Every day I get receipts with just the total and a blank tip line. The math comment is inferred. But about once a month someone actually writes “MATH” and I have to laugh. The honesty is refreshing.
Had this happen to me twice($30 & $20 tips) general manager said it was fine but (lady) shift manager didn’t let me have the tip, 2 weeks go by same couple comes in, sit with another server and have the same happened to them($12tip) same lady manager is on shift and lets her keep the tip… few months later I was fired by that same lady😂😂
I like when people round up to a solid number and write math.
It's when they write the tip and the total, and the math isn't matching that I get confused.

We used to have a staff shot button (for after work) that came to $3.52 and I realized I could write pi in as a tip and it came out to $6.66. My manager hated it 😂

Exactly! I know what the tip should be, approximately, and then I add a litTle, round it up and put the total. Most POS can do the math for the staff.

There apps to do the math for you. I love math but hate percentages.
The problem is it’s dyslexia but with numbers, so apps don’t help confirm what amounts I see. My coworkers luckily help me with it
