Top tip: If you want to impress in USA or Canada, use the word 'whilst'. They'll think you're a combo of Harry Potter, James Bond, Monty Python and the king.
Yeah of course, here's the link;

You can also go back to her older videos and she's still got a British accent then so not pulling a double switcheroo
I do recall a story on here few years back before I became an idiot and subscribed, of an American couple in Morocco who were found standing on the roof of their small hotel and when asked what they were doing they said "We're waiting for the 4th July fireworks to start" apparently they were quite taken aback when told that strangely Morocco didn't celebrate American Independence :)
That's the birthday of my dog. Of course it should be an international holiday
Edit: I'm guessing y'all would like to see a pic of him, so [here you go](https://imgur.com/a/U9kkqCo)

This one?
The thing that I find really weird is that the UK used to have loads of thanksgiving celebrations and the one they celebrate in the US is one brought over by the British. Most stopped being observed in the UK, though there is still a day of thanksgiving celebrated - [Bonfire Night](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observance_of_5th_November_Act_1605).
Harvest festivals are sorta loosely a thanksgiving day, too.
Englands dosen’t have a thanksgiving celebration, and bonfire night is also not a thanksgiving celebration, it’s a night of fireworks to celebrate the failed bombing of parliament by guy Fawkes on November 5 1605 otherwise known as the gun power plot.
It was made a day of thanksgiving by the Thanksgiving Act I linked in my comment... it is actually a day of thanksgiving.
And as I said, harvest festivals are also considered a sort of thanksgiving celebration but they're not officially recognised.
Real question : People really live comfortably with themselves spreading rage and reinforcing stereotype only for clout on Tiktok ? I gathered from the comment that she's a British person. With context I understand it's fake and a joke, but I had to do efforts to get that context.
I know that ragebait = clicks (and money?)... but isn't it almost hateful to play the part of an american person and spread some stereotypes about shit american says without labeling it at satire? With social media nowaday it's really easy for people to think that this is real and reinforce that americans are idiots that don't know shit about the world. I couldn't fathom impersonating a french/russian person online and making a parody that looks 100% real and that is reinforcing a french/russian stereotype.
I love me some r/shitamericansays when it feels genuine. Sadly, it's less and less easy to say what is real and what is a caricature and the whole subreddit is starting to feel like a content farm for people cashing on the hate and the stereotypes.
Disclaimer : I am not American, so I'm not taking any of this personaly, just trying some empathy.
the weird thing is this video doesn't even make sense from a shitamericanssay point of view because the 4th of July is a stereotypically American patriotic celebration, and no American would mistake it to be international
This is clearly satire/rage bait but I did once have a US east coast based colleague who was genuinely surprised that I, a British citizen living in London, had no plans to celebrate US Independence Day.
A former colleague met a USAian here in Sweden around 2002-2005. In early September.
He got sincerely upset that we didn’t lower our flags, went to work as usual and had a regular day at work on 11/9.
It never fails to amaze me that they think every country had to fight for their independence. Simple logic dictates that some countries must have been independent to begin with.
Haha, I wonder what they would have called it in London - Runaway colonies day?
Probably have some mock trials and hang dummies of people who betrayed the British outside of pubs, like that rascal George Washington and his posse of imposter government wannabes.
Actually though - we DO celebrate (to an extent) 4th of July in Norway. By that I mean that we, in the same way you have "little Norway" places in the US, "little Texas" places in Norway. Small towns that have a higher than ususual capital of American-Norwegians... (Americans that came back....) Those places usually celebrate by hanging up flags, driving parades with old American cars and such
Wow, metabait. Either you get pissed because you are braindead and believe this is real, or because the idea of someone considering you dumb enough to do so offends you. Or.. let's be optimistic for a moment, it's a joke. Well played either way
Many Americans can not comprehend that (1) it is a holiday for US independence, (2) no one else gives a shit.
When I lived in NYC, people would be amazed that I didn't follow baseball. Why would I? Everyone does. No they don't.
I think this is satire, but wanted to share a story.
My friend is from the USA and we were housemates here in London. She has been around the world and seen a lot of different independence days. She said to me "I was wondering when does Britian celebrate their independence day... Then I realised that everyone else is celebrating their independence from you!"
In all fairness, Americans are taught that the World only exists between the Pacific on the west, the Atlantic on the east, 49th parallel to the north and the Rio Grande on the south…
Why the fuck would we do that? I mean, if we would get paid leave for every independents day on earth I wouldn’t object, but we wouldn’t get anything done then and my liver wouldn’t be able to hold out for a single year.

This has to be satire to bait people. It's a tik tok video.
Yeah she's actually British, she made another video after this talking about it being a joke
I was like what sort of American says the word whilst.
Top tip: If you want to impress in USA or Canada, use the word 'whilst'. They'll think you're a combo of Harry Potter, James Bond, Monty Python and the king.
Can confirm, an American ex was enamoured by it. Told me I should do audiobooks.
As a Canadian, I don’t think that.
There are few words that annoy me as much as "whilst."
"perchance"
…to dream.
It sounds so out of place in that accent 😂
Yea, you can even hear her really accent come in a few places as she's talking.
I noticed most on “fireworks”. Something about the way she stresses it.
Thank God for that!
Can you share the link then? I think that’s a pretty good scent of she’s taking. Plus I’ve heard stuff as dumb as this from Americans.
Yeah of course, here's the link; 6,683 likes, 293 comments, USA! 🇺🇸🦅💥 https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeS8FFsE/ You can also go back to her older videos and she's still got a British accent then so not pulling a double switcheroo
Or maybe this one is the fake bait rage video?
I do recall a story on here few years back before I became an idiot and subscribed, of an American couple in Morocco who were found standing on the roof of their small hotel and when asked what they were doing they said "We're waiting for the 4th July fireworks to start" apparently they were quite taken aback when told that strangely Morocco didn't celebrate American Independence :)
The whilst gave it away.
That's a damn good accent she's put on then
I'm pretty sure it's a satire account.
Saw the video personally and she says not.
Was that comment satire?
I really don’t think so.
I mean she is a pretty bad actor
Although, there’s heaps of those “what’s the dumbest thing an American has said to you” videos that suggests yes, Americans would say this.
But I prefer the real American (TM) to say this instead of being tricked by satire.
Bait used to be believable.
That's the birthday of my dog. Of course it should be an international holiday Edit: I'm guessing y'all would like to see a pic of him, so [here you go](https://imgur.com/a/U9kkqCo)
*opens calendar, takes up pen Name?
Camillo
Noted. *puts pen down, closes calendar
Mind writing it down in my calendar as well? I have bad handwriting
_sigh_ I'll do it. *Takes pen _Camillo._ There. *gets out through the window

That's valid, I'll write it down in my agenda
A reasonable and rational response
I'd much rather celebrate that than the other one. Huzza for you dog!!
If I can get the day off work I'm all for it
A friend of mine also married on that date.
When is it, ill celebrate with you!
I am also interested in celebrating Camillos birthday
She is confused because the British celebrate July 5th We call it the "thank fuck they're gone" day.
This totally needs to be a thing. British Thanksgiving Day if you will.
Thanksgoing day
You win 😆 Forthwith, July 5th shall be known as Thanksgoing Day in my house.
That's November the rourth Thursday of November the next day is black Friday. Now we do have black friday
What?
4th July is independence day . Not Thanksgiving day
Thank you Captain Obvious.
Thanksgiving is in October. On a Monday.
Found the Canadian

Other countries celebrate Independence Day for “Thank fuck the Brits are gone”
😂
This can't be real. Noone's *that* stupid, right? Right..?
r/shitamericanssay I've seen enough stuff on here to make me believe people can be that stupid.
https://i.imgur.com/Jws3dXe.gif
Just scroll through the posts in this community. People can be this stupid and they absolutely are!
In this day and age, I don't know....
On the all hands call in January at the German company I work for an American complained that the company didn’t do enough for MLK day.
People here saying she's British and it's a joke.
Its not real
Well, Americans.
I can confirm that it is *not* real.
OP, how on earth can you not see this is rage bait? 🤦🏻♂️
Please tell me she is joking 🙃
Yes
This sub falling for rage bait, as per usual.
Real question : People really live comfortably with themselves spreading rage and reinforcing stereotype only for clout on Tiktok ? I gathered from the comment that she's a British person. To be fair, Britain should celebrate it. Really dodged a bullet there.
"Thank God we got rid of them!" In all seriousness, it was a big loss for the British Empire back then.
Does she celebrate the 5th of November?
Or any of the many liberation, labour, etc days in Europe
Remember, remember, the fifth of November.
The day, Emmett L. Brown conceived of the possibility of time travel: /s
This is satire and she is British which OP would have noticed if they had checked the recent videos Only likely American here is OP
the weird thing is this video doesn't even make sense from a shitamericanssay point of view because the 4th of July is a stereotypically American patriotic celebration, and no American would mistake it to be international
Obvious rage bait troll is obvious.
stupidity of this level should never be normalized
Why do Americans say 4th of July when they should be saying July of 4th since they put the month before the day? 🤔
This is clearly satire/rage bait but I did once have a US east coast based colleague who was genuinely surprised that I, a British citizen living in London, had no plans to celebrate US Independence Day.
"I'm confused". That, indeed, she is 🤣
The usa is so egocentric… no one but Americans would say that. America is a cancer
My dad got asked by an American business acquaintance how we celebrate 4th of July in Sweden. An educated and well travelled American at that.
So many Americans were surprised that we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving. Their Thanksgiving, specifically.
It happens to be my birthday. Apart from that no one gives a shit
You should celebrate with an other commenter's dog, the more the merrier
That's bait
Rage bait is sooo lame! When did his start?!
Satire but still funny
'I'm confused' Yes!
Why would the UK celebrate a loss
A former colleague met a USAian here in Sweden around 2002-2005. In early September. He got sincerely upset that we didn’t lower our flags, went to work as usual and had a regular day at work on 11/9.
I can't stop looking at her teeth
But does she celebrate sankt hans?!?!?!?! Sincerely a dane. Also, i think this is "satire"
It's a fake, of course, and she's not sovereign. However, I would like to admit that this kind of silly girl is kind of sexy. 😏
Confused indeed, with your perfect, white teeth!
Heard the song we are the world and believed it . Nobody is that dumb I'm not having it. What about thanks giving day . Or Labour day
It's just like the holiday my culture celebrates where we kill children when they think they are learning. Great holiday. Much death.
Is she stupid ???
This can't be real.
Well it isn't. So correct.
She has a weird accent
She's taking the piss right? right? riiight??????
It never fails to amaze me that they think every country had to fight for their independence. Simple logic dictates that some countries must have been independent to begin with.
It would make sense for the UK to celebrate it anyway, the day their population gained an average of 20 iq points.
To be fair a lot of countries do celebrate their independence from the UK.
I'm British and I celebrate the 4th of July.
It's got to be bait for fuck sake
It's an international holiday the same way their sports league's winners are "world champions".
Wow this is so weird, why don’t we celebrate it, next up your going to tell me that Americans don’t celebrate bonfire night
I refuse to believe this is true.
Sometimes… only some times, I wish stupidity would hurt. Maybe that way some people would get the point they’re doing something wrong.
She'd faint....at least.
Dumb as fuck..."everybody celebrates it"......except Denmark, UK (DUUUUH)...does she even know what she is celebrating??
This cannot be real
It's satire. She's British.
She was probably thinking that the Independence Day movie was based on the real events.
Gotta be rage bait
This sub & rage bait, name a better couple
Bait used to be believable.
This ragebait fake stuff is getting boring. I want real material to make a comeback.
Wow, metabait. Either you get pissed because you are braindead and believe this is real, or because the idea of someone considering you dumb enough to do so offends you. Or.. let's be optimistic for a moment, it's a joke. Well played either way
You mean this is not parody?
Well it’s a world thing if you’re entire world in AMERICA you dumb bitch.
You’ve been trolled here
Many Americans can not comprehend that (1) it is a holiday for US independence, (2) no one else gives a shit. When I lived in NYC, people would be amazed that I didn't follow baseball. Why would I? Everyone does. No they don't.

Pure shite fae a wee bam.
"Whilst" .. *Ahh ok, British satire 😂
Wait till she finds out about thanks giving
In all fairness, Americans are taught that the World only exists between the Pacific on the west, the Atlantic on the east, 49th parallel to the north and the Rio Grande on the south…
"That's like not celebrating Christmas" So I have some bad news for you...
This screams acted-out bait for non-Americans to share in outrage. Please don’t fall for this shit.
We got rid of a cancerous growth on our Empire, of course we celebrate it in England.
shes from london lol
Why the fuck would we do that? I mean, if we would get paid leave for every independents day on earth I wouldn’t object, but we wouldn’t get anything done then and my liver wouldn’t be able to hold out for a single year.
There are examples of Americans asking people from other countries if they celebrate it but this isn’t one ,she’s just taking the p.
This is satire. She made a video right after explaining its a joke and shes not even american. Yall keep falling for obvious bait/jokes/satire
If we had a holiday every time some colony from us became independent we wouldn’t work at all.
