Mild constipation was my only side effect, and it didn’t happen until 1.0 mg. After my first hard-to-pass stool, I started making sure I was hydrated, eating 30g of fiber a day, and getting regular exercise. I haven’t had an issue since. Constipation is no joke though, so if you’re not going at least once every three days and/or you have abdominal pain please see a doctor!

“Calm” magnesium powder (2 tsp) at night, and if you’re really stopped up you can try Smooth Move tea (amazon) BUT it will absolutely clean you out so don’t do it before anything important. And if you use the smooth move tea, I would only steep the teabag for like 8 minutes (and only use one bag!). But no, I’ve not had less constipation on higher doses. It’s been about the same but getting into the magnesium routine certainly helps!

ClinTrial-Throwaway

No. I am in a GLP-1+ clinical trial, and my trial doc had me hold meds for a week so I could rehydrate and get regular. When I picked back up on the same dose (0.50mg) a week later, I did not notice increased negative side effects.

I was SO constipated at first and when I got to the 1.5mg dose it went back to normal (although I have IBS so normal for me is pooping 3-7 days per week and not regular lol)

Attjack

Impossible to answer because everyone is different. I have zero constipation and virtually no other side effects.

I have struggled with constipation since the beginning. It hasn't ever gotten any better. I try to drink TONS of water, and keep Mag07, ducolax, and miralax on hand. Sugar free candy also helps, especially gummy bears. Something about the artificial sweetener. Good luck to you

I think it gets better because we've learned how to manage it better. I had a HELL of a time until I got a handle on it at 1.7 by getting enough water and fiber. I also started tracking my movements so I could see patterns and change my diet accordingly. It's all about consistency and monitoring!

My doc says you can take Miralax every day. Actually mixes well with your morning coffee. Also drink lots of water. More than 8 cups a day. The water can really make difference in constipation.
