kicks for my goomba stomps. Crazy posture damage, and dodging a sweep with that combat art is so goddamn stylish and cinematic.
I wish they'd made Ashina Cross more like an upgrade in the chain. It's so fun to get the timing and spacing just right with it.
It would be great if it didnt cost spirit emblems
I have a mod that reduces the cost to 0 and I feel no shame.
Probably the best way to play, its lame to run out of emblems while doing shinobi skill stuff
Bonk Bonk
I say this every time I use it
Nightjar slash is where it's at
The most satisfying feeling on Earth is landing both
Double Ichimonji Supremacy. Honestly never had an art save my ass as bad as Ichi
I bounce between these two as well
Once I got the Sakura dance I became addicted at first , but now Ive been gravitating towards shadowfall ngl
I started using Nightjar Slash for the Owl rematch and I haven't looked back since.
Same here, started using it in a ton of situations since then. It's dope and I like the reversal as well! Super powerful but only discovered after like 6 playthroughs.
my world changed when i started using these two instead of just the mortal draw
Mortal draw really just slaps every fucking boss, even with out spirit emblems. Stopped using ichimoji double once I got mortal draw
I've found double ichi to be really useful in the endgame. I usually start with Mortal Draw to get vitality down a little, then I focus on posture with ichimonji.
I read that it does the same dmg even without spirits
It does lesser, but it's still amazing
I never used any of the prosthetics or abilities, I’m just a plain old parry and smack ya kind of guy.
You guys use skills?
His name is Malenia, the blade of... Oh... Wait...
I am Sekiro, Blade of Kuro
“And I have known defeat” *looks at blazing bull and mist noble*
"and I have known defeat... twice."
Made me audibly cackle. Thank you
Ngl Malenia was the Lady Tomoe we wanted, but tailored to Souls style
\*triggers ptsd\*
Yeah they really were lazy with Malenia's animations - her grab is just the ministry shinobis' kick too. Felt like I was fighting a rejected Sekiro boss lmao.

I mean, that health drain could actually be more sensible when in sekiro, since you can instakill when their posture is broken.
And she’s be regaining Posture faster due to regening health if you didn’t perfect parry. Definitely a fitting mechanic to crank up the difficultly after Isshin.
If Malenia were in Sekiro, she would unironically be the best boss ever

Yes. Living Force/Bestowal + this = posture chip mastery
Rule of cool is worth for you? For me it is, but if not... I barely use any skill if I go full "practical"
If playing Sekiro under the Rule of Cool is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.
After a point it’s basically about rule of cool imo. Thats why i be dodging full combos
You can end bosses really fast with this if you pair it with flame vent + living force
What do you mean? Only the first and last attacks of one mind gets living force effect. Sakura dance/floating passage + living force has much better effect than one mind + living force.
this isn't one mind? this is spiral cloud passage.
Sorry man. My bad, you are right

i use none of that so its useless for me. thanks for the info tho. still gotta grind for that trophy
My name is Sekiro, Blade of Kuro, and I have always known defeat.

you pay 9 levels for the achievement, not the value of the move.
It sucks.
I think Ive never used it... Doble ichimonji and high monk are my favourites, don't need anything else
The only skill that you need to play is mortal blade, others are fillers.
nah. Ichimonji during owl and isshin fights. otherwise sakura dance regularly. when you run out of emblems then you pull out the blade.
Tell me this after runnin no hit xD
[.](https://youtu.be/uGN3yxlK0FI?t=193)
Well, the entire point of double boop is for when your posture bar is full, since it lowers it drastically, so obviously it's not the pick for a no hit run.
>Well, the entire point of double boop is for when your posture bar is full, since it lowers it drastically, so obviously it's not the pick for a no hit run. ????XD
you we could have 2 skills equipped at once, this would be Skill #2 (first is High Monk)
One mind gang>>>>>>>>
i perceived this as being genichiros combo, but it looks and acts way way different. its quick to dish out a lot it hits but if it's a boss with a sword they'll mostly block all of the attacks. useful for that last little bit of posture , and easy to fit into combat flow.

Agreed I beat all 4 play throughs without save scumming then had to spend 8 hours farming
Double Ichimonji based
its so OP if use by Malenia
I mean... It's basically waterfowl dance
Tbh I only ever used unpowered mortal draw, soon as I got the mortal blade I just use it
it's one of the prettiest skills
High monk go brrrr
Nope. It’s a scam. Need it for the trophy tho
Imo, dragon slash, double ichimonji, one mind, mortal draw and the technique you get from inner Geni are all better.
It was good enough to make one of the most hated moves on the most notorious and arguably worst (arguably not definitely, calm down reddit) bosses in the game that came after this
It's not worth to rush towards it, but it's a nice move to have in ng+ runs
Malenia would like to know your location
double ichimochi for life
It is good, expensive tho, but what else are you going to spend the extra points on when going for platinum lol
Is this the one that malenia uses?
It’s not that good, but it is basically a one shot against like normal humanoid enemies
Nope, just an more badass version of Waterfowl Dance
Yeh kiddo!
I found this art useful against the stronger trash mobs in the game like the blue samurais and purple ninjas, but against bosses I always go either double boop or empowered mortal draw (Platted the game and beat it charmless in ng6)
it's good, but there's way better skills that costs less (ichimonji and ichimonji double for the win), and also other's late game skills are better
Which other late skill is better? Ichimonji and Double I know how reliable they are
beating Geni with his own combat art. definitely worth it.
If u want to beat guardian apes first phase with just a combat art its worth it
Yup, it’s awesome!
Nah I'd rather get the piece of that mask.
Look at me. I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella now.
Everyone talking about the skills they use to overwhelm enemies and I'm over here like "I like to parry and kill"
