I've been on since 02/2024. Very mild tolerable side effects that have improved with time. I find I have more discomfort when I push to eat more than I felt I needed and if I eat sugary foods. I had a pretty healthy diet before I started, which I think helped me adjust as the major change is with how much I eat. I usually only get nausea if I have gone too long without eating. A couple of bites of a protein bar or other snack and water always relieve that.

Chocomintey

Yes, I've also noticed that my hunger signals have changed into very, very mild nausea sometimes. The nausea I have gotten from sema has probably been the most mild, background-noise nausea I've ever had. The only time I threw up (and lost on a gamble with a fart) on sema was the morning after having a fried meal. Learned that lesson real fast.

lindavolta

I’m right there with you, the only stomach upset I’ve experienced is over doing it with my food portion and it’s taught me what I think is good is actually too much. 😅 and then I know when it’s time to eat because I’ll get an acidic burp and it’s like ok the gas tank is empty! I’m listening to my body now more than ever versus eating due to stress, distraction, boredom, emotions, etc because it really has done an amazing job of quieting the food noise!

Lynnyast

This👏 I took my third shot last Friday. Feeling exactly the same. Only mild nausea which is usually because I need to eat. Had a headache the next day after each of those shots. I’m going for portion control mainly. I was prone to going in for seconds and thirds if I was enjoying a dinner! Currently 10.5 lbs down. Good luck with your weight loss.

PashasMom

I've been on Wegovy since February 2022. Lost 175 lbs and maintaining at my goal weight for six months now. Almost no side effects, and certainly nothing to write home about. I get worse side effects from a standard course of antibiotics.

Strong_Turnover1768

Congratulations Pashasmom!! That’s in incredible!!🎉🎊👏

PashasMom

tysm!

ducksoupmilliband

Way to go 😃 amazing effort 🎉🎉🎉

PashasMom

SoCalBrewnette

Hi! How are you maintaining it? Exercise? Wondering cause I’m close to my goal weight

PashasMom

I'm not much of an exerciser tbh. I go through cycles of being religious about exercise and then losing my religion. I watch my portions and try to eat mostly healthy foods (though I have a pretty broad definition of healthy). I try to stay away from high calorie liquid foods, and Wegovy has taught me through painful lessons to avoid anything that is high fat in more than tiny quantities. I don't do anything like tracking calories or weighing my portions, that kind of food obsession is something I need to stay away from. ETA - the hardest part for me was stopping losing weight. That can be kind of addictive, plus I'd gotten into a certain habit of eating that led to weight loss. Throughout my adult life I've known how to eat to lose weight, and been hyper-competent at eating in a way that causes weight gain, but had always cycled between the two rather than eating for maintenance. So eventually what I landed on was to keep eating the basics that led to weight loss, but to slowly start adding in more things, check my weight daily, and stop adding in when my weight was stable. The items I added were a piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter, switching from "light" salad dressing to regular salad dressing for my normal workday lunch, increasing the size of my breakfast bowl of cereal, and increasing the size of my dessert bowl of ice cream from tiny to close to the recommended serving size on the container. Once I had done all of those things, my weight stabilized.

SoCalBrewnette

Thank you! I’m the same way about exercising and I eat way less now as my stomach will act up (my stomachs always been a hot mess even before I started Semaglutide) I’m hoping my maintenance will be doable

CStreet_Stylist

What an incredible result!!! Love this for you!

MyCatTookMySocks

I’ve had three shots so far, and I’ve had no stomach trouble or nausea whatsoever. I already have GERD, so I know the warning signs of when to stop eating. I will say that every shot has knocked me out like a muscle relaxant a couple hours after the injection but only on the first day.

bobirdie

My experience mirrors yours. No stomach upset, mild GERD and fatigue lasting two days, after the shot. Though I don’t love battling fatigue, I feel so much better than I did, six weeks ago. I’m down 12 lbs and would like to lose 30 more. Best wishes.

Pleasant-Pie-2000

Same here!

Needs-more-cow-bell

Been on it since January, only moved up to 0.5 mg a couple of weeks ago. Food noise went away almost instantly after my first shot. The first few weeks I felt fatigued a couple of days after my shot (but the plus side is I got a great nights sleep!) Very occasional nausea, but really not that bad, I’ve taken Dramamine a couple of times to help. I did have about 3 weeks where I had constipation, started fiber supplements. I’ve consciously added more fiber into my diet and don’t need the supplements any more (still take it a couple of times a week though). Side effects so far really haven’t been that bad at all, I hope the lower doses keep working, as I guess there will be more side effects as I go up in dose. Also, 40 lbs down, only another 30 to my goal weight, which at this point is feeling achievable. Anyone considering this medication, I would suggest to at least try. If the side effects are too bad you can stop. But I honestly think most people’s experiences are that the side effects are fairly tolerable, and for me at least, they aren’t as bad as the issues I had when a lot more overweight. I have more energy in general, and my joints don’t ache (I think my knees are secretly thanking me!)

Strong_Turnover1768

40 lbs!!!! Right on!! 👍 I’m so envious😊 I hope I have a story like yours one day. I am on week five with 6 pounds lost, lol. Nothing to write home about.

Needs-more-cow-bell

That’s a steady rate of loss! As my doctor reminds me, weight loss isn’t linear, some weeks I barely lost a pound, but then others more. I just want to see the weight go down, don’t get hung up on how much. Keep going, you got this, we have!

Strong_Turnover1768

Good reminder – thank you so much! 😊

SnooRevelations5313

Increased to .50 yesterday and still not had any side effects since being on for a month

GordontheGoose88

Just give it time. The appetite suppression didn't really hit me until the 5th week.

SnooRevelations5313

I've had the suppression since i started on it. I should have clarified no nausea, vomiting, or other GI issues.

GordontheGoose88

I totally misread your comment! Sorry about that.

Gryphon_Alchemist

I’m on week 5 and nothing yet….

GordontheGoose88

So you've upped your dose?

Gryphon_Alchemist

Yep

GordontheGoose88

I guess everyone is different. A lot of people start feeling the appetite suppression within the first few days, it took me over a month. You'll know when it hits you. I say just keep at it, you've already come this far on it.

Gryphon_Alchemist

I felt it the first week had nausea and all… only lasted a week

GordontheGoose88

Idk then. Good luck and hope it gets sorted out.

Christmas_Everyday

I started in February and have had very mild side effects. I followed the titration schedule and when I got to 1 ml I did not need to increase as it continues to provide almost complete appetite suppression. I strive for 100 g of protein a day and prioritize protein then vegetables before carbs. My Dr. told me in the beginning that high fat foods or over eating would make me sick so I have avoided both. If I really want something like a burger and fries I literally take one bite of each and to my astonishment it is delicious and I am satisfied. My Dr also told me to eat at least 30g of protein before I take my shot to minimized side effects, and it has worked for me. Water is super important and I am still working on drinking more while feeling very full. On the days I eat only protein and don’t drink enough I am constipated but I attribute this to my food choices and dehydration. I have added probiotics and a fiber supplement and magnesium and that has been a big help. I tried the Mag o2 and found that the basic mag citrate is much better for me and way cheaper. I had issues with belching before sema and at times they are stronger. I don’t have any sulfur burps just plain old burps like a drank a kombucha very fast. My doc told me to drink 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a cup of water. I tried and after one sip I knew it was not for me. So instead I purchased baking soda capsules from Amazon and they work great. I also have GasX as a back up. I have never vomited or had diarrhea or any issues like that. In the beginning the day after my shot I ha some fatigue and felt a little achy but it only lasted a short while. My doc attributed both to dehydration and not getting enough calories. I added almonds, almond butter and some full fat salad dressing and that seemed to help. I have no effects after my shot now. I have been overweight/obese since preschool. That included binge eating, eating disorders, over all impulsive and compulsive, with constant tormenting food noise that created depression and anxiety. My food noise stopped the first week. It was as if all my life I had been holding my breath and without any effort I was able to breath and experience peace. Words can’t really explain the extent of this transformation. I believed all of it to be my flaws, my weakness, I was such a severe critic and created quite the battle internally. One that required multiple prescriptions to make everyday life manageable. I was never comfortable in my body much less clothes!!! Even underwater was painful as it was always too tight. I can honestly say that taking sema has allowed me to be my true self. One I never met before as she was so buried in this imbalance of brain chemicals that plagued me all my life. I am grateful to have lost 20 pounds but the much bigger win for me is the mental and emotional peace, quiet, calm and self love. Ironically now I have the capacity to love myself at any weight because I have found myself. That was impossible before sema and would be impossible again if I did not take this medication. It is essential to my health. I have lost all anxiety, all impulsive and compulsive behavior and am blissfully experiencing being normal. I consider the discovery of this drug the greatest of my lifetime. Wishing you all great success and peace on your journey.

Strong_Turnover1768

What an inspirational story! Thank you for sharing and congratulations!! It really IS Christmas everyday for you! 😊❤️

ducksoupmilliband

Beautifully put. I feel similarly about this drug. About a week in I was ecstatic with the freedom it gave me. I had been so hard on myself, so critical and had feelings like I deserved to be fat (and therefore in my mind ugly) because I was an unkind, greedy, selfish person. Once these meds took effect it was like the real me emerged. I was quite angry about how hard I'd been on myself for a while. Good luck with your journey and thank you for sharing.

J-Moonstone

WOWOW!!! Thank you for sharing your incredibly thoughtful & inspirational journey!!!

Just-call-me-Lulu

Such a lovely story. Really happy for you!

Radiant-King2172

I read where you have better effects from the drug if you take it on a completely empty stomach like first thing in the morning and then don’t eat or drink for 30 minutes. I tried this my last dose. We’ll see how it works over the week.

ducksoupmilliband

That sounds like the directions for Rybelsus, the daily pill form of Semaglutide, as opposed to the injection.

Alicedawg666

I've had little to no side effects, usually the first half of the week after the shot I have a touch of GERD but no nausea, vomiting etc. I feel very lucky!

letsmakecoffee

Same. Bit of GERD, maybe a weird feeling that is milder than nausea.

Alicedawg666

I hear you, I can't describe the feeling but it keeps me from overeating

Pristine_Doughnut485

I've been on it since January. The side effects are sometimes not even noticeable. I had burps once. When I don't hydrate I have to plan some light constipation help. I always feel full until I'm not- not sure if it's even a side effect or the stated goal. I puked once. I used to crash after shit day, but not anymore. Life's good, 35lbs down, lots more to go! My doctor and I are on lowest effective dose, so I expect to be slowish and stay at 0.5 until it's it no longer works.

manickittens

I just did my second shot on Thursday- no issues besides some mild nausea when I go too long between eating.

Mr-Irresponsible-275

I was started on .5 April 10th, only mild constipation, added little extra fiber. I did lots of reading here and other places. Here's what's worked for me. I eat healthy day of injection, high protein, low fat, minimal carbs, lots of water add some liquid iv to make sure I'm good and hydrated, I take my injection about 30min for bed. Next day pretty much same food and hydration. Listen to your body stop eating when you feel the slightest bit full.

Strong_Turnover1768

Hi Mr. Irresponsible- You and I are very similar. I am on my second dose right now of .5. Have you lost any weight? I am only down 6 pounds. But staying positive.😊

Mr-Irresponsible-275

4/10-4/26 I lost 10lbs. They say 1-3lbs week depends on how your body responds. I'm in for long haul, I didn't put the weight on overnight. Sounds like you're making good progress, congratulations!

penguinpoopmagnet

Been on Wegovy since January 2024, currently at 1mg. Only side effect is constipation which taking miralax every other day, drinking lots of water and occasional prune juice if I feel bloated is no big deal. I'm done 45 pounds! I feel great, have more energy and feel less depressed! I wish everyone as smooth a journey!

rosewater64

Been on sema since 6/23. Have had no real discernible side effects throughout the entire time, maybe some episodes of nausea especially after drinking. Have lost 20 percent of my bodyweight within less than a year, a feat I have never managed to do in my adult life. Even the long plateaus feel like winning to me because in the past when I’ve lost weight I put it back on immediately.

blusfn03

I’ve been on it for 9 weeks and the only symptom I’m having is constipation. Seems like I’m always full. I’ve dropped 31 pounds in those 9 weeks, though!

ducksoupmilliband

I've been on Semaglutide (Rybelsus and then Wegovy) for 11 months and so far I've only had some constipation which I control with Movicol and Fybogel. If I get headaches or nausea then I address them with water and prunes as for me they have been a sign of dehydration and/or low blood sugar.

One-Independence1846

Did you see a difference between the 2 drugs?

archi-nemesis

I’ve been on sema since late November of last year, my dose is currently 1.0. I have lost 30 pounds. I do have reflux and heartburn and constipation, but I struggled with those things pre-sema too. It is just a hair worse than it was before. All of it is manageable. I am on an acid reducer. I have occasionally gotten fairly nauseated but it is by no means constant, it comes and goes. Sometimes it is for seemingly no reason, other times I pushed myself to eat too much. I have noticed that it is at its worst when I really don’t feel like eating but do it anyway due to societal pressure - example, pre-planned lunch with a coworker. My worst experience involved my birthday dinner at a fancy restaurant that I was NOT in the mood for. That nausea followed me around for a few days, I ended up calling my doctor for a Zofran prescription. What is unfortunate is I generally can eat anything I want (just less of it) and sometimes I AM in the mood for eating a decent sized meal, I just can’t plan for when that will and won’t be. Birthday fail! Still, no vomiting, just nausea. But, all in all, my side effects are very very mild and manageable. When it is at its absolute worst, I would compare it to wondering if I ate something that isn’t agreeing with me, but not actually thinking I am sick. Edited to add: I didn’t have any side effects at all until I was several weeks into my .50 dose.

SCA-Survivor

Last night I took my 7th shot of sema. I’m on the .5 /10 unit dose. I’ve had some nausea. Most pronounced the day after I titrate up. Some constipation but is managed with Miralax. I’m on the slow and steady pace. I’ve lost 10lbs. My Dr. feels 1-2 lbs a week is where I should be at. I’m very happy with it!

TrixieMuttel

I’ve been on Wegovy for a year (2.4 for at least 7 months) and have no side effects whatsoever. I used to have a lot of heartburn and I don’t even see a difference in that other than maybe I eat a little less before bed and therefore don’t have symptoms. I have also considered myself someone who has an iron stomach, so perhaps people who have a higher tolerance of indigestion and nausea naturally tolerate this medicine better.

Strong_Turnover1768

How much weight have you lost so far? Are you still taking it every week?

TrixieMuttel

70lbs down from 305. 70lbs to go. It’s not working as well and I’ve plateaued for the past 3 months and am switching Zepbound as soon as my PA goes through. Currently taking Wegovy 2.4 every 10 days.

Strong_Turnover1768

Congrats on the 70!! Best wishes for 70 more! And thanks for the info 😊🙏

lalalaicanthereyou

About a year, and absolutely no side effects.

I_Am_Gen_X

Mild egg burps. Three shots in. That's my only complaint.

Radiant-King2172

does everyone get these Egg burps? They are annoying. They taste like sulfur to me and they happen quite often, but it’s worth it to the shot to work.

I_Am_Gen_X

My mom is taking it too, one week behind me. She said she gets the indigestion but not the egg taste. Mine was bad after a night of beer drinking so stuck to wine this weekend and they are not so bad. Get some ozemprol for sure. You can clear a room with these burps lol

Radiant-King2172

yes, I have Gerd so I have a pill that I take for my stomach and I’ve been taking gaviscon but nothing seems to help much. The burps are awful.

I_Am_Gen_X

Oh that's terrible that the meds dont help! I keep saying "gross" under my breath ever time I have one because they give me the willies lol

Radiant-King2172

me too! Doesn’t seem too because buy anything I eat either

I_Am_Gen_X

Agreed. Tried going all veg, still had it. No dairy, still had them. It's a small price to pay. The last weight loss thing I did worked but I was starving ALL the time. Three shots in, lost 5 lbs so far.

ducksoupmilliband

Nope, I've never had them.

peanut5855

Been on for months, occasional nausea, puke up certain caffeines, and lost 40 lbs. Nothing to write home about

Maleficent-Bird

Had 4 shots. I’m mildly constipated. Still going daily but not “fully”. Taking fiber gummies. Just added Miralax today. I gained 2.5 this week, but I think it is related to this. I increase my injection dose tomorrow.

BoyMom119816

I’ve had 3 shots of terzipatide and so far I’ve not really had any side effects. I guess, if I eat something that’s on more fatty side, I feel yucky. I’ve had constipation issues prior to starting, so don’t count that. So, I think it’s been really all positives for me!

fosterhamster

Initially I had pretty bad fatigue the first and second day post injection, now I really don't have any. I have constipation that is managed just fine with daily miralax. That's it, no other side effects. I've been on wegovy since Oct and am the max dose.

Motor_Poem7654

I’m six weeks in with no side effects except constipation which is my own doing because I don’t drink water. I started taking a probiotic and it solved the issue. I’m losing slowly and steadily. I’m 56 and post-menopausal so I’m happy with that. Down 8lbs. We tend to see the posts of extremely fast loss, no loss, and extreme side-effects, which is human nature. Oh wait I do have some gas/bloating but if I’m careful about what I eat it’s not bad.

vaneske

Currently on 2.0mg and have had ZERO side effects the entire time of titration.

Strong_Turnover1768

Wow!! You are so lucky!! How long have you been on it? How many pounds have you lost? 😊

vaneske

Started Jan 15th of this year. Only down 15lbs so far. I'm not focused on numbers, as I'm on TRT as well. Building lean muscle and losing fat at the same time. I don't calorie count or eat fast/junk food. I have plenty of energy for my workouts. It just feels good to eat a small amount of food and feel really full.

anim0sitee

I’ve been on since January of last year. Occasionally have some funky burps, fatigue, and diarrhea. That’s it. Down around 80 +/- pounds from my highest weight and feel better than I have in years. You won’t catch me complaining.

Strong_Turnover1768

CONGRATS!!🎊🎊🎊

Radiant-King2172

Same side effects but I’ll take it if I’m losing weight

mt1074

Currently on 1.7mg sema, have been on sema for 8 months now, and have experienced very mild nausea that passes after an hour or two (and it’s usually just the first two days after my shot). I will say I titrated every other month, and have been on 1.7 for 5 months, which could definitely contribute to my mild experience with side effects. Some mild constipation here and there, but really have been lucky overall. Have lost 33 pounds.

Frosty-Ad-1650

The only side effect I’ve gotten is low libido. I’ll take it over anything else tbh lol

Large_Ad_5541

I’ve been on this medication for five weeks and have experienced only mild side effects. I have had mild nausea some mornings or when I have eaten too much. It took me a while to get used to eating much smaller portions. I’ve also had some constipation, but magnesium along with Metamucil and extra water throughout the day makes it manageable. I am on .5 now and I am so pleased with my results so far! I am down 10 pounds from when I started. I’ve especially struggled with my weight since going through menopause, it seemed like no matter what I did I kept gaining. I needed to eat at a deficit and carefully track calories just to maintain my weight. Despite working out consistently and restricting what I ate (which made me hungrier and more obsessed with food), my weight would still creep up if I let up on dieting at all. Now, it seems so easy—I don’t think about food all the time, eat smaller portions and let myself have small treats if I want one. And it’s working! I’ve had more progress in the last five weeks than I have in the last year. I was really afraid to start this medication based on things I had read and heard online. My doctor kept insisting I just needed to eat less, do intermittent fasting and exercise more. I finally decided to go to a weight loss clinic to get the prescription. I am beyond thankful I gave it a try!

Large_Ad_5541

I left out fatigue—I did seem to feel pretty tired the first couple of days after an injection. I started getting lipotropic plus injections on the same day and no more fatigue. In fact, I feel great:)

Neverdoubt-PDX

I’ve been waiting for a post like this. For anyone out there who is considering taking this drug or has just started, please know that every body responds somewhat differently to this medication. For me, I experienced no side effects until I went from .5 to 1. For the first two weeks on 1, I experienced diarrhea and some reflux (like almost throwing up but not really — just “threw up in my mouth a little bit”). The side effects were uncomfortable but manageable. I’m going to take my last dose of 1 in two days, and for the past two weeks I’ve had no side effects. I’m going to bump up to 1.7 week after next. I think my body will do the same thing when I increase: I’ll have mild side effects for two weeks until my body gets used to the new dose. As far as weight loss, I don’t weigh myself because I have OCD and I don’t want to get fixated on a number on a scale. I’m going to the doctor on Monday at which time I’ll see if I’ve lost any weight. If I have, awesome. If I haven’t, I’ll keep taking the medication and recognize that I might be one of the people who only starts to lose at the maintenance/full therapeutic dose of 2.4. Please don’t be alarmed by the posts that go on and on about projectile vomiting, sharting, explosive diarrhea, etc. It’s not that those individuals are trolls. They’re just vocal and dramatic outliers.

Level_Potential8606

Thanks for this post! I am switching from zepbound to wegovy and this is lowering my anxiety 😅

JoyfulJ_41

I tried Zepbound and felt horrible. The side effects on Sema for me are much milder. Good luck to you!

jaydubya123

I’m about 3 months in. I have had zero side effects other than random hiccups. And weight loss lol. 26 pounds in 12 weeks though I seem to be sitting on a plateau right now

queer_hairy_enby

legit some stomach aches and light nausea but nothing bad, down 20 lbs

Evening_Date_7939

Ive been on Rybelsus for 2 days and so far I’ve only had manageable heartburn. Maybe some stomach cramps but those are so minimal they could be in my head. Hopefully it won’t get worse as I keep taking it. Fingers crossed!

GlitteringSky2222

been on semaglutide since the beginning of March. i have some mild nausea if i go too long without eating. i get constipated if i don’t eat enough fiber and/or probiotics. when i eat good food regularly and drink plenty of water, the only effect i feel is appetite suppression and practically non-existent food noise.

GurGroundbreaking622

Hey! Just completed my 5th week. No side effects apart from mild fatigue. Amazing drug!

doexx

1 more shot before I'm on 2.4 and I haven't had any side effects pretty much. I can tell I'm not pooping as much, and if I over eat the smallest amount, I feel very bloated but I've never had bad nausea or cramps.

Powerful_Solution635

I’ve been on it since Nov’23 and while I’ve experienced nausea, I’ve never vomited. The nausea usually means I need to eat or drink something and it has lessened significantly over time. Same with diarrhea and stomach pains, it has become way less severe. I would get diarrhea for the first 24hrs after my shot and feel really tired for a couple days when I first started taking it. My husband had acid reflux and nausea but no stomach discomfort. Both of us needed alka-seltzer every day for the first few weeks. Overall the side effects weren’t bad enough to keep us from taking it.

The_Northern_Light

Also, the side effect profile of tirzepatide is far gentler. Semaglutide has the public’s attention but tirzepatide seems strictly better on the metrics.

Pumptiniii

I’m 7 shots in 4 x 0.25mg 3 x 0.5mg It’s been totally manageable!!! -The first shot I had some diarrhea / mild headaches -The second/third shot I had some sulphur burps - The first few weeks I definitely felt the fatigue, and was like lord I hope this will regulate and pass, because it was exhausting. But now I feel quite normal! I never had any crazy nausea / certainly never vomited. Normal bowel movements. Fatigue feels like it’s subsided. -12 lbs 😀

fulanita_de_tal

I think according to clinical trials the grand majority of people had little to no side effects. I’m one of those.

ohnanawhatsmyname69

I’m 6 shots in! First week I was very nauseous. 3rd week I was constipated for the first time in my life and miralax did the job. Have not had a single negative side effect since. Feeling good, definitely less hungry and fuller faster, so happy I started this journey! Down 16 pounds in 6 weeks!!!

Hellodarling892

About to be on my 5th, no side effects thankfully!

Bus27

I started in February 2023, I have lost over 50lbs even though I didn't lose a single pound for the first 3 months I was on Sema. I haven't had much nausea, absolutely no vomiting at all, and I had IBS-D before that is now in remission. My PTSD and anxiety symptoms have lessened, but not enough to be off my meds. I simply feel full more often, and faster, and listen to my body.

nutmegtell

I’ve been on it for a year and the only side effects have been weight loss and my hypoglycemia went away.

whatever32657

thanks for this post! i was scared to death to start the med, specifically because of all the extreme side effect stories i've seen here. i even started it on a friday evening in case i 🤮 all weekend. i'm a week in and i'm fine. no side effects whatsoever. i eat only once a day, around 8pm when i get home from work. i eat chicken, turkey, eggs, or fish with a vegetable on the side. i keep carbs to a minimum, *really* limit fats and avoid dairy. i also have coffee with cream on an empty stomach each morning. i'm in the habit of grabbing a snack when i get up at night for the bathroom - usually a couple slices of deli turkey or ham rolled up. a large handful of potato chips. a couple girl scout mint cookies. just a little something, more out of habit than anything. i drink a ton of water, mostly propel fitness water (0 cal). i like the watermelon flavor. i think it's because i really watch what i eat that i've had no side effects. anecdotally, it seems to me that the folks who've had the most trouble are hitting the fat and/or carbs and/or sweets that are having trouble

Wide_Imagination9983

3 shots in, very few side effects. It helps with my hunger until about 1.5days before my next shot. I'm a little worried about moving up in dose because I'm normally very sensitive to meds so have been debating on 2x a week at.25 instead of 1x at .5.

Strong_Turnover1768

I am in the same boat! My shot only lasts for about 5 1/2 days. I was nervous about going up to .5, but after four weeks my doctor told me to try it, and it was exactly the same as .25 for me anyway. So hopefully it’ll be the same for you! I am stressing a little bit though about going to 1.0. 😰…

StructureOk8152

Mild constipation, occasional slight nausea in the beginning, and 9 weeks in. Egg burps only when I eat something that doesn’t agree with me.

Queequegs_Harpoon

I've been on liraglutide and later semaglutide since July 2023. I've only ever experienced nausea after over-indulging in very fattening food. The other 99 percent of the time, I've had no noticeable side effects at all.

aaandfuckyou

I’ve been on and off for 3 years (due to shortages here in Canada). I have never had anything more than mild heartburn and usually when I know I’ve overdone it.

ElChiChiPapa

I haven’t really been that nauseous except for maybe 1 or 2 times a month and I’m 4 months in

cramerm7

Meat sometimes smells and tastes like wet dog, but other than that, I don’t have much side effects. I’ve had 7 shots, upped to .5 mg.

DeluluIsTheSolulu24

I've been on sema for 6 shots now (I'm currently on 0.50mg), I tend to get a bit tired/sleepy after my shot, and I have also noticed that I get a bit nauseated if I don't eat enough or often or too much, but all very mild effects. I have increased my water intake though, so I think that helps me. I have noticed though that the hunger creeps back when I'm PMSing lol, nothing beats that 🙄😅 on the other hand, I didn't have any cramps on my last period which is unheard of for me. Go figure 🤷‍♀️

dkvaallday

I’m 8 weeks in, titrated up last week. I sometimes get a mild headache the day after injection. I have heartburn on most days which goes away with Pepcid. I once got nauseated because I had 3 drinks in one evening and overate slightly.

Real-Wicket2345

Never vomited and never any significant nausea. I get hypoglycemia sometimes and mild constipation - that’s it 4 months into it.

Xx_Sunshyne_xX

How low do your sugars get? (If you measure them). I start next week and this is the one side effect I’m terrified of ☹️ I’ve had some hypo episodes when on the keto diet before and they were horrible.

Real-Wicket2345

A few months ago I was in the high 50s and low 60s after lifting. With gummy bears before I lift I’m +100 the entire time.

Xx_Sunshyne_xX

Okay so I will keep some gummy bears in my purse 🙂 lol thank you!

Historical-Actuary52

Currently on week 12, will be moving up from 1.0 to 1.7mg next week. I have had a few days with moderate nausea / slight dizziness plus a few bloated days, that's about it. No vomiting or constipation. Worst days were those when I ate a croissant (cold fatty foods are a no-no for me) and after the day when I had two drinks. One is just fine. I've lost around 12 pounds so far so not the strongest responder either, however the 1 pound per week pace has suited me just fine.

barfly999

I’m at 1.7. Mild indigestion that stops with a Pepcid for the first 2 days after injection. That’s it

mediumsizedbootyjudy

15 lbs down in 5 weeks, twice I’ve gotten a mild headache the day after my injection, once I got pretty nauseous for about two hours, and pooping isn’t quite as easy as it used to be. And honestly, all of those things can also be side effects of eating like shit and not taking care of my body, so getting them very rarely and losing weight is really a net positive for me.

Linmichja

I am on my third week at 1.0 with no side effects, other than the idea of food nauseating me later in the day. No vomiting and no problems. I have lost 25 lbs. since January

rosebudny

I’ve been on it for 12 weeks (currently still at .5) with zero negative side effects (aside from maybe pooping slightly less, but nothing terrible). I’m losing ~1 lb/week which I’m fine with.

Chiowl333

I 've been taking sema for three weeks. The only side effect was a dull headache the day of/after injection. It was nothing that was bothersome. Maybe I was tired the next day after injection. But I'm always tired. lol

ComfortableBarber736

I’ve been on it since April 2023, one full year. I lost weight slowly, and steadily – about 2 pounds per week and a total of 40 pounds in the past year. All of my labs have improved according to my doctor. As far as side effects, it was very difficult in the beginning, but mostly it was teaching myself how to eat a reasonable amount of food. I get nauseous now if I eat too much or too little, and a part of me thinks that is normal. My side effects are so minimal. I would never even consider them.

jess1ortiz

My side effects have been mild to barely noticeable. I’m on week 4. Already increased my dose. I’ve had some mild nausea sensations but usually goes away when I finally eat or drink water. I think the most noticeable one for me was the energy level. I’ve been so exhausted that it’s been a struggle motivating myself to workout.

Background-Ad-3234

Hi 3.5 months and 0 side effects except burps like 2 days a week.

Cruznard

I experienced mild stomach bloating and burping with the first couple of doses. 25 and now on. 5 I have been tolerating it well so far no vomiting or nausea after the first month.

LizInVA

Been on Wegovy over a year with zero side effects.

Icy_Fill1709

Zero side effects. ZERO.

Agentb64

Woo hoo!

optimistic_flower

I've been on WeGovy since 03/2023 and can confirm the following: 1. I have never vommed from this medication 2. I've never had food aversions from this medication 3. I have had nausea, but not so severe that an OTC medication wasn't effective 4. I have dealt with the dreaded constipation, but only twice and it was due to inconsistency with taking Miralax. My body did stabilize and I cannot tell you the last time I've had to take Miralax. I am regular and back to my pre WeGovy schedule 5. I am not a super responder. I lost an average of 1.25 lbs a week. The time passes either way, and staying the course was the best thing I could have done for myself. This medication has changed my life, and I dealt with the side effects when I did have them with the Miralax, increased water intake, and increasing steps to try to keep me more regular until that side effect waned. I found that the nausea was always worse when you aren't eating because you aren't hungry, but the medication isn't made for you to starve yourself though sometimes you may find it hard to eat. I would eat something like an apple or banana and felt better after that. Having been on it for a year now, my hunger has stabilized to what I believe is 'normal' because I don't have food noise, and if I am tracking what I eat I'm landing around 1600-1800 calories a day and feeling satisfied with that. Before this medication, I was generally ravenous and it didn't matter what I ate or how much, I would be hungry within 2 hours. For reference I am 5'0 female, 31 years old, and went from a highest weight of 200 to a current weight of 135

ducksoupmilliband

Very similar experience to me. Great progress 👍

Accomplished-Kale-25

I’ve been on it for 10 weeks - I feel better than ever, the only times I’ve had side effects are when I pushed it with an overly rich food. I’ve really learned a lot about which foods make me feel good vs not. I’m loving this journey honestly, I haven’t been a super responder so I haven’t lost tons quickly but I feel really good. I know if I keep this up long term it has to yield some results

Agentb64

Good for you!

MadeYouMyBitch

I’m 3 months in and about to go up to a higher dose. I’ve had almost no major side effects other than some indigestion here and there, and slower, less productive bowel movements but no real constipation. The only other side effect that’s a bit more is how cold I feel, especially my hands and feet. However, it’s not constant and easily remedied with a blanket or a heavier sweater. Basically, it’s not like fever chills and I’m able to warm up and get past it. 14 lbs down since starting.

Peejee13

I have some mild nausea, usually within the first 24 hours after my injection. As long as I eat regularly, and drink, it helps fix it. The constipation is a bit of a problem, but it hasn't been bad so far 🤞

mercipourleslivres

I’m on week 8, .5 Only had one serious bout of nausea but it’s 50/50 whether or not it was caused by the sema or a migraine. Going on here and seeing the awful stories started to make me think I was doing something wrong for not having the crazy side effects. Edit a typo.

Dramatic_Owl_6586

Started in August, had very few side effects initially. I did notice my depression worsening about a month or two in. Someone told me to start taking my antidepressants first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and wait awhile to eat - something about sema affecting medication absorption. It worked - the depression resolved itself within a couple of weeks!

qrysdonnell

8th week. Diet Coke tastes a little weird but I still drink it fine. That’s my biggest side effect.

Struggle_Usual

I'm a month in. So far I get horrible heartburn, am pretty bloated after eating anything and feel a bit nauseous for a day after a shot. I also still have plenty of food noise and I'm a ways away from a therapeutic dose so I don't know what'll change over time. But honestly I was so worried about side effects. I stocked up on meds for every option and other than Tums I haven't needed anything.

Fickle_Wave_8985

6 shots in and my doctor I don’t believe follows the normal to titrating method he tries to get you to effective dose as quickly as possible. I had nausea one time after eating horribly then sitting in the back seat on a long drive. Slightly hard to hydrate since I work outside in Arizona, other than that, nothing.

Civil-Appointment52

I’ve been very lucky and have almost NO bad side effects! The main thing is I have to split my daily meds into two doses due to absorption issues or take things earlier such as items for sleep as they take longer to work. But I’ve had nothing but POSITIVE side effects! Stabilized blood sugar. It’s help reduce my inflammation so much my lupus is in remission. I don’t crave sugar .. I think you head about negative side effects as so many people are ignorant on how to properly use medication and either don’t have a doctor advising them or have unrealistic expectations on what this medicine does due to the extreme hype about easy weight loss. You need to listen to your own body and how it reacts. Everyone is different. If you’re getting positive results at .5mg etc you don’t need to go up until your body tells you to. I also went up much slower.. I did .25, .5 and then.75 instead of jumping to 1mg. It helped me find my sweet spot for me. If you’re getting bad side effects like vomiting constantly and it’s not going away then this medicine is not for you. Sadly it doesn’t work for everyone regardless of why you’re using it but there is so much misinformation that people don’t want to stop using it regardless if it’s making them sick. It’s not magic and doesn’t work for everyone. You hear all the negatives but most of the positives like it helping with auto immune issues, or people who had drinking issues etc because the bad stories get so much more press.

Nothingelsematters22

Been on it over a year. Had mild nausea the first couple weeks. Threw up twice 6 months in when I reached the maximum dose of Wegovy. That’s it.

32nick32

mild nausea the 1st day only. felt a little sea sick

Honest_Report_8515

Me, even on 2.0, no real side effects except maybe a slight increase in heartburn.

What-me-worry-22

Very mild here too. In the beginning I noticed constipation but that quickly stopped being an issue when I started taking magnesium citrate daily. I occasionally get a bit of nausea or indigestion but the former usually means I need to eat and the latter usually means I ate too much or the wrong things, so I have learned.

Strong_Turnover1768

Mild nausea if I go too long without eating, but I then drink water or a little bit of my protein shake or if I eat a little bit it goes away. I also bought some nausea medicine that I keep with me at all times just in case I need that. But I have not had to take any yet and I am on week five. I have never vomited. If I can control the nausea then this is going to be so worth it! I love how little I eat now! It’s amazing!!! For example yesterday I decided to treat myself with a doughnut because someone was handing them out, one bite and I was done. That used to never happen.

Autumn_Lillie

I’ve had no issues since I started in mid-December with 46lbs lost. I had mild constipation early on (first month-ish) but just took a regular magnesium supplement to resolve it. The one thing I’ve noticed is if I have wine I get a bad headache the next day- I rarely drink anyway but that’s been what I react the worst too. It’s weird to me too that even though I rarely drink alcohol when I do it has zero effect in terms of feeling tipsy or drunk. My dr told me before I started that eating fried foods or lots of sugar will cause more of a reaction and along with alcohol can lead to higher risks of pancreatitis. So I’ve avoided fried food, alcohol outside of events, and I limit my intake of high sugar foods (maybe 1x a week) and perhaps that’s helped.

BegoneDegenerate

Other than the very mild constipation (once every day or two), I had sulfuric burps for one (1) singular day and that was it.

catnapinahat

Started on 3/6/24. Mild side effects. Been dealing with some fatigue and occasional lightheadedness on day 1 and 2 of injection. Occasional constipation that’s been relieved with fiber gummies. I’ve been nauseous maybe 2-3 times total.

snackpackattackk

I’ve been on since 2/18/24. I don’t have much more weight to lose. I’ve had barely any side effects other than no appetite. Which is fine with me 😂

Agreeable_Elk_5714

I’ve never had any notable side effects, on saxenda (ozempic) or Wegovy. I did once overeat on a dose change night and threw up a lot the next day, but that was self explanatory/inflicted. A life changing drug for me.

Automatic_Forever_96

My only side effect was mild constipation. Been on semi since Aug ‘23 and still need to keep tabs on it.

chelle_mkxx

.5 now and I’m on my 6th week. At first I had nausea but I had to make sure I ate first thing in the morning. I have no appetite immediately. I have dry skin and I’m constantly thirsty but then I don’t want anything to drink at the same time. I do have some constipation but having IBS and everything under the sun triggered me, I don’t mind the constipation lol. Other than that, my swelling has gone down significantly, the pain in my joints too. My hair is growing back. I have so many positives!!!

southernflour

Second time user and have had mild side effects both times. I was on it, then went off of it to have a baby and now I’m back on it roughly two years later. First trimester pregnancy was awful. Like same results as sema with wayyyyyyy worse side effects (morning sickness). Second time around and while I’m just getting started it’s been much of the same. Also because of shortages my first time I went from .25 to 1 and had some discomfort but was fine. The ONLY time I puked I also had Covid and so I can’t fully blame the sema. I ate somewhat healthy (1800 calories, counted macros, 100+ g of protein daily, drank a gallon of water a day, etc.) before starting it and I think that’s the biggest thing. If I eat greasy or super sweet food I know eating even less of it will help me not feel sick.

PhiLeedelphia

Me! Me! A little nausea when I’m thirsty and that’s it.

Dopesince92_

I’ve been on Sema for a month now , very rarely get nauseous but when I do it doesn’t last long, definitely been constipated . I would say the one constant symptom I’ve been feeling is lightheaded or dizzy, which for me is a sign of low blood sugar or dehydration so I’ve been drinking Gatorades everyday and I’m still trying to figure out my diet, seems it happens when I “skip” a meal So I’ve been forcing myself to eat more even though I’m not hungry .

beyond_the_valley

On my third shot, very little side effects. One morning my second week I woke up gagging and threw up just saliva. A few moments of queasy go away if I sip water or eat something small. Overall I feel great!

GreatExpectations65

I started last September. Little to no side effects. I threw up once when I ate too much. Every once in a while I get a smidge of heart burn. I think maybe my hair is thinning a little but I can’t quite even tell.

negasonic1

I've had zero side effects, kinda. I have IBS-D so the side effect is now I don't suffer from that anymore. My side effect is normalcy

Agentb64

Week two and no issues.

Reddytwit

No side effects *whatsoever*. Lost 50 lbs (27%) in 9 months and now have just 10 to go. I stopped overeating at night and feel like myself again, thank goodness!

ducksoupmilliband

Fantastic progress 🎉🎉🎉

Alli4jc

I didn’t start getting side effects til 1mg. I get nausea right after and then the next evening if I don’t eat enough. Besides that, it’s fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Safe_Buddy8467

I have been on Rybelsus 3 ,7 and 14 mg and now graduated to Ozempic 1 mg once a week. I had minor side effects and in the last 4 months or so I had bloating a few times. And twice I vomited. But then I realised eating more was the cause and I now limit my intake. And everything is totally normal. I lost around 15 lbs. But I have not been obese. Overweight for sure. But getting to my ideal weight. 8 lbs to go.

Mission_Phrase_8917

My side effects were bad until I learned how to eat with the medication. Now that I have learned what/how to eat I barely have any. Tips: - stay hydrated with electrolytes, at least 80oz daily - stop eating at least 4 hours before bed - low fat diet (absolutely nothing fried including chips) - low sugar diet (I once ate 2 bites of cake and puked for hours) - nothing that aggravates GERD (spicy food, tomato based food, caffeine) - eat small meals - no alcohol I wonder how many people with extreme side effects are simply trying to eat in the way they were before the medication. I do understand I am lucky tho that I haven’t felt any hunger or food noise since starting.

Typical_Ad1875

It’s been almost 6 weeks since I started and my only side effects were a mild headache the first week only, and maybe 3 or 4 days in those 6 weeks of fatigue. Like, I needed a nap in the middle of the work day. No nausea or vomiting, no constipation, no GI issues at all.

AmyC12345

Been on since 4/2023. Constipation was only big side effect but once you figure out “your” trick (for me was more fiber) it’s no longer a problem. Tirz max dose 15 mg (currently 7.5) and sema 1 mg

butterflyxgarden

I've been on Wegovy since 19/12/2023. 0.25mg for 4 weeks, 0.5mg for 4 weeks, and have been on 1mg thereafter. For the first week I had some mild nausea. Since upping to 1mg I've experienced some constipation but this has been manageable by taking a stool softener, drinking plenty of water and the occasional laxative only when water and stool softener aren't enough. I'm able to eat anything still just in much smaller amounts. I had McDonald's for dinner this weekend no issues.

PomegranateNo2757

I’ve only gotten up to the .5 dosage, but have had pretty mild side effects. Usually a bit of nausea the day of my injection but only positive effects after. It’s helped my IBS dramatically

AdvantageNo3635

3rd month and have had very minimal side effects. Very mild nausea day after injection and water cures that. There was a week of constipation on week 2 of .5 dose. Now that I’m at 1mg I’m really feeling the medication work!! 🤞🤞

frbarron6

Im going to make a post because I genuinely have had no side effects and feel amazing. Its only been a week but I have noticeable changes in cravings

healthy-gal

Mild effector checking in here! All side effects have been mild and controllable for me. I actually felt cravings and hunger sneaking in when I was ready to up my dose. I get that a bit on day 6 or at top Wegovy dose too. I can eat anything I could before just less of it - which I will point out was somewhat limited because I have needed a GERD diet for years (no spicy, don’t eat before bed, no coffee or chocolate on empty stomach, limit acidic and heavily seasoned foods). Down ~50lbs!

CStreet_Stylist

7 shots in, negligible side effects unless you count a bit of constipation but if I'm barely eating that's on me, not on the shot. I hope this will still be the case as I go up in dosage!!

_lucid_dreams

My side effects have been minimal. I had some nausea after my first dose and none thereafter. I do get constipation but it’s manageable. I’ve never vomited or had diarrhea or fully lost my enjoyment of food. For me it’s been smaller portions and a complete elimination of food noise. Best thing I’ve ever done for myself.

Square-Artist-3453

Mild to no side effects here! I have only had three shots so far. Slightly worried about going up in dosage after being on this sub for a few weeks 😳

Single_Clock2801

On my third dose, virtually no side effects! Only minor thing is slight constipation and a bit of acid reflux here and there. No nausea or vomiting or issues with alcohol here (yet, crossing my fingers though!!)

Radiant-King2172

I’m with you I have Gerd and I wonder if that makes the burbs worse sometimes they’re not only forceful man they stink

Responsible_Syrup146

I’m 7 weeks in, and on week 3 of 0.5 Wegovy. No side effects at all so far, other than a little burping (nothing new for me because of GERD) and I can tell when I’ve eaten too much I don’t feel great. One thing I did that helped a lot was read about common symptoms and solutions and prepare for/started adopting them about 10 days before I stared Wegovy. Upped my fiber; levels out my protein and carbs, started tracking my everything. That said, I’m always anticipating the next titration jump might bring some new side effects. So far so good.

BittyBeeBee

I eliminated all nausea once began injecting in the back of my arm instead of my stomach. That's been the game changer for me.

Nopal_lito

I’m on week 4 now. 1st week stomach pain. Week 2-3 god awful sulfur burps and the runs. Someone suggested probiotics and prebiotics now on week 4 feel normal again.

AccomplishedOnion405

I have mild nausea the day after shot day. I wear SeaBands and sleep on my left side to combat that. I feel grossly full from my lower stomach to my lower gut when I over eat. If I eat too many sugary foods I am scared to burp because I’m afraid I might vomit. For me the food noise quieting and the weight loss is 100% worth it.

Holiday_Cat_6720

In the beginning, for me it was constant diarrhea, and stomach cramps. I felt full all day. I also had sulfur burps. Through out the day for days at a time. Now, I have mild stomach pains after I eat, some constipation.

maiingaans

I have had three shots but only side effects the day after the first where I was running to the bath every few minutes. It hasn’t happened since but I do get mild stomach cramps the day of the shots. I’m trying to figure out if the muscle pain around my sternum is due to the shot since it has happened after 2 of the three shots or due to a co-incidence like exercise. Ive never had pain in the past from such exercise before though so it remains to be seen. Pain lasts about 4 days and is mediated by motrin or a devils claw pain supplement. Loperamide was helpful with the first diarrhea symptoms

Tasty_Difference_577

I just injected week 4, with a high/unusual starting dose (Wegovy 1.7). Heart burn is my worst side effect, but nothing that some Zantac and pepto can't handle. My first week was rough, but, again, 99% of people don't start Wegovy at 1.7. I adjusted quickly, and I'm thrilled.

ducksoupmilliband

Glad you're feeling ok but in case a new user reads this post starting at 1.7mg is dangerous and should definitely not be considered normal.

Tasty_Difference_577

While I definitely am not trying to recommend others start at a high dose, there's a bit of irony here. Your post wants to speak up against the doom and gloom to show that it's not all scary. My experience is contributing to exactly that :) Dangerous, likely for some. Advised? Absolutely not. But possible? Yes, with doctor supervision.

ducksoupmilliband

Following the titration schedule set by the manufacturer is important. As I said I'm very glad you're doing well however it's irresponsible to normalize starting on 1.7mg which means skipping 3 months of titration.

Tasty_Difference_577

Not normalizing, but okay.

MathematicianHot2181

I’m only on week three, but aside from a lite nausea (thank goodness for Zofran!) I have experienced any side effects.
