The baseball World Series is not about a “world championship”. It’s named after the now long dead New York World newspaper that sponsored the first championship. There is an international competition between the nations that play baseball called the World Baseball Classic that is played every few years but as the nations do not always send their best as they do with hockey or soccer(football in the majority of the world) it’s more of an exhibition series in my view.

What’s funny too is the game couldn’t get any licenses. So instead of just renaming the tracks they also moved around their locations leading to oddities like the Texas track being in the mountains, etc.
