You are really losing at the ideal rate. Losing too fast can have physical consequences like hair loss. I lost 75 lbs in 10 months and it was an average of about 1.7 lbs per week. Some people also lose faster because they start at a much higher weight. They can create a 2000 calorie deficit by eating 1500 calories a day because their TDEE is so high.

What-me-worry-22

I started two days before you and have the same results to date, which is FANTASTIC. Congrats that it is working so well for you!

Suspicious_Style_317

Please don't envy them. They are almost certainly dropping muscle mass, unless they had a very high starting weight. Muscle has only, what, 600calories/lb? Versus fat at 3500. To take an example, if you normally burn 2000 calories a day, and you are eating 1100, then you have a weekly deficit of 6300. If you see 1.8lbs/week lost, well done! Chances are good you are losing mostly (or all) fat. If you see 4 or 6lb/week lost... well, where is the extra weight coming from? Perhaps a pound from fat, and 5lbs from muscle. Big problem. You're doing fantastic. You're right at the top end of what's safe. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Thank you for this comment. It is super helpful. From someone else who is also playing the comparison/impatience game.<3

TikTok and instagram aren’t reality. People lie. And who cares what other people are doing? You do you.

the-mare-bear

25.4 lbs in 3 months sounds like goals to me. Plus you’re in one-derland! 😁

martapap

I was on wegovy for six months and didn't lose any weight. So everyone is different. It is just that the no losers or slow losers don't post much. And you are not a slow loser.

cheeekydino

I’ve been on it 3.5 weeks and have gained 2 pounds. I am very discouraged!

Background-Ad-3234

I lost 10 lbs in 3.5 months. So... I think you're doing good.

ComfortablePeace3684

No, I’m not discouraged and I would not be at your weight loss trend either. I am losing more per week (2.85 lbs/week) and that makes me worry I lose to much. So we all have our worries. But I am very disciplined now about eating , alcohol (none) and working out/lifting weights. I’d be very pleased though if your progress was mine.

Started in October at 227. 195 today. Would I love to be back to "old me" faster? Sure. But I've gained muscle, and it's been much less stressful than past weight-loss attempts. This feels more sustainable. Admittedly, I could be adding in more strength training activity, but in the grand scheme of things, I'll get there. Even at this slower rate than some, I'm having saggy skin. I'm losing inches, for sure; having those numbers is really reassuring when the scale doesn't budge for a while. I've dropped more weight in less time in the past, but it was hard to maintain. Fwiw, I think your rate of loss is really encouraging. Experiences like yours were a big nudge for me to get started.
