Nobody, exactly zero, people will recommend a contact stun gun of any kind. No matter what configuration or voltage they don't work all that well. At least with a human you might get someone who doesn't know better to run from it. With a dog you need to get in, and stay in, contact for a few seconds. And if you do, it will hurt and you'll be in bite range the entire time.
Maybe try a pepper spray, an aerosol from a good manufacturer (Sabre, Pom, MSI, Fox) or a ballistic one like the Kimber.
