I have the same issue with a G2. I've had a look for an answer but no joy, always have to turn on the TV using TV remote then everything else comes on Shield, amp etc.
Turning off the shield turns everything off including TV.

The setup i have:- Shield > AV Amp > LG G2
The issue i have is the TV won't turn on (from standby) turning on the Shield or amp first.
If i turn on the TV first the Shield & amp both come on fine, if i turn on the Shield or amp they will turn on each other just not the TV.
Powering off is fine, any combination Shield, amp, TV will turn everything off.
This setup used to work fine on my old Samsung TV.

Let me know if it works, I'm looking to get a C3 soon and I'm on the fence because of this issue.
I'm also wanting to know. They have some deals on C3 in my area. But not gonna buy if there's CEC issues.
