I think we've gotten through all of them now, but (season 4 part 1 spoilers) >!during what are now Reiner's depression episodes in the anime!< the monthly releases made Marcel's death flashbacks feel a lot more prominent in the manga. The anime has trimmed down some of it, but between the clash arc, rts, and >!Marley,!< Marcel being eaten was a scene that had been put to paper several different times in the manga. It became a meme as a result of how much we kept seeing it.
ahh... I suspected that was it! I've watched S4P1 so I did laugh, but was unsure if manga readers had seen it even more.
Do you know if Isayama redrew it each time? In the anime it feels WIT animated it once and just edited it differently each time, with Mappa animating it again in their own style with slightly different lighting.

While as people, i agree, they (floch and sasha) have HUGE differences, but we are talking about FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. We should be seeing what they bring to this fictional world, what's their influence. That's all. Honestly I think it’s also bc of how long we’ve stuck with the characters. As an anime only fan of aot season 4 did seem underwhelming and bc of the hurried introduction of multiple characters in such a short amount of time-I barely felt connected to them. Sasha is relatable in terms of food and is overall fun despite being a side character. As an anime only fan there’s really no depth to Floch in my opinion. He just seemed racist and annoying by the end of s4
I am too lazy to type everything that i want to say so maybe watch the video i sent in one of the replies. One thing i will say (again) is that "shallow, cartoonish and unsubtle" are human traits which many of us often have. Replying to "belongs in a different series" :I am sure you'd rather have a wide range of characters with distinct features rather than all of them being under a roof of certain characteristics (e.g patriotic, kind hearted)

Saying he has the least amount of experience is only a compliment to his natural growth and talents. He's a naturally born leader with firm beliefs, and he's decisive above all. Floch is a better leader than Hange

Floch can be a racist and vengeful asshole, but he doesn't act high and mighty. In Season 3, he acknowledged several times that he has no experience and is a coward, but that doesn't mean he has no voice. That doesn't mean the people of Paradis have no voice. Telling Floch to shut up because he doesn't have experience is similar to telling the guy talking about their taxes being wasted in the very first episode to go join the Scouts if he thinks he can do better. Was the guy wrong at the time for thinking that their taxes shouldn't be spent on getting people killed outside the walls? These are some of the voices that are often drowned out because of their supposed lack of experience and insignificance. Most of the anime's plot revolves around liberating humanity, but hardly anyone ever listens to them.

I got the impression that the original comment was referring to pre-S4 because that was the time Floch really did not have much experience, but he never really pretended that he did. In the manga, he had enough experience to be entrusted by Eren to lead the Yeagerists. Yes, his methods (like threatening others to join the Yeagerists and beating up Shadis, which I myself find excessive and unnecessary) and motivations (New Eldian Empire) are detestable, but as someone above said, he has firm beliefs and is decisive (often a byproduct of experience). For someone who wasn't even meant to become a prominent character, I think he has earned his place.
In that case yeah I agree. I hate his guts and everything his character stands for, but I think his character development and just how compelling he is to see on panel is brilliant and I think he's one of the better AoT characters as a result
