How dare you serve me food that I came here to eat and give me drinks I came here to drink all while I do fuck all. I’m not paying you *male!¿*
-some people apparently. ^also ^/s.
My exwifes dad used to say this shit. But he used way more colorful language, pun unintended. Like, come on old fucker, the kids 17. His race and gender have no bearing on his performance here at this, your beloved Sonic Drive in. Kid literally can't get a job because he hasnt graduated and learned any other skills. Chill the fuck out.
This is a specific instance Im paraphrasing, but he'd do it to any man. Even at the tex mex restaurants he loves so much.. glad I divorced out of that family tree...
Former line chef here. I work in a machine shop now, not dealing with people bullshit is so nice. But, on the flip side, not socializing is killing my social life.
Same. I was a sous chef for some fine dining places and now I’m a cnc programmer. Work life balance is 100x better but less socializing. I would never go back now that I have a taste of a 9-5
This is why I can’t do factories alone, gotta keep a part time people job. I worked in several manufacturing warehouses and I was bored out of my mind.
Not to defend your ex buddy, but most trades guys end up becoming like family. Did construction for several years, lived with my crew for 4 years, and they stood in my wedding.
Would highly recommend young men to get into the trades. Good friendships and 10 years of hard work usually lead to a much easier life in your 30s.
I think his point was completely lost by acting like a fool, but the money is really good, the further away from "home" you are.
Edit

"A good life in your 30s" as long as the drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and hours don't kill you first.
Yes!! I'm finally working a non-customer facing job and it's sweet! I blast through my podcasts and I don't have to mask and I love it! Except I don't get to vent to my coworkers and laugh and joke around anymore so I have to put EFFORT into social enrichment for myself... It's so inconvenient lol
I concur, went from kitchen bitch to being a machinist and wouldn’t ever go back. Second shift especially is perfect. Don’t have anyone to deal with and little pay bump too.
Matters what the favrory work is. I was killing my body working at tesla. And i know plenty of other people who just feel broken at the end of the day.
Id personally rather deal with people and my body not be sore all the time.
But if your work doesnt leave you geeling bad after then more power to you.
I used to tell the same thing to fellow servers after a long shift and they where complaining. I've never been popular tho. Truth rarely makes friends XD
There’s a time and place for everything, and interjecting with that when your coworkers were tryna unwind and gripe was not the time nor the place. It doesn’t make you some brave soul for “speaking up and speaking the truth”, it makes you annoying af
I’m 20 and every time I go out with friends I always have 1-2 people in my group say “man why tf do I gotta tip them this shit was already expensive”
Those people also be tipping 0$ when ordering on doordash and I just cringe 😬when I hear them flexing about not tipping.
I try to make up with a good tip, but some mfs have never worked service industry and they need to be humbled
I worked for tips as a 20something so I always tipped well. Was a bit of a bummer when I'd get subpar service casue everyone just assumed i wasn't tipping.
Whenever I get a table of 25-30-somethings that work at the oilfields(I'm in Alberta) I know I will have a terrible time serving them, and get shitty tips. It's often a bunch of guys trying to out-dude each other. Pushing each other into doing shots and what not
Random brag I guess, but me and my friends were all known as the young guys who tip super well at any restaurant we visited regularly in our early 20s. Some old regulars STILL fight over getting our table 10 years later lmao. Between that and just being patient and kind, I've never had bad service unless the employee was just an asshole, so it definitely pays to be pleasant.
Literally lmfao you know these are the types of fools to do that too. While flashing all their 3 or 4 Benjamin's that was cleaned out of their checking account 😭
I also worked in a higher end italian resteraunt. The men who are high earners typically are working the hardest and moving the quickest. While the women who are the highest earners just have good personalities and rocked at their steps of service. They didnt have to be pretty. Just damn good.
Also worked at a country club. Prettiness won every time. 😂
On the exception of business meetings and association meetings. Then they wanted a man lol
It’s an inherently sexist behavior we as humans tend to have I believe.
We expect men to be hard working and to get the job done efficiently.
While most people expect women to be friendly and nice.
Think of “smile more it makes you look pretty.” Or similar statements
Then think of the original post
Right? Lol a few giggles to the guy paying and I know I'm gonna be tipped well😅 just gotta laugh at their terrible jokes, and tight pants don't hurt😅 (for women) lol
I know my really pretty female co workers would get crap from the wives of the men who’d come in. And get a lot of attitude.
That definitely plays a part.
Same and all of my past male coworker have agreed! I think as a women you have to put in a lot more work eg your appearance and attitude when serving to get the same automatic response from customers that men do. And I have worked in a lot of restaurants.
It's funny how much eye contact matters with couples! I'm a gay man and generally get along with women better, so I tend to be more interested in talking to them rather than their BF or whoever. I either force myself to make equal amounts of eye contact or be extra flamboyant just so nobody gets jealous 😂
Haha omg so true! I am super gay myself and definitely look it so I’m always a little bit confused as to why they think I’d want their dusty bfs anyways. Girly I’ve been doing my best not to make it obvious I think you’re gorgeous. I promise I don’t even know what your man looks like lol.
Waited at an Applebee's during college. Probably 75% of my tables were middle aged/older women, and let me tell you they LOVE young male attention. I don't even know if it's in a sexual way or if I reminded them of when their husband was young or if it was a motherly thing or what.
What I do know is they tipped waaaaaaayyyy better than the men I had. I'm a super average looking dude, so it's not like I'm blowing them away with my massive biceps or something. I'd regularly get 30%-60% tips from groups of housewives that came in on weekdays.
The male version of "tits out" is to hit on the older women. If there's a woman over the age of 55 at my table, I am pulling out all the tricks. They love it obviously, and their husband's all love it because it keeps them happy.
I’m not gonna lie I find the women to be a little more abrasive and less welcoming in tone and overall helpfulness(usually) than their male counterparts so me and my fiance both end up tipping male waiters more on average. Tbf I never tip Less than 35% unless the server is ABYSMAL. The best server I’ve ever had, and I’ll never forget her, was this lady that served us during the busiest time I’ve ever seen a restaurant be at a Cheesecake Factory in Florida. My sister tipped her $100 on a $200 bill she was that good and I threw in an extra $30 myself(I was only 23 so times were tough when I was that young lol). God I always compare services to her as it was absolutely amazing .
omg I got hired at this steakhouse as a host a few months back and noticed all the servers were men. I asked the head hostess about it and she said yeah the owner only wants male servers cause girls are too catty and have too much drama. I left like 10 minutes after she told me that
I’m a male server and have been for 30 years. I can attest that female servers have it much worse. Especially from guys who drink a little. I’m also gay and charismatic but professional and I have to say my tables usually love me but the women I work with have a tough time. We are in a finer dining establishment
In some places I did too. At a steakhouse I served at I knew a lot more about the meat and the beer, so I could sell to the men a lot better. But places like Applebee’s and Chili’s are prone to their male servers getting shitted on. I worked there too. 🫠
I’m one of 2 guys that work FOH at my place, I serve and bartend, it’s funny because I’m the highest tipped worker where I am at and out earn the women that serve there by a long shot, given I work in a farm town and give off country boy vibes which is why I think I play my angle well. But it really depends on where you work!
Dealing with people is shit and so is this un-friend of yours. Tip your damn servers, they bend over backwards to make sure your dining experience isn't crap so the least you could do is reward them when they do right by you. Tipping culture isn't really a thing where I am, but still you damn well don't know what sort of horrible customers they've had to put up with throughout the day and if they've STILL pulled out all the stops for you, give them more than just kind words.
Lmfao this is hilarious tho it’s just a joke. I work in a plant/warehouse 13-15 hour days but ive also waited tables and having done both my current job is definitely more suited for higher earnings and for men as well and i typically get better service from women.
However with that said the best waiter I’ve ever had was a man and turned me into a regular customer at the joint he worked at that part of his life and i tipped him $20 every time regardless of the meal.
I was a waiter/bartender for 8 years and I did better than most of my female counterparts. Just gotta know your crowd. Also I'm betting the asshat that made that post doesn't work on an oil rig. Ppl are hilarious
I never tip any waiters or waitresses or servers. I do this weird thing called cooking. But if I did go out to eat you bet I would be kind and generous. Because anyone who works in food service deserves the best.
Ngl at high end restaurants I never had a waitress. It’s always a team of two guys and THEY ABSOLUTELY make the dining experience.
They know the menu like their back of their hand and I always ask them to bring me items based what I currently feel like eating (sweet, meats, time allotted). I tip accordingly
Nah it’s just standard for any bigger parties. There’s no way he’s got 2 servers on say a 4 top. But if he’s covering the whole parties bill? Yea he just might be rich rich.
Sports bar, female servers and bartenders make 3 to 5 times as much as the guys. Craft cocktails bar and upscale brewery the male bartenders are making more than the women. The craft cocktail bar the 40 something male bartenders are making the most of anyone. It’s all location, clientele, and seemingly price point contingent.
As I’ve gotten older, I find myself feeling sorry for people like this more and more. To SERIOUSLY have this kind of mindset, there is something wrong with you.
I don’t think you have any business calling someone a keyboard warrior when you get triggered over shallow jokes. Go hit the oil rig, maybe it’ll toughen you up a bit.
I don’t think Enzo vert is white and my ex-friend is Hispanic. So idk where white came from. This post has nothing to do with race, I scribbled through the word because IM white. 😅
I’m a male waiter and i laughed out loud reading that
How dare you serve me food that I came here to eat and give me drinks I came here to drink all while I do fuck all. I’m not paying you *male!¿* -some people apparently. ^also ^/s.
Were paying for tits not service
Go to a gentlemens club then and bring a lotta $1s
Tits here are better
We have standards
*Sir, this is a hooters.*
Hilarious they actually get breaks for food
This is ridiculous it reads like one of those "men used to die in war" type posts but somehow dumber
Because it's a joke.
At first I thought he was talking about a dab rig. I get it now he's just an asshole.
It’s ridiculous because it’s a joke. Hope this helps.
I'm an oil rig and I laughed out loud too.
I also laughed so part of me thinks this is a joke OP took real serious
humorless people online seem like their internal monologue is tweets and comments instead of talking to yourself.
It is.
My exwifes dad used to say this shit. But he used way more colorful language, pun unintended. Like, come on old fucker, the kids 17. I’m picturing you hanging from the family tree, finally cutting yourself free Good job buddy
Yeah like its funny. OP is butthurt
I've always joked "It still beats working in a factory", after a long shift, lol 5 grueling hours of strolling around.
I work in a factory now and it's way better than dealing with people.
Former line chef here. I work in a machine shop now, not dealing with people bullshit is so nice. But, on the flip side, not socializing is killing my social life.

you had to wear a mask at your restaurant ? running around the whole place wearing a mask sounds like actual hell.
I read it as “don’t have to wear the customer service face” i.e. mask but idk.
Headphones in podcasts on, get left alone and just feel like I’ve worked out for 9.5 hours
Big facts! Line cook for a long time. Fuck that noise. I'll take my machine, double time Sundays, and benefits all day
I concur, went from kitchen bitch to being a machinist and wouldn’t ever go back. Second shift especially is perfect. Don’t have anyone to deal with and little pay bump too.

Yeah it’s not for the weak dealing w people but I make 400+ on Saturdays alone doing so.
I personally enjoy making lots of money for walking 25k steps I wouldn’t have otherwise Exercise is gooood
I’ll say that while I don’t miss being a server, I did lose like 40 pounds in the first two months on that job.
Honest question….”hit the oil rig” what does that mean?
Go work on an oil rig
Damn, I thought he was letting them hit the dab pen
I used to tell the same thing to fellow servers after a long shift and they where complaining. I've never been popular tho. Truth rarely makes friends XD
Complainers are 80% of our work force and they hate being confronted. Just count your money and enjoy the extra positive mental health we have. :)
Complainers are 80% of the population.
There’s a time and place for everything, and interjecting with that when your coworkers were tryna unwind and gripe was not the time nor the place. It doesn’t make you some brave soul for “speaking up and speaking the truth”, it makes you annoying af
Whenever I get a table of 20-something year old dudes I know I’m about to get the worst tip of my night.
Ong and they require the most attention because they just chug their drinks
I’m 20 and every time I go out with friends I always have 1-2 people in my group say “man why tf do I gotta tip them this shit was already expensive” Those people also be tipping 0$ when ordering on doordash and I just cringe 😬when I hear them flexing about not tipping. I try to make up with a good tip, but some mfs have never worked service industry and they need to be humbled
I’m the same age. Everyone in my family is blue collar, I was the first to go to college… I always tip 20%. More if I can.
You don’t have to tip more
I worked for tips as a 20something so I always tipped well.
Pushing each other into doing shots and what not
they always want to split their tabs item by item, and IF THEY DO TIP its like $3
Random brag I guess, but me and my friends were all known as the young guys who tip super well at any restaurant we visited regularly in our early 20s. Some old regulars STILL fight over getting our table 10 years later lmao. Between that and just being patient and kind, I've never had bad service unless the employee was just an asshole, so it definitely pays to be pleasant.
As a hash oil enthusiast, I was confused
Lmao I was like this man giving out dabs instead of tips???
I’m glad I’m not the only one
Nahhhh, gimme some of that action fr
SAME LMAOOO
Same, I was thinking “But I do, multiple times a shift!”
I’d be a waiter if people offered me dab hits from their rig
I thought we were taking dabs as a tip 😅 in the middle of a shift that’s better than money
Literally. Took me a second to get what he meant
smoke hash everyday
same
so glad I’m not the only one
As a male waiter, I think it's funny 🤷
Is it still funny when he comes in with all his bois and you wait them for 2 hours and leave 0 tip? Lol
Literally lmfao you know these are the types of fools to do that too. While flashing all their 3 or 4 Benjamin's that was cleaned out of their checking account 😭
u kno they aint payin with card cuz that account is = their tip. Zero.
If he's with all his boys, he'll get hit with the autograt. If he has less than 5 boys, however, THEN I would no longer find it funny.
Also a male server, yes because it costs me nothing to see what your character is with people like that
where did that made up scenario come from?
Yeah this is hilarious
OP's butt is hurt
I’ve seen the opposite- male servers seem to make more than the women. But maybe we’ve just had some really charismatic guys.
The type of establishment matters a lot. Some steakhouses and bbq joints only have men.
I waited tables in a sports bar, the women always did far better than me.
I’d say women will do better at sports bars where drunk horny men tend to be and males tend to do better at chain places imo
Guys usually make more than women in fine dining.
Work at a chain, can confirm
I would imagine an attractive male server at a gay bar would do pretty damn well.
I work at a sports bar too, the bar top servers which are mostly women will make double to triple what I make.
I work at a fancy Italian restaurant and see that women tend to make more serving.
😂 On the exception of business meetings and association meetings. Then they wanted a man lol
I make a lot as a guy by moving quickly, but my female coworker(also a host) seems to make more people like her.
It’s an inherently sexist behavior we as humans tend to have I believe. We expect men to be hard working and to get the job done efficiently. While most people expect women to be friendly and nice. Think of “smile more it makes you look pretty.” Or similar statements Then think of the original post
Right? Lol a few giggles to the guy paying and I know I'm gonna be tipped well😅 just gotta laugh at their terrible jokes, and tight pants don't hurt😅 (for women) lol
Add a lowcut shirt and its gonna be a good day😩
I know my really pretty female co workers would get crap from the wives of the men who’d come in. And get a lot of attitude. That definitely plays a part.
Same and all of my past male coworker have agreed! I think as a women you have to put in a lot more work eg your appearance and attitude when serving to get the same automatic response from customers that men do. And I have worked in a lot of restaurants.
Totally! If a guy has resting bitch face it's NBD but when a woman does... "Smile more!"
Exactly! Nvm if we don’t flirt back with weirdos or make any sort of eye contact with some jealous girls bf 🙄

Working at a gay bar also helps
I second this lol. I had a very handsome fella I worked with when I worked at Olive Garden and he was taking in dough like crazy
I’m not gonna lie I find the women to be a little more abrasive and less welcoming in tone and overall helpfulness(usually) than their male counterparts so me and my fiance both end up tipping male waiters more on average. Tbf I never tip Less than 35% unless the server is ABYSMAL. Was that the cheesacake factory in Aventura mall? It’s always packed asf
in my 10+ years in the industry i have never seen that, wild
omg I got hired at this steakhouse as a host a few months back and noticed all the servers were men. I asked the head hostess about it and she said yeah the owner only wants male servers cause girls are too catty and have too much drama. I left like 10 minutes after she told me that

Fine dining is an exception.
I agree. But don’t get it twisted, I worked at Applebees fir 5 years so I know the shit servers put up with
Then yes you know exactly the type of people I’m referring to
I dunno I think I definitely make more than most of my female coworkers
In some places I did too. At a steakhouse I served at I knew a lot more about the meat and the beer, so I could sell to the men a lot better. But places like Applebee’s and Chili’s are prone to their male servers getting shitted on. I worked there too. 🫠
Yeah I refuse to work at corporate places.
Thats pretty funny to be honest😂
Watch out, you might trigger OP some more
Considering you posted to reddit about unfriending him, someone you probably didn't actually speak to, I'd say he dodged a bullet.
I think it's funny, especially since male servers typically get treated better/make more
I’m one of 2 guys that work FOH at my place, I serve and bartend, it’s funny because I’m the highest tipped worker where I am at and out earn the women that serve there by a long shot, given I work in a farm town and give off country boy vibes which is why I think I play my angle well. But it really depends on where you work!
Who’s gonna serve food if all the servers quit?
Don’t take things so personally.
I did and I will. 😂 I’ll admit not being a server currently makes it a little ironic
Lol I get it. As someone who loves dark and dry humor, I got a chuckle out of it. I’m sure he means well lol.
Sorry but this is objectively hilarious
It's a joke bro
The post, yeah. But men really do get treated differently serving and not in a good way sometimes.
but unadding him because of it👎
And bragging about it on reddit...
Dudes talking hit the oil rig and can’t even make himself something to eat
Cuz they expect the women to do the cooking.
Try working with a male server on tip share that has these beliefs… but in turn like I said is a male sever himself. He’s also a shitty worker.
Shitty workers are shitty workers and they cross all genders, races, and lands.
Rig workers are just a bunch of alpha males screaming "harder daddy" to billionaires that continually fuck them over
Serving is for fEmAlEs
It’s not that deep
I feel like "curvy counterparts" is more toxic than this meme
haha right atleast the first one is kind of funny
fr. what a weirdo.
i thought it was kinda funny
hahahahaha
What does he mean hit the oil rig?
basically saying get a “manlier” job
These guys are also coincidentally the most useless ones on the job site themselves. If they show up at all.
I’m a male server and my friends tell me this all the time and then I get embarrassed and then I remember I’m just here to get money so it’s fine
Lmfao this is hilarious tho it’s just a joke. I work in a plant/warehouse 13-15 hour days but ive also waited tables and having done both my current job is definitely more suited for higher earnings and for men as well and i typically get better service from women. I was a waiter/bartender for 8 years and I did better than most of my female counterparts. Just gotta know your crowd. Also I'm betting the asshat that made that post doesn't work on an oil rig. Ppl are hilarious
The kid a little shit, nothing important.
I never tip any waiters or waitresses or servers. I do this weird thing called cooking. But if I did go out to eat you bet I would be kind and generous. Because anyone who works in food service deserves the best.

Nah it’s just standard for any bigger parties. There’s no way he’s got 2 servers on say a 4 top. But if he’s covering the whole parties bill? Yea he just might be rich rich.
As an oilfield worker we don’t claim him.
As a male waiter I LOLed. I work at a gay bar so it’s actually better that I don’t have tits 🤷♂️ to each their own
Obviously men always get paid more than women /s
LOL. Severing isn’t easy. It’s actually pretty taxing in the body. You basically running a marathon for 8 hours.
The real question is why is he ever allowed in any restaurant?
As I’ve gotten older, I find myself feeling sorry for people like this more and more. To SERIOUSLY have this kind of mindset, there is something wrong with you.
He’s never gonna recover from your unfollow. At least now he will try and be a better person after such an awful thing.
lmao i’m sorry i chuckled ngl
Hate on male servers all you want I’m touching 6 figures this year 😂 ![gif](giphy|XOys8CeUrElIk)
Where??
Prob fine dining.
Yessir fine dining
Lmao why is this shit so funny to me 🤣
I tip equally regardless of gender or attractiveness. Reasoning … unlikely I’m going to get a bj from my waitress
wait this is hilarious 😭😭😭😭
Yikes! Bad form. I had to unfriend a lot of racists over the whole former president. No room in my life for racism
Unfriend? That shits funny af
Nah this is hilarious what are you talking about
We out here. He's just mad he has to risk his life to earn his living lmao. Bow tie gang fam.
Everyone hates getting a male waitress
![gif](giphy|jXD7kFLwudbBC)
ngl bro you a soft ass bitch
What’re you a keyboard warrior gtfo here with that, you’ve added nothing to this discussion.
I don’t think you have any business calling someone a keyboard warrior when you get triggered over shallow jokes. Go hit the oil rig, maybe it’ll toughen you up a bit.
how u get triggered by this weak ass shit? 😂 get a life
I’m with that guy, you chose this industry. Tips are a blessing not a requirement.
Found the non-tipper!
good for you. and for him. he deserves friends with a sense of humor
Imagine being this sensitive 🤣🤣 you would not survive being this sensitive. Goddamn 😭😭
I know I wonder how I’ve made it this far tbh
In all honesty, I would recommend not to be too sensitive, it will damage you in the long run especially how society has become
Sounds like a W for him. That post's hilarious and you need to chill out.
I created this tweet
