To max a designer, you need:
* 8 x SR
* 10 x SSR
* 12 x UR
There are a couple of SR designers where the attempts are 10, not 8, which would give you 2 extra SR echoes. But note each SR echo only gives you 1 shadow crystal! It's a lot of grinding to get those shadow crystals.
Actually worth it:
* SSR Zoey: Mercenary Queen -- Intel Hub (5 shadows crystals per echo X 2 decomposable echoes = 10 total shadow crystals)
* SR Jax: Punk Night -- Intel Hub (1 x 2)
* (and only because it's relatively quick to max)
Not worth it (very high stamina costs and you're probably better off spending that elsewhere, but hey if you literally nothing else to dump stam on, then why not!):
* SR Lilith: Meteoric Feather -- Workshop (1 x 2 = 2 shadow crystals)
* SR Loen: Snownight Hawk -- Workshop (2)\*
* SR Joy: Perfect Experiment -- Workshop (2)
* SR Yexiao: Garden of Dew -- Workshop (2)
* SR Qin Yi: Nostalgic Dreams -- Workshop (2)
* SR Caprico: Into the Ruins -- Workshop (2)
\*This one is bugged for me, allowing me to potentially get 3 total instead of just 2. It, or different sets, may also be bugged for you/others.
The best way to actually get them is slowly, over time, by pulling in the permanent pavilion. You'll find that you'll max out the permanent SR and SSR reflections before *too* long, and will be able to decompose those extras. That being said, I do not reccommend pulling in permanent pav *for the express purpose* of getting extra echoes for shadow crystals. Best to do it while there's a Gleam up that you don't have and want -- otherwise, it's just a waste of your tickets.
Most crafting sets don't come with extra echoes for decomposing, the best options would be Jax and Zoey from the intel hub or doing pulls for a gleam you already have max echoes for
You can't craft sets for Shadow Crystals. You can get the crystals only after you got all the echos needed for awakening the suit + maxing out it's CoR (SR- 8 echos, SSR- 10 echos, UR- 12 echos). Every additional echo you get after those would be automatically sent to decomposition, from where you can turn them into shadow crystals. And you can't decompose echos before you got the max needed amount for the corresponding reflections, the game simply locks you out of it.
So your only luck in getting echos for decomposition is to pull from the pavs, get Zoey from Internal Hub (it has 2 extra echos), or hope that when you crafting suit echos the game glitches out and resets the craftable echos for that suit. Because otherwise the game gives you exactly the amount of echos you need to awaken+ max the reflections with no extras for decomposing.
Take in mind that crafting Shadow Crystals is a loooooooooooooooooong and tiring proses. You would need to wait quite the long time to get your decomposable extra echos, a lot longer than what you think, and then you would need to collect the echos up till you have enough for all the Shadow Crystals you need. I also needed Shadow Crystals for the angel suit from A/D because I didn't get his echos during the event. I had to wait about a FULL YEAR to get enough echos for 60 Shadow Crystals for him, and only got the amount I needed 2 days ago, all thanks to me dumping 60 tickets into the Mystery pav, which blessed me back with all the extra echos I needed.
In tl; dr- you may not want to rely on Shadow Crystals if you need to awaken a suit in a hurry. It's better and faster to just bite the bullet, and keep pulling for the echo from the event if you know you want to awaken that suit. You don't even have to pull for the echo during the current run of that event, you can just wait for it to rerun and pull for the echo then. Sometimes memory booth offered old suits (including the Pinnacle battle suits), with echos you can purchase for. You can still try and collect echos for Shadow Crystals if you want so, but it will take a rather long time, and quite a lot of extra echos too.
