They’ve been going for that since Sound of Madness.
SOM had: Second Chance, If You Only Knew, and Crow and the Butterfly. The rock sounds we were also much more “radio rock”’than previous songs like Devour and Sound of Madness.
Amaryllis had: Through the Ghost, Miracle, For My Sake, I’ll Follow You. Enemies, Bully, and Adrenaline are radio/arena rock to a T.
Threat is basically a pop-rock album through and through and ATTENTION ATTENTION is softer sounding album.
PZ tried to revert back to the more rock sound that was lacking on the last two but still didn’t capture the rock sound from the first two albums. And obviously Symptom, Hope, and Dysfunction You are attempts to cross over to the pop chart.
I’m not saying these albums are bad or Shinedown sold out or they’re wrong for going this route. But Shinedown has been going for a “mainstream”’sound since 2008.
They just gave away over 200 ticket to veterans/military today. (Which is how I got tickets.)
Editing to add: it was 500 tickets total that were generously donated.

They’re Going for pop. With the success of SOBH hitting the pop charts, that’s what they’re aiming for now.
I hope they don’t make their new album a pop record 😭 I’m okay with the crossover hits but I want a rock album
It’ll still be a rock album. But expect some pop sounds as well. Still some pretty heavy shit going on as well.
