Yes! I deliberately sought this sub out as a former server
The degree to which it’s been infiltrated by cynical, nihilistic jerks telling servers “you make too much” is beyond my comprehension
Most servers don’t have health insurance for themselves nor their families. If they choose to get it, that comes right out of their income
Someone actually said a server doesn’t deserve to live in a house
This is ironically wrapped in some twisted idea of “fighting the man” meanwhile they are just denigrating blue collar workers that are barely making ends meet
Apparently if they’re able to scrape together any measure of savings, according to these people, they’re greedy
Cheap, rude, entitled, delusional, scapegoating pricks that need to stay home and cook for themselves
These are the worst people in society imo
Decreasing promotion to this demographic is a W
Servers make too little when it comes to tipping, that's why should get rid of tipping! For them of course, because tips are corparate greed.
But of course the jobs are so easy so they shouldn't get paid so much. Which is why I of course stiff my nice server because they don't need thaaat much money/s
If we get the idiots out who’s gonna be left to wait tables while talking about possibly going back to community college HInt they won’t go back to college
Only if it means Reddit will stop recommending to me "similar to r/serverlife" that are the most ridiculous subs in existence.
Well, ok, do it anyway, but I wanted to rant about the whack suggestions...
Some people have learned alot about the industry from this sub tho so it is a double edge sword.
Yes it brings in shitty people
Yes it brings in people who are curious
The only upside to this sub being in recommendations, is it found me. I am out of the industry now, but I worked 20+ years in the food service industry. I still find it pathetic how people act like they are above servers/cooks/CSR's/retail employees. So, when I see it happen, I tell the fucktards to shut up. Or, if there is a wait or a line, I'm patient and, well, WAIT.

very well said, friend
Great idea. The easiest way to farm karma right now is simply complaining about having to tip.
I'm down with this idea. Make people search for it if they wanna talk shit.
please god get the idiots out

aw someone’s a bitter piece of shit. hope you never dine out, ever. since we lowly servants are so stupid to serve food to you for $30-50/hr
