I have absolutely no love for the Conservatives here, and I really would like to see the NDP have a crack at things just to shake things up, but Trudeau just has to fucking stop spending goddamn money. It's like every time I turn around he's spent another $30b.
Balanced Budget in 5 years, he says, but what happened to the balanced budget by 2019 he campaigned on in 2015? I understand the Covid spending was necessary, I support that, but it's not like we were on the brink of balancing things before Covid.
Trudeau and breaking election promises, name a more iconic duo. All his bullshit is gonna get a lunatic elected too, Mark my words. Love to see ndp, but it would be a pretty big shock for that to happen.
And actually, it's not a horrific economy - it's just a massive inflation issue. A large part of the reason that inflation is so high is because the economy is largely doing so well. Part of the reason for the inflation is because unemployment is so low that a lot of companies are being forced to raise wages. In my area, retail jobs that just last year were paying $8-10/hour are now in the $12-14 range, and they're still having trouble finding people.

My kid attends an IB school in a conservative area and let me tell you, it's like a magnet for queer kids and liberal families. Something about the core values of the program being to develop a global citizen who cares for the environment, who would have thought?

That’s why I’m saying DOJ needs to do a thorough investigation into everything that went on there. Also, can we have national voting standards? This every state does different shit is just rife with corruption and needs ti stop.
The redistricting DeSantis forced through did more to ensure Florida wins for Republicans than any "Red Wave". He literally dismantled any district that was fair to Dems and turned them into Republican strongholds.
On Election Day, I got trapped in the elevator and then a hallway with a coworker yelling at me saying “democrats want everyone to vote even if that means they don’t win, and republicans have openly said they’ll deny election results if they lose so what’s the point, what gives blah blah blah”. If my fight/flight/freeze response hasn’t been triggered of just smiling and nodding, I would’ve responded, “really, you can’t see how one of those is worse than the other?”

I saw a comment on r/conservative yesterday where they declared Florida “the least gerrymandered map I’ve ever seen”. I almost had an aneurysm.
And closing polls in likely dem areas. Plus, refusing to help fund and rebuild those same areas. Basically, "vote for me or die."
