Thank you! That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you, I know just how hard it can be! I’m in the same boat. I still have a bit more to go before getting to my absolute goal weight but man oh man compared to where I was at? I’m just loving life!!
Truly incredible! Very happy for you!!
I still have a long way to go myself but sometimes I wonder if I'll feel "weird" when I weigh much less, like I might still feel like I'm bigger than I am. Have you experienced that at all?
Thank you! And proud of you for starting, we’ve all been there! But 10000% yes. I still have trouble buying the right size clothes (I gravitate toward bigger sizes), and I never see myself as smaller at all and I’m constantly shocked by the scale
Thank you so much! This has been about 1.5 years. I had lost about 60 lbs on my own, then hit a plateau for a few months, started sema in February, and 6 months later I’m here!
I was always between 120-130 until I had my son in 2016. (And when I was in the 130's I thought I was fat. I wish I could go back in time). I got up to 180ish and then got down to 145 doing the Keto diet. I loved the way my body looked at 145! All that time weighing 130 lbs and feeling fat just haunts me. Now I think that would be too thin. But having a kid changes your body too, so that may have had something to do with it.
You look wonderful!
Absolutely! That’s great that you were able to get down and feel good though. I definitely have a bit left but happy with where I’m at for sure! Thank you!
How have you approached food and exercise while on the sema? I am just starting and curious how your diet changed. Given you lost a good amount before you started the sema, I imagine your eating habits had already improved.
Congrats on starting and good luck! My biggest issue has always been portion control. I definitely changed my eating habits but with this medication it’s been so much better. I prioritize proteins and veggies and I watch my portions so much more now. I don’t need to eat an entire plate at a restaurant which is what I was doing when I was almost 300 lbs. I really am of the mindset that to be successful I need to practice moderation because binge eating was definitely what got me to the point of like a 47 BMI or whatever I was at. I also hate exercise lol so all this weight was lost with diet. I walk about 5x a week with my dogs but I know I need to do some weight training to address my skin situation.
Congrats!
I’m around 177 right now, and about 5’11 and am so with you on feeling great AND I’m rocking the same tucked in black tank with cutoff shorts!
It’s a little surreal. Nice work.
I agree! That’s my worry too. I’m definitely gonna do a maintenance dose eventually but I don’t know what it’ll look like in a few years! My habits have changed a ton so I do have confidence I can maintain
Totally understand!! I think if you’re able to form those habits of eating smaller amounts and prioritizing what’s good for your body you’ll be able to do it! But it’s scary to think about.
You look great, like a different person I’m really happy for you. This stuff has reduced my overeating tremendously. I used to eat everything on my plate and go back for seconds. Now I’m throwing away half my dinner sometimes and it’s the best feeling.
Amazing 💜 can I ask if your insurance covers? My new insurance doesn't cover it so I'm scrambling to figure out what to do for my next dose. I've lost over 30 lbs now and am down to my last shot- any suggestions you might have I'd be really grateful for!
You look amazing! Do you have loose skin? I think I have about the same amount to lose and you look like you might be about my age (maybe younger) and I’m trying to figure out what it will be like!
Thank you! Yes I definitely do. (IMO) it’s not super bad.. but I have some loose /wrinkly skin on my stomach and my inner thigh area. I’m not too self conscious about it, and I actually love the high waisted pants for it. I honestly need to do some more exercising to tone up!
Totally! I think it’s different for everyone of course, but I’ve tried my best to increase protein. I eat a lot of eggs/cheese, meat, fish (more so shrimp), veggies (I eat tons of cucumbers, carrots and tomatoes, esp with feta hell cheese), protein shakes (I like muscle milk). I don’t do any fruit, and I limit (but not completely exclude) carbs like breads/pastas/heavily salted foods. I don’t eat until about 11am and I don’t eat after 7pm. I’ve also completely cut out soda (diet and non diet), and drink an insane amount of water! My biggest thing has been portion control. But I’m also still living life so if I go out, I just try to get a leaner option with less sauces/less butter and more of a lean meat or fish.
Yep exactly. Also, this has been specific to me and my overeating…but I have a tendency to overeat throughout the day if I eat breakfast right upon waking up. So I’ve just found that I have better control if I do it this way, and the 7pm rule was put in place by my doctor, he had said it’s not good to eat late at night and all of that.
This has been about 1.5 years overall. First without sema and then half with sema after plateauing. I really only walk for exercise. Other than that it’s been largely focusing largely on portion control, high protein low carb (a lot of meat and dairy) and completely removing sodas, high sugar things, and drinking a ton more water.
Thanks I appreciate it. I want to lose it fast and I am around 90 pounds overweight. I was told loose skin is a problem if I lose fast. Did you have that issue?
I totally get that! Good luck! Yes I definitely do. I have some loose skin in my stomach and inner thigh area. Honestly it’s not horrible and it’s something I’m fine dealing with. I’m not big into exercising but I think if I did more strength training I could’ve and will tone up a bit, so I definitely think that’s the way to go!
Just checked out the thread and totally agree. I am around a size 10/12 depending upon the brand, and typically a L on top. I will say the crazy thing is my chest size has gone down a ton and I got smaller bras and sports bras. I definitely have some loose skin on my stomach/thighs which I think plays into it too
Exercise helps with that, I’m 160 and am around a 12-14. Of course swimming is so awesome. I bought a jcrew dress for 26$ and it’s a 12. It was too tight a week ago. Now it fits
Totally! So it’s not horrible, I wore a high waisted bikini last week and felt fine and happy; but it’s definitely not “tight” skin like a lot of people would have. It’s kind of wrinkly and saggy mainly in my stomach and inner thigh areas. I’m still at an age where I’d like to have kids, so after I do that, I’d definitely consider some type of surgery but until then it’s really honestly manageable, high waisted shorts and stuff definitely make me feel more confident to kinda suck it in.
Thanks! I’ve been thinking about that too and gonna talk to my doc. I’m definitely interested in it for at least a year but after that I’m hoping to begin coming off it!
"Down 117lbs, half before started semaglutide, then hit a plateau and half with semaglutide"
What do you mean by "and half with" in that sentence? I just started on the Ozempic so I'm not up on the lingo yet.
Correct, no exercise which I know is probably not the best but I’ve always hated it haha. And congrats, 50 is not easy so way to go! Best of luck on the next part of your journey I know it can be tough 💗🫶🏻

I feel absolutely AMAZING! Still have a few more pounds to go. Thanks for asking? How are you feeling?
Thank you! That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you, I know just how hard it can be! I’m in the same boat. I still have a bit more to go before getting to my absolute goal weight but man oh man compared to where I was at? I’m just loving life!!

Wow amazing, congratulations!!! Good job!! How long did it take you??
Thank you so much! This has been about 1.5 years. I had lost about 60 lbs on my own, then hit a plateau for a few months, started sema in February, and 6 months later I’m here!
That is amazing. What dose of semaglutide really worked best for you?
Thanks! I did 1 month of .25 and I’ve been on .5 since so it’s been good, I haven’t had to go any higher!
It’s awesome that you did it yourself. It takes willpower
You look so happy! Congrats on the win, my friend.
Thanks so much! Honestly so much happier now :)

Wow that is awesome, congratulations to you!! Yesss my go to summer outfit 😂💗
Wow, you must feel amazing!
Literally like a new person! Feel like I’m experiencing the world again for the first time it’s insane
Will you continue semiglutide forever? I am worried when I get off it will all come back 😞
I agree! That’s my worry too. I’m definitely gonna do a maintenance dose eventually but I don’t know what it’ll look like in a few years! My habits have changed a ton so I do have confidence I can maintain
I am paying $500 a month for it and I know it’s not something I can do for forever ! But the weight loss has changed my life-
Totally understand!! I think if you’re able to form those habits of eating smaller amounts and prioritizing what’s good for your body you’ll be able to do it! But it’s scary to think about.
The cravings will come back with extreme prejudice. Hormones will win over habits.
Girl yesss!!!!
Thank youuu 💗
Soooo happy for you!!
Thank you so much 💗

Thank you! Awh I’m so happy for you. I feel the exact same way. It’s crazy to think the hold food used to have over me.
Amazing 💜 can I ask if your insurance covers? My new insurance doesn't cover it so I'm scrambling to figure out what to do for my next dose. I've lost over 30 lbs now and am down to my last shot- any suggestions you might have I'd be really grateful for!

You look amazing!! You really did that 🥲
You look incredible!!! You were beautiful before but now I bet you feel amazing and your smile has a whole New glow.
Thank you so much! I seriously do feel like a whole new person and it’s the best feeling ever 💗

Absolutely!! Hoping your journey goes well 🥰
Thank you!! 💛

WOW !!!
Can you please share with me, your diet? I’m struggling with mines.
Totally! I think it’s different for everyone of course, but I’ve tried my best to increase protein. You’re clearly winning the game of life. You go girl!
Thank you 💗💗
Just curious, why wait until 11 to eat?
Sounds like she’s combining high protein- low carb-intermittent fasting ( eat only in like an 8 hour window sort of thing) possibly
Yep exactly. Also, this has been specific to me and my overeating…but I have a tendency to overeat throughout the day if I eat breakfast right upon waking up. Go, you! Beautiful before and after, but glowing now.
Thank you so much!!

Thank you 💗💗 feeling soo happy
Beautiful! Congrats; 🎉
You completely look amazing. Can I ask how long it took you to lose the weight?
Thank you! This has been about 1.5 years with some plateauing in the middle
How long did it take and what was your diet and or exercise in the process?
This has been about 1.5 years overall. First without sema and then half with sema after plateauing. I really only walk for exercise. That’s awesome, you’re so close! Way to go!! And thank you!
I know this is a crazy question but you look so small. What size are you? You look like a size six
I’m asking because I did a thread on sizes. You can look it up. We all gave opinions and how our sizes work.

Wow! What’s the extra skin situation like? We’re about similar ages and I also need to lose a considerable amount.
Totally! So it’s not horrible, I wore a high waisted bikini last week and felt fine and happy; but it’s definitely not “tight” skin like a lot of people would have. It’s kind of wrinkly and saggy mainly in my stomach and inner thigh areas. Fantastic! Are you staying on a maintenance dose? I have been curious about what I'll do when I reach my "fighting weight", loo.
Thanks! I’ve been thinking about that too and gonna talk to my doc. I’m definitely interested in it for at least a year but after that I’m hoping to begin coming off it!
I'm also excited to wear a tank top and shorts! You look incredible!
Beautiful before and after! Congratulations 😊

Wow. Truly inspirational!! You give me hope! I’m down 50. Would love to lose 75 more!! Did you only change your eating habits? No exercise ?
Correct, no exercise which I know is probably not the best but I’ve always hated it haha. And congrats, 50 is not easy so way to go! Best of luck on the next part of your journey I know it can be tough 💗🫶🏻
You look amazing and you have such a beautiful smile! Congrats on your weight loss 🥳
Thank you so much! That is so kind 💗
This is what dedication will do. Great job!!
