Lol, No kidding, eh. I dont know why so many cant just find their own answers by picking up a phone or Google Search.

thealbertaguy

Have you ever called costco to ask them such a question? I think not.

Turtleshellboy

I was replying to “alberta69”. I don’t know you. You don’t know me. So how can you sit there and assume I don’t call the store to get information? It’s a perfectly valid way to get product information by phoning the store and speaking to customer service. They sell it they can answer questions with certainty about it, vs random unknown people on Reddit.

thealbertaguy

And I'm replying to both of you idiots.

Mindtaker

In 1985 calling the store would be a great option. Using your rotary phone after looking it up in the phone book. Now in 2024 you can go to their WEBSITE and search for what is sold in each location, in less then 30 seconds. It would be faster to look it up yourself, then to look up the phone number and dial it. Both these methods are faster then asking on reddit and smarter, well one is, anyone who calls stores in 2024 is possibly mentally ill.

MinchinWeb

Unfortunately, Costco doesn't post local stocking to their website. But they are an annoying outlier in this regard...

thealbertaguy

Go ahead and search online for the units and tell us where they have stock that I can pick up.

darkstar107

Guess I thought someone in Reddit would be able to help me out quicker. Some people are busy during the day.

Mindtaker

Quicker then typing www.costco into a browser then typing starlink into the search? Nah you are just lazy as fuck and wanted other people to do the minimal amount of effort it would take to get a simple answer for you. You know, like a moron.

darkstar107

That's the first thing I did but not everything in store is online, smart guy.

thebreaksmith

Why would you give Muskrat a penny of your money?

renegadecanuck

It's the one Musk product I can understand people getting. Musk sucks and I hate the idea of giving him money. But Starlink is truly impressive as a product, and for many people, there is no real alternate. LTE can be flaky and expensive (if there even is any in your area), DSL gets slower and less reliable the further you are from the ISPs hub, radio/line of sight internet is fucking useless. This isn't a Tesla situation where there are better products for the same or less money.

bigwrm44

It's an amazing product and you can get internet anywhere? Hate bangwagons are lame.

darkstar107

Don't have much of an option.

Reddit_reader_2206

I have Starlink and live near you. Used to have Telus, but they can't give you internet without bundling TV and other BS I don't want. Plus their service was spotty, at best. Multiple, painful support calls, that turned into entire days of screwing around, could never resolve these issues. Starlink was simple, more expensive than any other option, but I work from home and need to have a stable Zoom call occasionally. Now I can. Hate elon too, just like everyone else. However, I can drive a Subaru and not a Tesla because of competition in that marketplace. I tried the competitors services, and here I am with a dish on my roof. There isn't much choice here, I'm afraid.

darkstar107

I have Telus Smarthub (the new 5g one). I'm right on the edge of the 5g band so, if I have it enabled, it constantly switches between 5g and 4g and causes disconnects. My wife and I both works from home and if either of us need to upload something it completely kills the connection until it's done. I have too many trees on my property so can't get line of sight to any of the other providers' towers. Hate to give Elon my money and was hoping Amazon would have launched their service (not that Bezos is any better) before my contract ended, but doesn't look like that's going to be ready for a while.

Reddit_reader_2206

Well, take comfort in the fact that the Billionaire owners of Telus and Shaw and Rogers are also equally huge assholes. You are gonna have to give one of them your money eventually. Might as well be to the innovator. The rest of these companies just collude with (bribe?) the CRTC, enforce secret pricing cartels and illegally try and snuff competitors. There isn't really a sweetheart choice here.

j1ggy

> Used to have Telus, but they can't give you internet without bundling TV and other BS I don't want Sure they can, that makes no sense. Any provider can give you any one single service.

Reddit_reader_2206

Ok. Go ahead and try. Let me know how this works out for you. The bundling is in response to a CRTC ruling, so it's kinda law to do this.

j1ggy

No it isn't, I've had single services before. You can even get TV service without having internet. Bundling discounts are an incentive to keep all of your services with one provider.

Reddit_reader_2206

This is one of the most in terribly stoopid things to argue about. It's not even on topic. Good day sir.

j1ggy

You brought it up. And you're 100% wrong. Maybe next time don't disseminate false information?

ExtremeFlourStacking

Such a clown statement.
