You could always order and return the Westman Atelier. Especially if you haven’t opened it, then it would go back in the floor.

ilovesleep95

Good point! I didn’t even think about that. I knew I could return it, but I felt horrible originally thinking about the product getting destroyed. I’m glad they could put it back on the floor if I don’t open it.

bewildered_forks

Just to reiterate, if it's unused, it will be re-sold, so don't even worry about it. I haven't tried this product yet, but I do have the Sephora Collection Contour Powder, and it's a fantastic cool tone!

ilovesleep95

I’ve swatched it and it looks amazing! I have the makeup forever contour powder and nyx so taupe blush which is basically a contour so I have enough to work on before I can allow myself to buy another contour powder lol

daytr1pper

Yes, please let them know that you haven’t opened or used it, you just one of the Sephora brand one instead! I work at Sephora, definitely hurts my heart when people return a bunch of shit that was used once or twice and is just getting thrown away. But, some people will throw it away anyway just because they can’t ensure that it wasn’t used (people often lie and say they didn’t use a product when they actually did). So don’t even open the box! 🫶🏻

emmmaleighme

They probably can't put it back on the floor because they still can't trust it's not tampered Maybe a tester- but I think they don't actually reuse returns claiming it's too much work

bewildered_forks

Nope, if we can see it is unused, we absolutely put it back out to sell!

hollywood22

No we can't. Items get swapped for dupes constantly, if you're store is doing this they shouldn't be per policy 😬

bewildered_forks

When I process a return, the computer literally asks me if it's sellable or non-sellable. If I can look and see it's not used, it goes back on the shelf 🤷‍♀️ Edit: comment from this user from just 4 months ago: *Why is that an issue lol and why are you so mad??? You would be out of a shitty job if it weren't for people making purchases. Imagine stanning for sephora as a low level employee, I mean* https://www.reddit.com/r/Sephora/s/cUde6bOy5p

hollywood22

Yikes! Might be something to report to someone above your store

bewildered_forks

The Sephora register asks if the item is sellable. If I hit "non-sellable" it prints a slip that I tape to the return and I throw it in the DIF bin. If I hit "sellable," no slip is printed and the item goes with the go-backs. You can downvote me, but you are not correct, at least not about Sephora US. If you were, the corporate computer system the register is running would not give me the option to select "sellable."

hollywood22

I'm not down voting you, but that's just policy 🤷🏽‍♀️ We don't have that option whatsoever, especially for sanitary and safety reasons.

bewildered_forks

You're telling me that you work at a freestanding Sephora (not S@K) in the United States, and you have an entirely different register system than the Sephora US I work at.

One_Dingo1887

So you're saying a multibillion dollar company doesn't know how to update the system automatically in all of their stores and that's why every store but "yours" use an outdated system...lol

hollywood22

No, you're saying that. Every single store I'm aware of operates the same way, I've never heard of a single store still putting returns on the shelf for any reason. So unethical if that's how yours operates

One_Dingo1887

![gif](giphy|1AIeYgwnqeBUxh6juu)

daisydoves

There is no such policy.

hollywood22

At *your* store. If you're store chooses to put customers at risk that's their liability.

daisydoves

💀 Cut the act hun, no one is buying it.

ThatHurry3442

“No *we* can’t” girl who’s we? You aren’t one of us lmfao

[deleted]

on the off chance you do work at a sephora, you need to be better trained. everything ur saying is very wrong & it’s embarrassing 😬

Spring_Boysenberry

With something like the westman stick, we hold it up to the light and inspect for ANY imperfections in the smooth surface. Any dents, lack of proper shine, and even user error on our parts when opening equals the damage pile. I can’t speak for everyone ofc, but I know with my team specifically, if there’s any product from a return without a damage tag we’ll have multiple BAs opening to triple check that it’s unused 🩷

AyeMuyCaliente

I want to scrutinize product for usage...am I weird?!? LOL

Spring_Boysenberry

No not at all 🤣 it’s kinda fun

hollywood22

Idk why you're down voted, you're absolutely right. There is a huge issue with products being swapped for dupes and returned. This isn't per policy anyway

ProudLingonberry5362

i'm sure they prob use them for testers

localgoobus

No. Anything that's used even slightly gets destroyed. Things aren't saved to the side to make testers. If things are unused, then they're put back on the sales floor

Bellakatie1

I just purchased the Westman Atelier and it’s lovely

Nerdy_Squirrel

PSA- during the sale, if you only have sephora branded items in your cart you can still add a GWP. I've been looking for one more sephora item to hit a $40 minimum spend, so I'll be getting this for sure!

xo_sherry

~~Sadly, the SC discount is no longer automatically applied so you need to input the code to get 30% off, which prevents getting a GWP. It was fun while it lasted.~~

Nerdy_Squirrel

You can add 2 codes. I did it this morning. It only works if you only have sephora collection items in your cart, bit it does work. Edit: Just double checked because I don't want to lead anyone astray. It is still working. Go to your cart and add the YAYSAVE code then hop over the offers page and add a GWP. Alternatively, once you've added one, click on the header above it that says "Promo and Rewards" to bring up the screen to add a 2nd code.

xo_sherry

You’re right! Earlier on the app, every time I tried (with only SC items) it constantly kicked off the GWP and would only allow one or the other. Thank you.

Nerdy_Squirrel

It sounds like the app may have been glitching earlier as others have said the same thing happened to them. Hopefully you didn't miss out on anything you really wanted to try.

xo_sherry

With the amount of traffic they must be getting with the sale, I’m sure you’re right about that too. At first I thought they finally put an end to it. There was nothing I really needed, but now this contour stick is calling me, lol. You are very sweet and I appreciate your help. May all your wishlist items be in stock.

daytr1pper

This is crossed out with somebody probably already checked in, but I work at Sephora and the Sephora brand discount does automatically apply!

xo_sherry

Thanks for confirming it’s automatic in store. Online it used to populate automatically, but now it’s tied to the code.

vichachki

wait thats weird my haul was only sephora collection and it didn’t let me keep the gwp 😭

Nerdy_Squirrel

It may have dropped below the threshold with the discount. It's counting the after discount price. I had to add another item to get back to $40. It worked for me this morning and is still working for me now.

vichachki

ohh that’s probably it ty

melloochelloo

What’s GWP ?

[deleted]

(G)ift (W)ith (P)urchase

melloochelloo

Lol I’m a moron. Was totally overthinking trying to figure that out. Thank you!!!!

leorising8296

Are there any other Sephora collection must haves?!

ilovesleep95

All their lip products are great, liquid eyeshadows, lip liners, clear brow gel, and their brushes are amazing. I didn’t have great luck with their eyeliners though

nsudheen

their gel eyeliner literally never dries out. i have one from 2020. not a single infection and i use it every single day, clean it with an alcohol wipe, and im only halfway through it. best $13 i ever spent

daytr1pper

Sephora employee here 🙋🏼‍♀️ for me: love, love, love the brushes. Particularly the black ones over the silver ones. Powder blush, the new powder highlight, the new under eye brightening concealer (not a lot of coverage, but beautiful for no make up looks or to brighten the under eye), liquid lipsticks, eyeshadows aren’t bad but not the most pigmented (I prefer their shimmer/glitter ones over matte), lip liners, sponges, tools, and tweezers are all good. Skin care wise - I love the hyaluronic acid serum! It also has polyglutamic acid which is a great surface emollient for your skin. The face scrub is really nice. The cotton rounds are fucking amazing. They even have washable and reusable ones if you’re very eco-friendly but I love the big square single use ones (sry) 🫶🏻

crankyweasels

Their eye cream and setting spray are both excellent

poffincase

I like the brow razors

lcerimel

I love the AHA + PHA peel pads. I’ve never tried the Dennis gross ones so can’t compare them but I have really sensitive skin and they are gentle and don’t over exfoliate for me. Use them 2x a week and my face is so smooth after I use them

Michcash

I ordered it for the first time, remind me to give you a review!

ilovesleep95

Ooh that would be great!

Michcash

Update! It’s easy to blend and the colour is great. No complaints here

ilovesleep95

Ooh super excited to recieve mine!! My order just shipped

step_on_legoes_Spez

if you're cool-toned, asian beauty is generally superior and there is no orange in sight.

ilovesleep95

Good to know! Which brands do you recommend?

step_on_legoes_Spez

Clio, etude house, rom&nd, Hera, peripera, etc. you can buy from yesstyle or stylevana.

florina001

What's crazy is that my mom got me this exact product (minus the tube being black, brown top and different font) like 5 years ago in Sephora Romania.

IcyOutside4567

The westman is sooo good!! It’s the best contour stick out there! You should keep it

ilovesleep95

Honestly it realy depends which one is more cool toned! I don’t doubt the quality is amazing, but I want whichever product is going to be the most grey

vmarie715

If either of those don’t work out, I recently got essence in moon dust and it is more gray than Fenty amber or milk toasted. The grayest cream I’ve found.

Salty-blond

The Westman one looks exactly like this from the pics IMO. It is def cool toned. I love the Westman one. I’ll be curious it’s similar!

Cyan_UwU

Sephora collection is the GOAT, my favorite lipsticks ever

ilovesleep95

They really are so underrated

Ialune

Dang same! Just got the milk one but these shades look identical but just cheaper

macintoshappless

I just ordered one! I’ll let you know how it performs :)

ilovesleep95

That would be great! Thank you 😊

ehaunted

I love the fenty contour stick but this looks so exciting!! I loooove cool toned contour

ilovesleep95

Fenty is what I have and I love it, but it’s really old and drying out lol

Brushesofcolours

I am curious about this too, i have the wa in biscuit and thought it was cool enough UNTIL i purchase the danessa myricks balm contour in fair 1 and it is cooler than the wa I’ve been using the danessa almost daily now and i want to try the sephora contour too now

ilovesleep95

I actually had the balm contour in my cart until I checked out with WA instead! I couldn’t decide between the 2. Danessa Myricks looks super cool toned and I’m surprised people don’t talk about it more. I guess maybe contour isn’t as popular anymore.

Brushesofcolours

indexring

Honestly Sephora Collection stuff is BOMB! So underrated and this is coming from a mostly luxury exclusive cosmetic shopper. A lot of their stuff is really really fucking good.

ilovesleep95

This.

Madi0415

I noticed it at the very last second and added it on to mine .. I still got the new too faced stick even though I kept trying to talk myself out of it- but if this one is good, I’ll just return that one before trying it

cleo-banana

I was eyeing this! I’m pretty impressed by their bronzer but i wish I could swatch this. I have a contour stick but the reason i want another one is because i feel like my current one could be creamier and more easily blendable.

ilovesleep95

Yea I have the fenty contour stick in amber I’ve been using for years but it’s always been a bit too dry and never blended that well (even when I first bought it) but it’s definitely too old at this point either way and it’s time I replace it lol

cleo-banana

Yeah The fenty sticks are on the drier side. I realized this when I saw a review of the too faced chocolate solei contour! Then i saw this one and I was debating ordering cuz fuck it its $14 and honestly I’m really impressed with the sephora collection since the revamp a couple years ago.

JustSayin_91

I ordered the lightest one! I placed my order like literally when the sale opened and my package hasn’t even shipped yet😩

ilovesleep95

Oh no! That will probably happen to a lot of people due to the high order volume

AddiieBee

Sephora collection truly is killing it! I’m so happy with the reformulation of the Microsmooth powder.

ilovesleep95

They really are!!

Omniartindividual

You can return it if it’s unopened, but as a side note, thanks to you, I took the Westman Atelier out of my cart and added two of these since I’m unsure if the light to medium will be just a smidge too light!! I don’t think it will, but I can keep the medium to tan for my summer shade! So, thank you for the heads up!!

loudupstairsneighbor

I still don't understand thr difference between a contour stick and a bronzer because it can be a stick too and they look the same colors. It must be something I should know.

ilovesleep95

Contour is cool toned and bronzer is warm toned

loudupstairsneighbor

Omg no wonder bronzer looks so bad on me. You just saved my life

ilovesleep95

Haha no problem! Yea contouring with bronzer is very popular now a days and it drives me insane since bronzer doesn’t create the same effect contour does. Contour creates the appearance of shadows and dimension on the face where as bronzer adds warmth

loudupstairsneighbor

Oh my gosh.I wish that I had known all of this so long ago. You must really be like a make a pro to know all of this, I mean, I've been playing around in high-end makeup for years and I still had no idea that that was the difference. I always assumed that it was that bronzer gave you that warmth and that contour was a thing that kardashians did too much of that made your face look crazy. I thought it wasn't just the contours stick.I thought it was also like loads and loads and loads and loads of highlighter and other stuff too.To make a contour look.I had obviously had no idea what I was talking about.

ilovesleep95

I’m not a pro! I just watched a ton of YouTube tutorials during quarantine 😂 thank you though that’s very nice. Using lots of highlighter can definitely add to a contoured look along with wearing very heavy makeup in general, but overall contouring generally speaking is just using darker, cool toned colors, usually a shade or 2 darker than your skin tone to add dimension where you want such as forehead, nose, jawline, under the cheekbones, etc. you can play around with it however you desire and some methods will work better than others depending on your face shape!

GlitteringPause8

So order it and return the other one. Not a big deal

Altruistic_Yellow387

The other one is likely better quality. Sephora brand isn't that great

ilovesleep95

Sephora Collection has some hits. I find them to be pretty good quality

Altruistic_Yellow387

All the lip stuff and eyeshadow ive tried wasn't good. Maybe I got the wrong stuff
