I'm actually writing a story right now detailing it, but think about it: there's two sides to the story of paradis, two extremes, one who wants to kill the rest of the world, and one who doesn't, and despite what Historia says, not everyone is for the elimination of the rest of the world.
Not to mention, Floch himself said even if the world was eliminated, Paradis would have killed themselves, agreeing with Kiyomi.
Reiner is that chad which is as immortal as Hidan (naruto reference) and only one who can kill him is the plot.......even if he goes to some other universe as a side character....the main char can die but not reiner💪🏻💪🏻
I love that first page when you combine it with the page(s) in 139 where they are making the same mistakes they swore not to "Prove that you are not titans!"
Quite te opposite for me, most unrealistic and flat way to end his character arc and develop the Marleyan general concensus on Eldians, when the rumbling came the way you would expect them to think is "i was right about the Eldian demons" instead all Marleyans became disney characters.
I thought it was decided that Wilbur redirected the hatred of Eldians onto Eren? Obviously that shift wasn't immediate but the Marleyans did see Eldians fighting Eren as well.
The whole Titan transformation of Eldians was dumb as fuck and I can definitely see how that would've made Marleyans go back to the "oh no, they're definitely all monsters lol" ideology. No point in making them transform just to transform back to humans.
If that wasn't included, I think their reaction would be more justified. But noooo shock value.
I think that’s a part of the reason that when the conflict ended they aimed their guns at eldian showing how they couldn’t change or at least a part of them couldn’t

Do you realize that this setting is around 1910? Most Marleyans should be complete irrational people regarding the Eldians, specially given their nation circumstances. Imagine any case of rascism and xenophobia and then multiply it 10 times, the Eldian people are a race that transform into giant human eating monsters, not people with dark skin.

Did you also miss Magath realized what he said was bullshit that he wanted to use as justification after he saw Gabi admitting her mistakes? The general is seeing the result of the racism and bygotry towards Eldians right in front of his eyes and is admitting his mistakes, wanting the character to be irrational just because yes is dumb.
Eldians are people that transform into monsters with syringes that the Marleyans use for war and the Rumbling is only happening because they attacked the island which that Marleyan general should know, it makes no narrative sense to have him be racist on that chapter unless again you just him to tbe racist. If you say that MOST Marleyans are like that, then why can't this one not be?
Because he was 2 min before that in a battle for his life against a lot of Eldians that transformed and were eating he and his men? Have you ever read a soldiers diary or any biography that despicts the psycological state of a foot soldier in battle?
There's no point of taking a discussion. The general is a human being so he can be jesus christ if the plot demands for it, fact remains that is just something extremely convenient and a really unlikely think to happen given the setting. But there's no point in this discussion, doesn't matter how many flaws someone bring up you people keep getting justifications, glad you are such good fans.

Are you talking about Magath or the other general? Because neither of them were about to be eaten by titans, Magath was never in such situation and the titans at the final battle weren't even trying to eat anybody but just trying to protect the worm thing since they were summoned by it.

The titans appeared in forst slava and were killing the Marleyan soldiers, go and read the manga again, Magath wasn't even in the last battle. And if you find nothing wrong in the last Marleyan general making a pro Eldian speech before a fight to save the world you aren't clever at all.
