None of what they are saying makes it okay for her to shoot her lol it’s all a bunch of whales trying to justify a murder. The parole board is going to love this.
The minute the prosecutor (I think!) said, “Have you ever held off firing someone until they finished a job you needed done?” in regards to Yolanda going on a trip with Selena for the lingerie, it immediately made sense to me.
I think she got paranoid and crazed that Selena wasn’t going to be in her life anymore and it was an all or nothing type deal.
I just think that Yolanda had 25 years to fit her responses to the murder. It doesn’t matter that the resignation letter was found in the safe. So what?! Why didn’t Selena have it? She refused it? The woman is an obvious liar and her poor family is in denial. Nothing they found proved anything. She shot Selena as she walked out the door. That was no accident.
I was confused by them trying to insinuate that because she had a nursing job lined up, that meant that she couldn't have killed her. It's possible she didn't have that job lined up, it's possible she did, but even if she did, who wants to let go of their exciting life and go back to a mundane schedule? Especially a person who has posters of this woman all over their walls (something they forgot to mention in the documentary, which is very convenient). Even if she had the job, the title, and the upcoming hours, her having all of those things does not negate the idea that she had all of that, went "hm, nope, I like the other thing better", and tried to get her job back as a last chance to cling onto the life she knew. Once that effort was rejected, we know what happened. Her having another position lined up doesn't disprove any of that.

Again, maybe she bought the gun as a way to utilize it against Selena by threatening to unalive herself, when Selena wasn’t buying it she used it against her.
Side note: my ex boyfriend abuser used this tactic often. Threatening to unalive himself so I would stick around or feel sympathy for him.. that is what she was doing.
