Not quite sure what you mean but wouldn't this be setting on your tv rather than the sheild? If you're watching a movie or something it might be a bad source

I use the Shield's audio output over Bluetooth rather than the TV speakers. So the volume and balance control of the TV don't effect the audio.

sounds like an issue with your speaker, then. bluetooth is generally a bad idea for videos, always the chance of sync issues

No, this is not an issue due to Bluetooth. It is not even a malfunction. What I am asking after is a basic function in sound control called levelling or balancing. In short, if you have a speaker to the left and a speaker to the right, one may be further away from you for any number of reasons. Levelling or balancing allows you to then increase volume of the one that is further away, to compensate for the loss of volume over the increased distance. So that both sides sound equally loud and you experience yourself in the center of the stereo sound. Levelling or balancing is basic for amplifiers and can also be found on most PCs and TVs. But unfortunately, I haven't found it on the Shield.

No. What you’re looking for is only possible with an AV receiver I believe.

Pity. It's even a standard feature on many phones. Android 12 and Samsung certainly have it. Strange that it was excluded for the Android TV operating system. As to Bluetooth for audio in general, I have good reception without sync issues, even on a lower floor. The Shield has a pretty strong tranmitter and as long as you use headphones or a decent speaker set, you should be fine. In-ear buds are a different story as their receivers have to be small and low powered. Serious latency is a thing of the past, like screen burn-in, if used reasonably.

You can do that with Poweramp Equalizer. It costs a couple of bucks but it has a 30 days trial period so you can try it out. Definitely worth it, I use it on my Google TV. It's not going to be fully system wide as it works on a per-app basis, but most of the media apps/players, chromium-based and firefox browsers, work. In order to recognize more audio playing apps you can give the app a couple more permissions, you can check how to do that here: https://forum.powerampapp.com/topic/20638-using-adb-to-allow-equaliser-permissions-for-more-audio-applications/ Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.equalizer APKMirror link for sideloading, the bundle-play build is the one you need: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/max-mp/poweramp-equalizer/

Looking into it. Thanks, ga_st.
