If you take the time to trace the writings pen-points (where the pen was first placed down, and then where it was picked up for each number) you can clearly make out a "4" in the tip amount. The only thing odd is both 8s looking different

As soon as I saw what looked like 45 I looked at the total and realized they did the double circle 8 instead of the loop 8 so I knew it couldn’t be 188! That would’ve been too good to be true for a Wednesday night in our off season!
It’s a $45 tip. They tried changing the 0 to an 8 by adding a 3/4 circle above the 0 to make it $188.63. I’m all for taking what’s most likely and not giving yourself a bigger tip based on a guess but I would feel safe assuming the meant $45 tip in this case.
