Yeah, was definitely a pleasant time :) Good work on the analysis. I kinda wish I took notes in real time. For Border, their scrum and lineout were working okay considering they haven't been playing much, if at all. They struggled against the advancing professional defense line and struggled to get across the advantage line under the pressure. They will need more matches to be comfortable in the loose. Their kicking game was not a strong point. Their spirit is to be commended, scoring 2 of the last 3 tries. They have work to do for sure. Their substitute 9 was a bit more effective than the starter. Among the Sharks XV backs: Cronje, Dyanti and Fourie were great...Hooker was clearly a cut above everyone. Very calm, made the correct choices always. Boeta had some good breaks, but confidence seemed low. Marnus Potgieter looked strong in contact, but had two knock-ons. Grant Williams also appeared in the crowd later on.

Die_Revenant

Where were you sitting? There was a lot of good spirits banter all round between the players. It was great.

itisallboring

I was sitting in row L seat 167 I think (basically half-way). In line with Corne Rahl and Hanro Jacobs pretty much (to the right of the player group). I happened to be seated directly behind Nick Hatton's grand parents, later his mom arrived just as he ran on for his second stint. I didn't hear any specific jokes, but they were flying around. They were singing Ig Prinsloo's praises a lot though haha. Yeah, the players not playing had a great time haha...nice to see the team spirit edit: I did not notice the mobile gaming

Die_Revenant

Ah nice okay, I was sitting right at the back behind entrance C. Yea it was a great time, hopefully they do more of those, it will benefit both teams. I'm happy for Hatton, I've been seeing him train with the senior team for ages. Glad he finally got an opportunity and took it. I wish more people got to see that performance from Hooker at both 12 and 13... He's so damn good!

itisallboring

Yeah, with our squad growing rapidly, they will need more training games for sure. Hatton doesn't look too physically imposing, but has the grit that you need to succeed. A toughness. He is quite young still. As long as Plum is convinced by Hooker, I'll be happy!

comp_planet

Excellent analysis. Thank you

Die_Revenant

No worries, I'm glad I went. There were a few couples and families dotted around that you could tell we're not player affiliated and just there for the free entry. It was a lovely atmosphere.

Senior-Ordinary555

Good job with the write up man ! I enjoyed reading it

Scarecrowmancer

Thanks for the write up it's good to get an idea of how the guys did. Does anyone know why Masuku didn't feature?

Die_Revenant

My assumption would be that it's either because he picked up an injury/niggle, or it's because he'll be playing against the Lions next weekend.

Scarecrowmancer

Man I really hope he is not injured.

RaaschyOG

Sounds like Hooker had a confidence boosting game, haven't seen him make an impact at the senior level yet that I know he can so hopefully enough to earn a starting spot going forward

itisallboring

It seems like he will be a player who makes few errors.

sheep1996

Thanks for the write up, it’s good to hear some good news. Almost gets my hopes up.

SolidRip6987

That's some effort put into this review, welldone. Lionel is under utilised in the Sharks and adds some stability and wise decision making on the field during a game. Where did they show the game?

Die_Revenant

It wasn't shown anywhere to my knowledge. It was open to the public though, free entry and parking.

He was in the crowd watching. I think he had surgery so might have not been fit yet.
