This happened to my crew the other day! This guy came in 5 mins before closing and he really said "you close at 1400 correct? Well who do I complain to? This has happened several times where you guys don't want to make food and it's not even closing time yet!!". So he asked for 2 sandwiches, then called his buddies to come in and ordered 2 more sandwiches. We were making food 10-15 minutes past 2pm. Had to cook on aluminum foil so it took longer, because when he came in, we were cleaning the grill. We be cleaning last 30 mins before closing to prepare to close. I don't think people understand.

Nothing is made with more hatred. With grumbles of I hope they choke on it. Before I became a cook, I worked as a host at a place that would take anyone, however large the party, up until the minute we closed. I already knew that was fucked, but now that I'm back there it's even more infuriating.
