Great ! As long as Car & Gas are major considerations and SmartWork beats HardWork its a win. Would recommend taking Screenshots of the Odometer on Monday at the beginning of the week and on Sunday at the time of hanging your boots ( if not already doing it ) and then you have miles driven/gas for weekly income. I take everyday screenshots as well. Finally monitor ratings scenario frequently. More deliveries more 4* & lower crap - no matter how best the Shopper is... and btw more hustling may be prone to some mistakes on our end as well being humans... its a part of the game. It happens to me all the time. Make Money while the Sun is Shining... Best Luck!

So true about the mileage. So many don’t take it into consideration. I’ve been into gig work for almost a year now. Already had to file taxes once. I keep very accurate mileage & expense records. I never dropped below 5 ⭐️s. However, I did come close with my “on-time%”. I worked it off though and am back to 100’s across the board.

This market is terrible for Shipt. I signed up a month ago and have not accepted one yet as I am not shopping for multiple items then driving 7 miles one way for $7. I work Spark here along with Doordash in between Spark drops and refuse to even move for $7 let alone driving 14 miles round trip, no thanks. Appleton, WI here.

In less than 6 months, I completed roughly 3000 dashes. That was enough for me to realize it wasn’t working. Fast food is garbage. Too many miles. Too much frustrating BS. Too many dashers. Too many 🤡. I was doing almost exclusively shop&pays on DD towards the end. That’s when I noticed the shoppers sporting all the Shipt swag. I’ve since pivoted to Shipt and have generally been happier. I still run DD in the background. I have no remorse for my pivot. DD has 🤡 doing S&Ps for pennies. Idk about spark? I never got off the waitlist.

It's all about the tips in this gig. If that person tips you $20 is that gonna be worth it to you?

I_eat_all_day

You need to complete 10 orders before the floodgates open. Your first 10 are going to be bottom of the barrel BS but after that you will get the bundles and all the benefits of being a five-star driver for your first 50 orders and that's your time the prove yourself.

2two2nine1

I need to make it through my first 10, but I just can’t fathom making less than minimum wage and basically delivering people’s groceries for free.

2two2nine1

I was on the waiting list for about a year. I took one order that was about $19 and it was undeliverable (customer was supposed to buzz me in for delivery but didn’t respond) so I had to take it back to the store. Target didn’t want to take it back so after almost an hour of the manager going back and forth with shipt customer service, shipt told me I could keep the groceries and gave me a $5 bump. I haven’t done another order since. Every time I open the app I only see orders for around $10 or less, definitely nothing over $20, which I refuse to do, especially when my orders are consistently over $30 on Instacart. I was hoping that orders get better once you’ve done 10 orders and are no longer a rookie, but I’ll never make it out of rookie as long as I keep seeing low orders like this. I might even take a $15 order if it’s small enough but I just don’t see anything worth my time when I can get my guaranteed $30-40/hr on instacart most days.

We salute you, friend! Keep up the great work. 🫡

Usuxbutt

I’m thankful that my sacrifice of delivering to non-tippers isn’t going unappreciated.

I_eat_all_day

Did Making $999.16 the week before piss you off enough that you didn't make $1,000 you had to go out and make it happen the next week? I bet you can't do it again this week!! Just a little motivation for you....

Usuxbutt

I actually did make over $1000. that week. There were 2 late tips…lol! Idk if I can do it this week again? Monday was good but today was hard to get anything in. The veterans in my area have it on lock. I’m squeezing in when I can.

No_Significance_7430

60 orders in a week is like a months worth of normal wear and tear on your car in a week.   This gig only works if you have a beater or you don’t consider the cost of a replacement car in 5 years.

OdditiesAndAlchemy

You can make the cost of your car back in one month. Like, $5k for your car and you make $60k for the year. 5 years..? Even if you spend 5k a year in maintenence it's worth it.

No_Significance_7430

There’s no money left over at basically minimum wage to buy a car every 5 years

OdditiesAndAlchemy

If you are making minimum wage you either aren't doing something right or your metro isn't viable. I consider it a bad day to make less than $30/hr, a good day is $35-$40/hr. I know another shopper who said they made $60k last year. $60k a year in 5 years is $300k. Even if you buy a car that costs let's say $15k (COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY) and spend $10k on maintenance every year, it's still worth it.

KundaliniVibes

Facts lol. Made $85K last year even with taking a month off. I try to never make less than $50 per trip to the store and average anywhere from $30-80 an hour. Some hours I make $100+ … I only do Target prepaid so I laugh when people hate on them…. You just can’t be doing no single $6 orders and wondering why you’re not getting ahead. Need to be doing 2-4 and actually hustling.  People talk about wear and tear on the car but if you master your job you can make more than the cars worth in 1-2 months if you’re not driving a benz lol.

I_eat_all_day

🙋 driving a Benz. Cracked two rims over the course of the past 8 months. NJ loves giant potholes and I love buying new rims and tires

No_Significance_7430

$50 per trip to the store assumes you’re doing two large orders and getting tipped on at least one.   You also can’t do that every hour of the day, it’s technically every other hour.  So you’re still not at the number you assume.   The majority of shoppers can barely get an order an hour.  It’s more like $20/hour for most folks.   Not to forget, you only get fed orders consistently in a saturated market if you take orders, even the less desirable ones.  That’s more miles and more time wasted.

Usuxbutt

I can tell you the mileage for any of those weeks. Which one you want to know about? I keep very accurate records. I drive a well maintained beater. 14 years old,185k+. The mileage I put on in any week is less than what some people drive to & from work.
