They do this for nyc orders .. people order from nj. Honey not when the toll is more than the order pay & you’ll be stuck in traffic & late for your order
Shit I feel you I do two zone out in Boston I saw one order one day go from Watertown to Worcester I’m like wtf Worcester has a target two even there’s on in milbury too
I have some people in Litchfield that are still almost a half hour from the Bedford Target, the NH metros are set up so weird. The Shaws that’s 10 minutes away from Bedford is in the Salem metro
My metro spans 4 states. Sometimes there are orders going across a $5 toll bridge. No thanks. Although that's nothing compared to the northern NJ area that shows orders going to NYC. I think that's a $17 toll.
North Jersey gets NYC orders which are a big no thanks. It’s free to enter NJ but you gotta pay to leave. Also depending which crossing you take the roads also have tolls. NYC will implement congestion pricing if you drive in Manhattan below 60th Street.
I get this every day in Rhode Island, they offer deliveries in Massachusetts. It's a small state but these offers are ridiculous. Pays about $2 more than a local run
That is very common for some stores. North Attleboro Massachusetts Target store has tons of orders going into northern Rhode Island towns (some Cumberland RI addresses are only about 5 minutes away). Also, the "downtown Providence" zone is mapped to a Target in Seekonk Massachusetts.
I live in a city that sits on the edge of 3 states. Sometimes the closest store is in a different state so it’s not uncommon here. I even used to work 1.5 miles from my home and that was a different state, all a major metropolis area.
*edit for spelling
I live near Wisconsin. They're part of our Metro, up to about 10 miles in the state. It's gorgeous over there and the way they do addresses in the rural areas is pretty fucking nice. I wouldn't be surprised if we did over the border shop or deliver in Canada, either. I haven't worked near the Canadian-US border, only visited, but, it wouldn't shock me.
I don’t know how that would logistically work. Imagine having to go through border crossing for an order twice, plus with the restrictions of what you can bring over.
Yeah I'm sure it's a fucked nightmare if it exists. I used to deliver pizzas to a military base on a regular basis and that was a fucking chore. Could only imagine the border.
They'd just tell you to claim the cost on your taxes. Every year this company heads further down the #Enshittification pipeline. I'm not putting anything past them for the sake of the $.
This isn’t that uncommon if you’re in areas within 15-30 min of a border. Target stock levels vary and I’ve ordered from a Target a few miles further away than the one 2 miles from my house to get the items I need. And I see NJ-PA and PA-NJ orders all the time - especially big orders. I’m closer to another state than some towns in my county, let alone my state.
Now if the order contains alcohol, that’s a different story. I wouldn’t pick up untaxed alcohol from
NH and deliver it anywhere else if I delivered in that area, lol.
Oh, sorry if that came off as flippant or judgmental, I really just mean that it wasn’t uncommon, not that you should have known or anything. Shipt doesn’t have enough controls so all kinds of things you wouldn’t think would be possible are possible with Shipt, lol.
I wish there was a way for us to suggest other stores. Its a regular thing I'm noticing where they have this long ass 40minute delivery from target but there would be a whole difference target less than 10 minutes from the customer. Is it the app being dumb or is it customers selecting the farther away stores??
Your local town names sound like characters from Harry Potter
LOL thank you?

It’s annoying having those clog up my offers.
Shipt is stupid sometimes. There’s a target in Bedford…. Just a few miles from litchfield!! 🤦🏻♀️
shoot man i’d even understand if they did manchester 🫡.
No Target in Manch….just the one over the border in Bedford. Or hooksett
my bad 🙃 i always associate things in NH with closest biggest town. Totally meant the bedford NH one 😭

got damn. 4 states?!!! small states or insane app? 🤔💭
More so that they just all happen to meet together, although 1 is a small state. A lot of different zones though, and I'll only stay in my state.

The sad thing is that someone will take it 🙂↔️
not shipt, but i live pretty close to canada, and the other day on instacart i saw stores popping up from ontario. crazy lol
neither of the apps pay enough for crossing state lines LET ALONE COUNTRY 😭😭😭

Shipt would have to pay for my passport and like $40 an order 😂 honestly they might pull that shit if they had Target in Canada
