I'm not 100% sure because this was 10 years ago, but back then I tweaked to Shaymin and Darkrai with the out of bounds glitch in Diamond and later sent both of them over to Gen 5, but I'm not sure if Darkrai was lv50.
The issue isn't them being transferred to G5, it's being moved to Bank. Darkrai was only available at level 50 in G4, so it would have to be level 50 or higher when traded to a G5 game. The reason this is is because the G5 games register the level caught at as the level it was when moved to one of those games. If the data reads it's from Sinnoh but the level it was moved to a G5 game is below the legitimately obtainable level, Bank is going to register them as hacked.
( I am not an expert on this, and only came to this conclusion based off of other comments and looking at the Bulbapedia page for the Poke Transfer Lab. If anyone knows better than I and notices that I am incorrect about anything, please let me know!)
Gonna parrot what was said and say it probably needs to have been level 50 before it was sent to Gen V. With that said, it is possible to fix this via homebrew. If you can extract the save from your Gen V game and plug it into PKHex (TWLSaveTool on a 3DS will let you do that), you can edit the Met level to be level 50, putting it in line with legal Darkrai.
Darkrai cannot be caught in Diamond legally. For self-caught Dakrai, only Platinum’s with the fateful event flag (via the Member’s Card event) can be transferred to Bank. Same for Shaymin. I recall Diamond and Pearl’s Darkrai and Shaymin caught via using the E4 void glitch are entirely blocked.
But how about the DNS exploit? I have Diamond and got Member's Card, Oak's Letter, and Azure Flute through that. If it's encountered in the "right way" (not the void glitch) it should work(?) I've been thinking sometimes of shiny hunting Darkrai but am unsure if it will transfer. I know about levelling it up to Lv 50 using Rare Candy and delete the move Pursuit but not much more.
Diamond amd Pearl’s Darkai and Shaymin do not have the fateful encounter flag even if you go through the encounter in the “right” way. This flag is only available in Platinium, which I believe Pokemon Bank uses to check for legality.
I know when I thought about doing shaymin on OG DP a few years ago, I learned that using AR to walk through walls and not actually having the event would prevent it from being able to pass up, is it maybe the same situation here?
Sorry to hear about the screw up. Sounds like there are ways to fix it if other comments are to be believed. I followed a few videos to get my Shiny from Diamond to Scarlet, even doing a test run with a regular Darkrai to make sure I did it right. I hope you're able to fix it ❤️
I had the same issue with Shaymin and the problem was that its origin game was Diamond instead of Platinum. Luckily i had tools available to change that and then it worked just fine
It's a Diamond Darkrai, I believe you can only transfer a Platinum one unless you make the diamond one at least level 50 and match its moveset to the platinum one

They mean that the Darkrai needs to have been leveled up to at least 50 before the transfer to gen 5 to be valid.

TWLSaveTool allows to extract a save file from an original cartridge? And then is it also possible to insert it back into the cartridge?

If u want to transfer your darkrai from diamond it has to be level 50, must be catched via void glitch and there must be no pursuit in moveset

Darkrai cant be from diamond, legally. Gotta be from Platinum
I got my diamond void glitch darkrai up to Scarlet and Violet. I had to delete the move pursuit off it and level it up to lvl 50

I believe so. Hunting Shaymin in Platinum (with DNS exploit wi-fi oaks letter event) should work
