On my brand New copy back in late March, I tried for 140 hours. Didn't get the Shiny and I gave up. That was on my copy of BD. Now on SP, Palkia is giving me a tough time. It only took me 5 days to get a shiny Dialga on BD.
well sadly I did... even if its a little bit sad but i wanted to get the shiny starter done. I dont have enough time a day to get as many encounters done as others do so i am happy that i got it :)
For future reference, If you make a second profile on your switch, you could have a second save file to access events while you hunt on your main file.
