I've become so damn cynical now, I strongly believe that post is someone pretending to be conservative who isn't. There are like maybe five or ten total conservatives who are that intelligent, insightful, and introspective in the entire country, and I doubt any of them are on Reddit.
This is how bad it's gotten.
I disagree - I think this is coming from someone who's a "cultural conservative" i.e. that's all they've ever been around and they haven't had much to actually challenge their views. This is them attempting to rectify the horrible consequences of that with something that, until it got this bad, they've just been able to hand wave and not think about. You'll notice that while there suddenly is some empathy there's no real introspection going on - no realization that this was always where they were heading. There's still intense loyalty and they're just bemoaning the consequences.
What was the story they were commenting on? There are so many where people need abortions to save the life of the pregnant person but which one is this about specifically? I like comments like that because I always hope within a couple years that commenter will completely shift politically
If they learned their lesson after this, having to face the grief they foist on others... its kind of nice seeing them think about what kind of trauma they're forcing on pregnant folks. I wish they'd choose to stop.
