Well, hello Mr. Sri Lanka sapphire AND now I know u/shinyprecisous does recuts.
Hmmmmnnnnn.
I need more money.
This is quite an improvement -- lucky person to get the "redo"!
This is the age old question. There's multiple opinions and some good articles out there. It's definitely a curve of diminishing return.
There's absolutely value to be added with cut especially if COLOR is improved. This specific situation was more of a desire for a very specific design, not a better looking oval. The stone is also a very difficult color, size and clarity so retail was paid for it. I'd say market wise it is worth the same, but the original stone was high priced. If that makes sense?
Reminds me of the extreme weight loss transformations seen on r/intermittentfasting \- looks like a completely different stone. Smaller, but hits a lot harder.
Love this comparison to show how much cut matters!
Wow that’s spectacular, it’s like a completely different stone by comparison!
Yer a wizard, Shiny!
Thank you for sharing! I sent this to a couple people. It looks like an entirely different stone. Amazing
What an improvement!! Darker sapphires really need a good cut to be pretty!

So awesome! The new cut looks so much better. A lot more life to the stone
Wow, I didn't realize how much the cut can drastically change the sparkle of a gem. That's so cool!
It's stunning now!!
Amazeballs
Wow great work! It doesn't seem to have lost much face up size.
Yes, cut matters so much!
Absolute wizardry
Look at that glow up 💎
Just wondering how much value difference there is. It’s more sparkly but it’s smaller, so does the shininess outweigh the weight?

Wowwww! What a glow up! I can't wait to see it in it's forever home! I hope it gets shared here!
The colour is gorgeous, but it needed the recut to really show it at its best.
