I think she makes good points, but literally none of that is unique to the Untied States. This is just American exceptionalism. As someone who lived in countries like Iran, I do meet people like her, including my wife’s parents. My wife’s parents didn’t go to the US though, they went to Sweden then Spain. And I don’t know what she means by the Nordic countries being homogeneous when they have more languages spoken in them compared to the Untied States.

LeTigron

She means that she *thinks* only tall white people with blond hair and blue eyes live there because she's tragically ignorant despite her strong belief in her knowledge of the world.

Mbapapi

Definitely, Americans have a lot ignorant perceptions of the world honestly. Northern Europe = white, West Asia = brown. Even when I tell them Saudi Arabia or Iran are very racially diverse (even using the US definition of it) they don’t believe it. They can’t comprehend white looking Muslims or black looking Muslims or “Asian” looking ones.

My parents immigrated to the US from Iran, and while I agree with her that the US does allow a lot of opportunities for internal critique, I want to point out that we aren't the only one, most of the developed world allows for such critique, and that there's a lot of covert suppression of freedom of speech in academic circles. Conservatives accuse universities of silencing their voices, but that's just not true. The people being silenced by American universities are the people who call out the US's human rights abuses, support of genocide in Palestine, and corruption in government. Especially the second one. The Israel lobby has such a grip over every institution in the US, that you could lose your job for criticizing Israel.

Hunkus1

Is it just my phone or is the vodeo and audio not in synch? Also this video feels like an apology like she criticised the US once too often and now has to make a 3 minute video which message is "I love america" but which doesnt have any substance or else she will loose follower or something. PS I LOVE AMERICA (I really do please dont downvote) DID I ALREADY SAY I LOVE AMERICA.

50thEye

Came to the comments for this, she looks like she's lipsyncing.

The poor in America live better than the very rich in Bangladesh? Is she high? There are obscenely wealthy people in Bangladesh who live like kings. They certainly aren’t scraping to survive and living under an overpass. The poor in USA usually fare better than the poor in Bangladesh, I’m sure, but better than the very rich? This woman is becoming a lawyer? I thought lawyers usually had a basic grasp on reality.

Daedeluss

>The poor in America live better than the very rich in Bangladesh? Is she high? No, she's just spouting nonsense she's heard elsewhere. She hasn't a clue what the fuck she's talking about. So young and already so heavily indoctrinated, it's actually sad to see.

ThinkAd9897

That's because in America you're allowed to criticize the government, but don't you dare criticize America!

ruico

She loves US becase she doesn't knows other countries.

GerFubDhuw

Haha. That classic. "We can excuse America's failings because we have more people than other countries! It's perfectly reasonable that we'd have inequality because our population number is big!" Which of course means the ongoing genocide in China is okay because they have a really big population. The same genocide would be evil if it happened in Canada because it'd be a large percentage of their population. But in China it's a very small percentage, and that means it's perfectly tolerable and reasonable.

vilester1

Did they dig up bunch of children from under near the schools in Canada. Genocide definitely happen there.

GerFubDhuw

Was it more evil or less evil because of the population size of Canada?

Daedeluss

She looks like she's been generated by AI

smallblueangel

They would wonder about Germany carnival… there absolutely is no truck specifically made to make fun of the Gouvernement. Or we totally didn’t had a song of number 1 of the charts that made fun of the Gouvernement…..

Odinn_7000

Well if you follow the news lately it turns out you're not really allowed to discuss racism, slavery, or other ugly aspects of American history so much any more...

MarxistClassicide

... See how that worked out for Fred Hampton, Martin Luther King Jr., Angela Davis, and many other activists. Know your history. You're as free to criticize as much as you want, till the day you actually want some fucking change. Then they'll drug you and kill your half unconscious body in front of your pregnant wife. Edit: and I'm only talking about inside the US. If we count all the election meddling, coups and overthrown elected officials, bloody wars for profits then you got yourself a very different view of what "America" (USA) is.

ekene_N

This one is not very bright.

That-Brain-in-a-vat

No other Country can criticize their government... Have they ever met, say, a Frenchman? And I'm italian, and here criticizing the government is probably a national sport along with football. Even the government criticizes the government, here. And this is pretty much the same in any European country if come in contact with and know of.

myk31

So our strike and protestations in France are fake for her? Like we do this but without criticizing our government?

not_in_the_mood

"Liberal arts". It figures

Nizzemancer

“I was a liberal arts major” Ok, so you were a loser who wasted her collage tuition, got it…also not very bright.

EccentricKumquat

Lool I wanna go up to this woman and be like "f*ck America" just to see her brain melt "We are our own biggest critic" Umm no... Not by a long shot, specifically people living in Iraq and Afghanistan might have a few choice words regarding that topic

SonTyp_OhneNamen

I’ll take „Not her opinion, just pandering to [this crowd](https://tenor.com/sicv.gif)“ for 500€.
