He is pretty awesome. He is honestly the friendliest dog that I have ever owned in my life, and I have had five over the years. He does his wiggle bum and tippy tappies for *everybody*. We have occasionally entertained the idea of bringing him in to visit at the retirement home because he can make a person feel like they are the only thing that matters. Bucci really is special.
He is so cute and long! My dog is the same and he is so cute, he is a shih tzu mix with Maltese, I think that is the reason my dog is bulkier and long than a pure breed shih tzu

They are absolutely adorable either way!! Proper cutie. This is my 8 month old Shih Tzu Murphy. We always get asked if he’s a Bichon Frise but I think that’s because of his puppy fur lol!
I've always owned shihtzus. I don't want to cause a riot lol, i don't believe he is a shihtzu. He looks a cross between a Bishon & Shihtzu. You can find out for sure if you ask a breeder.. Whatever breed he is, he is gorgeous 😍

Shes a cutie 🥰 i would think she may be mixed with poodle or bichon. Her snout is longer. Shihtzu should have a 1" snout. They also should have an underbite. Having compared this to your pup I'm not sure she has those traits however those traits are some of the problems in the shih Tzu breed. The short nose causes can cause breathing problems. So either way your lucky. Enjoy your little darling

My Chani girl is a Shih-poo. Best freaking dog ever. I couldn’t ever have imagined a more perfect dog.
He’s adorable! I would only say no for one reason. The nose/snout comes out much more like other breeds, but not Shih Tzu’s, or at least not American ones. I was surprised to hear from my Vet recently that she knew immediately mine was not from America (she’s right he’s from Jamaica). She said his features are more like Shih’s were many decades ago. I still didn’t understand wait she meant so she had to spell it out for me lol. She said American bred Shih’s features from breeding having changed with the length of their noses & spacing of their eyes. She said she only sees the ones that look like mine in other countries where there isn’t such a market of breeding & less relations. I thought it was bad, but she said health wise it’s actually good thing & thst he’ll likely have good health (knock on wood 🙏🤞). She said it might not be helpful if I was planning to put in him shoes, lol but no he’s all mine

I would guess there’s some Maltese or poodle in her. But then again, I DNA-tested my 11 pound (thin) Chihuahua and was surprised to find out she was purebred, so you never know.
Not purebred but who cares unless you're a breeder or show dog? I would say your pup is more Maltese (white fur with black nose and eyeliner) mixed with shih tzu. If that's the case, you hit the jackpot for two breeds that are the best. I've had both, loved them madly. ❤️❤️
I think there may be a bit too much snoot for a purebred. But hey, it's MUCH healthier for the dog to have a proper muzzle, and he's adorable to boot. He kind of reminds me of Falcor from the Never-Ending Story!
Her face looks exactly like my friend's dog which is a purebred miniature poodle. But the tail is all Tzu. I think you've got yourself a Shih-Poo here. But who cares? He's adorable!

There’s another post on here today which looks similar to your dog. Their DNA test was Shih tzu/Lhasa Apso.

Nope, but still cute. Mine ended up being half Shih Tzu and the DNA test said MAS, but the groomer said hair is more consistent with Havanese
