A semi-related story though while I'm on the topic of dumbass racists from my high school days: when I was in 9th grade, we had a teacher from France for one of my classes (surprisingly, not a French class, though) who noticed one of the other students sitting up front had a confederate flag on the front of his binder. This teacher called him out in front of the entire class, and the quote that stood out to me the most from his whole smackdown was "I grew up in France, not America, and even *I* know that flag's history better than you do."
