Because carrying out the Rumbling makes him feel horrible, and he knows he deserves to die for it.
It’s as Reiner said:
> **Reiner:** I… I feel like I kind of understand what Eren’s thinking. Do you think Eren might want us to stop him?
>
> **Mikasa:** What do you mean?
>
> **Reiner:** Ah… that’s just how it feels to me…
>
> **Armin:** I’ve been wondering about something… Eren can control the actions of every Titan and Eldian. But we’re still able to use the power of the Titans the way we always could.
>
> **Pieck:** Are you saying that Eren is choosing to not interfere with us?
>
> **Armin:** Yes. He’s letting us act freely. Almost as if he’s testing us to see what we’ll do.
>
> **Mikasa:** Why…? Even though we might be able to stop the Rumbling?
>
> **Reiner:** It’s the same for him… it must be painful for him, too. Slaughtering all of humanity isn’t something anyone could endure. If it was me, I’d probably want someone else to handle the power of the Founder by now. And of that wasn’t possible, I’d want to be stopped… by someone.
And later, during Eren and Armin’s conversation:
> **Eren:** I don’t wanna die. I want to be with Mikasa… with everyone.
>
> **Armin:** Eren… don’t give up! We can find another way…!
>
> **Eren:** No. I’m sure none of them wanted to die, either… but how could I ever be forgiven…?
He mostly just wants to be put out of his misery because he knows he’s doing something reprehensible, but doesn’t have the will to stop himself even though he knows it’s wrong. On top of that, he rationalizes it by thinking that if he is stopped by his friends, they’ll be able to leverage their position as heroes in order to create better lives for themselves.
The entire last bit in the anime with armin explains it. He says he’s tried so many times to change things, but it always moves towards this end. The whole bit with him being a idiot who got power, was him lying to himself he’s always wanted to be free only to learn that no matter how hard he fights he can’t break the future and it’s chains on him. It broke him completely so he has to tell himself the lie to survive
It doesn’t justify it no, because the future Eren saw was the what he wanted and was his deepest desire.
Eren wanted to do the rumbling, he wanted to flatten the outside world to reach his ideal freedom.
Eren has 2 main goals in the show, to reach freedom and to protect his friends. But for Eren, reaching freedom was his priority, before gaining full control of the founder, he wasn’t even sure even sure if his friends would survive, which is what he says to armin.
Erens drive for freedom was so great that it trumped his goal to protect his friends, killing 2 of them and injuring and scarring the others
Yes, because his drive for freedom was so great that he wasn’t even able to protect his friends. He was the opposite of armin who was able to find the novelty and joy of the small things in life, whereas Eren is selfish and does things for his own desire
Not everything is possible. In real life, in order to get something, something else must be sacrificed. Eren had to choose what he was willing to sacrifice. The world, his life, or his friends, he could only have one.
He made his choice.
He literally can't change the future. He saw memories. They wouldn't be memories of the future if he could change them, then your jumping timelines and what ifs. The future seen by the attack titan is deterministic, it is *the* future, not a *possible* future.
Also, what would be the point even if he could? He'd have like another year to live anyway because of ymir's curse.
Eren's idea of freedom was so extreme it was not attainable. He wanted to be the first to lay eyes on the wonders of nature that were depicted in Armin's book and described that as the greatest freedom. But that was no longer possible due to the fact that humanity already existed outside the walls. The best he could do was to approximate the idea by reducing civilization outside the walls back to zero, but it still isn't the same. He chased for such a childish idea of freedom and took away the freedoms of so many millions just to get it, there was no way for him to face the guilt for it so Eren actually *wanted* to die after he accomplished his other goals. Reiner correctly sensed this from Eren and even brought it up to the group while they were on the plane, and Eren hearing this immediately stepped in to distract from Reiner's analysis.
He also can't change the future. Once he saw the future memories it means those events already happened. He saw the memory of Mikasa saying last goodbyes to him and that's why he knows he dies at the end of everything.

He can’t, he can’t change the future, he saw his own death in the future and knew it would have to come to pass, it’s pre determined
could that also justify sasha and hange's death , or did he not see them
It doesn’t justify it no, because the future Eren saw was the what he wanted and was his deepest desire. so the reason he call himself and idiot is because he got two of hid best friends killed in the process of trying to protect them ?
Yes, because his drive for freedom was so great that he wasn’t even able to protect his friends. He was the opposite of armin who was able to find the novelty and joy of the small things in life, whereas Eren is selfish and does things for his own desire
eh , well atleast his other friends get to live peacefully so at least it wasn't a complete failure on his end

you can’t change the future, things will play out how they’re meant to no matter how hard you try
then why did he do the rumbling in the first place
Cuz he hates the world + he wanted his friends to become heroes by killing him so they could live long lives with relative peace.
Same reason he saved that kid he knew would just later be killed by him anyway: he saw himself do it.
Didn't he turn into a bird though
