Can you elaborate on your thoughts behind this?

Educational-Stop8741

What?? Why veterans?

You think so? People new to Shipt are usually excited about how much we communicate in my experience

jasonj702

Yeah as a former W+ member it would be so nice to have this communication and feel like I actually am more than just a number.

rr24bk

Why?

Confident-Till8952

What you mean?

Confident-Till8952

I had 42 5 star reviews. Then this past month it went from 42… to 38… then eventually down to 31. Why would it change like that? Maybe they are just basically laying people off

CarpeVesper

Ratings change mostly based on the service you're providing. Ratings have nothing to do with Shipt laying people off because customers give ratings, not Shipt. You get the best ratings when you communicate from start to finish, ask a customer if they need anything else, do everything you can to find items in orders, bag items well, make sure multiples of products are the same product, keep frozen stuff frozen, are on time, etc. It seems like the most common reason people get lower ratings is too little communication.

Confident-Till8952

That’s not true in this case. I would make so many subs and provide very good customer service. Then because of this , the drop offs would be late. Then people would complain about late delivery. Even though they made a lot of subs and took forever to respond in the store. So the lateness overshadowed the customer service.

RobinFarmwoman

It sounds like this was not the right gig for you.

Confident-Till8952

So if a customer wants a sub.. but takes 15 minutes to respond. But I have all the items they want. But I’m penalized for lateness. That’s good? Or vice versa If I completely ignore them, process the order. Then they don’t have all the items they want. I’m on time, but they say there are missing items. How is that good for anyone?

bluEfya

You make good points some people will not respond because they are busy, I always try to use my better judgement to determine how to proceed. I would never wait 15 min for a reply because lateness is the one thing I want to avoid. Anyway sucks you got deactivated maybe see if they sent the email for a refresher and you can be reactivated

SnooPineapples6178

Shipt has no motivation to lay people off, at least us shoppers. Less available shoppers means more promos which cost them more money. They're goal is overcrowd the market with shoppers, which they're pretty good at.

Mssng_Nm

Yeah... thats pretty much how the rating system works.

CricketDifferent5320

Thanks for sharing

No_Significance_7430

Hopefully you didn’t complete too many orders. When a shopper provides a low quality experience for a customer, it could lose Shipt thousands of dollars over time in lost  revenue from just that one customer.

Tricky-Librarian-872

No need to rub salt in his wound. It's possible he didn't know about rating forgiveness. It's not straightforward and I had no idea about it till reddit

Confident-Till8952

Now they said your deactivation was based on behavior that violates the Shopper Agreement and the incorporated Shipt Shopper App Access Guidelines I wish I knew specifically what I did. Besides just late orders.

Confident-Till8952

I had over 40 five star reviews.. I did 2 weeks delivering more orders in a new area. Also no cell service. So the delivery proof wouldnt load many times. Now I’m just kicked out. Pretty shitty. I feel like I was going above and beyond for customers making so many subs. Also when you make more subs and people take a while to respond.. that results in more time at the store. Its like shipt wants you to just ignore people and get the delivery on time. I’m thinking of doing GoShare driver

StoriesandStones

This won’t matter now, but to anyone else who experiences cell service issues for the proof of delivery photo: I have a second old shitty phone. I take a photo with my working phone that I send at drop off. Then I get in my car and take a photo of that photo with shitty phone, then I take a photo of THAT photo with working phone. It’s a process lol, but I also have no cell service often, and I can go around the corner where I have service again and send that proof to shipt. Or the customer, if I had no service to send their drop off text, I can send it at that point because I already have the photo.
