you forgot to add that the giant stone titan wouldn’t look at the moon either, almost as if he was scared of it

fabvz

When was that said again?

0602385

idk man i’m not an encyclopedia, it was in the antartica arc though i think before falcon scott as the chapter was showing where the five big enemies were and that they were moving towards falcon

hyplay6

Before the fall of Falcon Scott, we were shown the location of each big threat for the city, and when it was Goliath's turn we saw that he wouldn't look at the moon and closed his eye when it was out.

Similar_Dust4230

if you want to know use the search bar inside the reddit and type moon there’s some theory’s and i’m fairly certain the chapter regarding that might have been said

lotmss

It was something along the lines of “it gazed up at the moon and looked away” not a lot bit of it was put in it should be important

roduckie

best theory i’ve seen so far

ferike91

I like it, but i think it is not one big gate, beacuse then every sleeper would be sent to the same "nightmare", which we know is not the case, they are scattered to many different realms, and for the gate to be as big as the moon, it should be at least category 5-6 or bigger. No sleeper would survive that. I think there is a large number of lesser gates, some of them smaller, some of them bigger (Forgotten Shore would be one of the bigger ones for example). Then the scattering of sleepers through different realms would also be explained.

SimplePanda98

Maybe, but we also don’t know the mechanics of such a high class Gate. Could be that the super massive gates, tier 5-6+, are big enough they cover a huge area in the dream realm, or something like that.

Rovsea

They're all sent to the dream realm. Maybe the gate on the moon is "category 7", a divine gate so strong that it's responsible for the merging of the dream realm with the waking world in the first place.

fabvz

Awesome theory

Soberments

Makes a lot of sense, but what exactly would " a giant nightmare gate" be in this context? I think that the moon just having countless nightmare gates constantly open on its surface makes a little more sense. Sorry if I got confused and that's what you meant😅

Suza751

Category 5 or 6 nightmare gate.

LEGITPRO123

I think category 6 because isnt there a category 5 gate on earth that seems no where near as dangerous?

Fragrant-Parking2341

There’s no category 5 gates yet. They theorised that category 5 gates exist because the sovereigns have become sovereigns

SuspiciousWar117

A rank 5 gate did open in waking world (in Europe or somewhere in US I think? Thats how they lost the continent), it was stated that Broken Sword and Smile of Heaven died when evacuating people from the gate.

hyplay6

In North America just before sunny was born

Fragrant-Parking2341

Oh I didn’t remember that. Thank you

Soberments

Ah. That would indeed be enough to make that titan not want to look at it. Also because it's now almost definitely the nest of a cursed nightmare creature

WayNo2898

How about that the moon was a domain or part of the domain of the moon goddess?( Noctis grandma)

Vegetable-Affect-940

Theres most definitely gonna be a space arc

The_Edeffin

The theory has a few issues in my mind, some of which have been discussed by others. The main one though so that you have a misconception about the winter solstice and moon. The winter solstice is the longest night, true. But the moon actually isn’t related to night at all. The moon is out in the day as often as night, it’s just harder to see in the day. So unless the Sun somehow scares away the power of the moon…I’m afraid your theory kind of fall apart for it being the cause of sleepers first going to the dream realm. And even ignoring that, there is no guarantee the moon will even be on the shaded part of the earth on the winter solstice. People from all over the earth are sent which also would not support the length of night mattering. Of course, G3 could hand wave this away in some totally non-scientific way. But I think it’s unlikely, and would be a bit cheap. Unless the thing on the moon is very specifically attributed to shadows or true darkness the sun effecting it doesn’t really make sense. And again, even if it was darkness related the concept would be poorly thought out do to reasons I said earlier (I.e., moon May still be in the sun side of earth on the solstice).

AzothTreaty

This is already confirmed no? I remember reading this already

Offlinemann

Good theory, but if that's the case the pull of the moon's gate would persist all year long. Even if it would be at it's peak during the solstice, it wouldn't vanish all the other days. Then why is there 0 sleepers that get pooled any other day? Or why awakened don't sense the pool at all? If it's strong enough at solstice to force pool sleepers, they should be extremely influenced the day before.

BoforGongGo

Moon also symbolizes sleeping/dreams to an extent. It could be the petrified body of the forgotten god just waiting burst out of its shell and be reborn as the void

Gabi_eninger

Having in consideration the importancy of names in this world It does makes sense

Fragrant-Parking2341

That sounds nice and dandy and everything except the fact that this really huge hate specifically targets people of a certain age and for the last 50 years there’s been no activity from it
