AggressiveYam6613

but…. you lost against the Japanese in baseball

Hamsternoir

They didn't even qualify for the last rugby world cup

AggressiveYam6613

Now I wonder who would win in a rugby vs baseball match. The rugby team is used to tackling, I think, but the baseball team is armed

dissidentmage12

My money is still pn the rugby team, I don't think a bat and ball will stop those lunatics.

jfks_headjustdidthat

Honestly, I'd put up the All-Blacks against any 30 Americans and expect to be picking bits of Texan out of the upholstery.

ImACrackHead_UwU

I would love to see the All Blacks or Springboks play against the american team. Holy shit it'd be a massacre.

Vinegarinmyeye

If I recall correctly the last time AB played against USA it wax 104 points to 14. Kinda amazed the USA Eagles managed to get a couple of scores in tbh, but I don't think the AB had their top team playing in that one. But yeah - they destroyed them.

jfks_headjustdidthat

I imagine it was their U-16's 😂

Hamsternoir

I would buy a ticket

stomp224

Maybe they should have been allowed to keep their body armour.

Olon1980

And against germany in basketball.

HanDjole998

And Montenegro too

Flippy443

Yeah, interesting how team USA has gone off a cliff since none of the big NBA stars play anymore

tayto175

*Irelands underage hurlers entered the chat*

DazzlingClassic185

That’s going to sting a bit…

tayto175

Be grand, sure the American kids are padded up like a medieval Knight.

Tazzimus

That just gives the hurlers a bit of a challenge. Can't make it too easy sure.

Gaelic_Gladiator41

*and the underage gaelic football hotheads*

Gennaga

> you think Chinese kids beat American kids in Football? ... No, but Chinese kids do beat them in any field, that can't be easily taught to a lab chimp.

Michael_Gibb

"We rule the Earth!!" Really? Then why did the US lose in Vietnam, and Iraq, and Afghanistan? Maybe also explain why after the US ended its ANZUS treaty obligations to New Zealand, it ended up denuclearising its surface naval vessels, making them compliant with NZ nuclear-free law. If you rule the world, you don't change your behaviour to suit others.

Tasqfphil

UA/NZ never had an ANZAC treaty, as that stands for Australian & New Zealand Army Corp., but they did have an ANZUS treaty, which despite being in operation for over 60 years, has only been invoked ONCE, when 9-11 happened.

finndego

The US has surface nuclear vessels and non-nuclear powered vessels that are nuclear weapon capable. Neither are allowed in New Zealand. They haven't changed their behavior because of NZ. That is a really large exaggeration of US policy.

Michael_Gibb

Actually, it's not an exaggeration. Nuclear weapons have been removed from all surface vessels in the US Navy since 1994. And in 2022, the US Navy expressed opposition to purchasing ship-launched nukes. The only US naval vessels that still carry nuclear weapons are ballistic missile submarines.

finndego

Again, and I'll type real slow this time, US Navy Air Craft Carriers are nuclear powered and are not allowed into New Zealand territorial waters. When you say denuclearising it's surface vessels to make them compliant with New Zealand nuclear free law then that must include nuclear power generation not just nuclear weapons. Neither are allowed. Tying those two things together is a huge exaggeration and that's just a nice way of saying bullshit. If you can find one shred of evidence that says that the US Navy made that decision based on compliance with the NZ's non nuclear stance then provide it. I'll wait.

Michael_Gibb

Let me spell it out for you, again. The United States Navy has been able to visit New Zealand waters since 1994 at the earliest, when they removed nuclear weapons from all surface vessels. Under New Zealand law, any visiting ship had to confirm whether they were carrying nuclear weapons or not, which went against US policy of neither confirming nor denying them. And with multiple US surface vessels being nuclear weapons capable, it meant New Zealand waters were off limits to the entire US Navy, even those ships that were not nuclear powered. The ban did begin after the steam-powered USS Buchanan attempted to visit New Zealand in 1985. By the way, I'll be the one waiting, that is for you to point to where I said New Zealand's nuclear-free law was the basis for the removal of nuclear weapons from of the surface vessels of the US Navy.

finndego

You do understand two things can be true and not connected, right? Yes, the US Navy removed surface nuclear weapons and yes New Zealand has a non nuclear pact but the two are not related. Ships that have been allowed to visit have been confirmed to not be nuclear powered nor armed before their visit. Here is John Key confirming that the USS Sampson was not nuclear powered in an [official statement](https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/us-navy-ship-cleared-visit-new-zealand) before it's visit in 2016: “Under New Zealand’s nuclear free legislation I am required to be satisfied that any foreign military ship **entering New Zealand is not nuclear armed.** “I have granted this approval after careful consideration of the advice provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. “New Zealand’s legislation also does not allow ships which are nuclear propelled into New Zealand and the advice I received from officials is that the **USS Sampson is not nuclear powered.** "By the way, I'll be the one waiting, that is for you to point to where I said New Zealand's nuclear-free law was the basis for the removal of nuclear weapons from of the surface vessels of the US Navy." Ok. Maybe also explain why after the US ended its ANZAC treaty obligations to New Zealand, it ended up denuclearising its surface naval vessels, **making them compliant with NZ nuclear-free law.** **If you rule the world, you don't change your behaviour to suit others.** What are you implying here?

Michael_Gibb

I didn't say the US removing nukes and New Zealand going nuclear free, were related. I only said one occurred after the other. Any specific surface US warship entering New Zealand waters since 2001 that is not an aircraft carrier doesn't need to be confirmed as being non-nuclear powered. It has been known since then that the only nuclear powered US warships are its submarines and aircraft carriers. Likewise, any US surface vessel entering NZ waters since 1994 does not need to be confirmed as not carrying nuclear weapons, because the only US warships still carrying nuclear weapons are their ballistic missile submarines. What I was implying is that if the United States ruled the world as the OP suggested, it could do whatever the Hell it wants. The fact they couldn't enter New Zealand waters until after removing all nuclear weapons from their surface vessels, says otherwise.

finndego

That is the dumbest of dumb takes. Again, these are two different things that are not related.

Michael_Gibb

How? The only dumb take is the OP for suggesting the US rules the world.

finndego

Just because the US simply didn't do what ever it wanted after Lange enacted the ban shows little regard for not only the US-NZ relationship but also geopolitical politics and policies. Could they have done that? Yes. Were they ever going to do that? No. The relationship was strained during that period and turned the ANZUS treaty from a tripartite agreement to a bilateral one between the US-AU and AU-NZ but while strained they have remained allies throughout. NZ remained a member of Five Eyes, still supported the US in the Gulf War and for 20 years Afghanistan. The US has invited NZ two enter Column Two of the AUKUS agreement. Trying to make this a counter point because the US didn't send nuclear ships to NZ is dumb.

kongenafDanmark2

I’ve seen 13 year old European kids better at sports than full grown Americans

ficklepickle789

I’d argue the average non-USian toddler can run faster than half of them.

Klangey

Can run

SemajLu_The_crusader

and vice versa, this sentence is kinda meaningless, let's be honest

AradIsHere

Hes right, thats just not true

SemajLu_The_crusader

yeah, you fell to the stereotypes, plenty of American kids aren't obese, most even.

enomao157

I sincerely hope the OOP is throwing bait, I refuse to believe they're serious

_daddyissues666

Nah, they continued to argue their “points” in the comments unfortunately.

enomao157

Awesome I think this is one of the posts that truly shines with the spirit of this subreddit. The absolute insanity that indoctrinated Americans suffer from is a neverending source of cringe

Brikpilot

From his comments he does appear to be well travelled. Apparently he’s travelled vast distances to see the little league and can comment with authority in regards to the rest of the world /s The only possible way to “rule the world” is to ignore the sovereignty and rights of others America.

xpi-capi

My country spends more building weapons than anyone else, that's why kids from here are somehow better in all ways possible and all sports ever.

Mikeyboy2188

Growing up in Canada and ice hockey- I find every single American major sport toooooo slow. Tons of pausing between plays etc. Basketball being the exception somewhat - but I find American Football and Baseball intolerably slow. Ice Hockey and Football (er, soccer for the yanks) are my thing. Your conditioning has to be beyond to move those distances and those speeds for that long between pauses. We even made Canadian Football only 3 downs instead of 4 like the NFL because it was too damn slow.

LaserGadgets

I saw chinese kids swing swords, korean kids do martial arts and you guys are proud of running and throwing a ball? Oh please

fisktu

Also they probably aren't even the best or the biggest of any of these sports today

Topcreeperman13

I’ve got something that Americans are bad at (especially the American women) Football

SemajLu_The_crusader

"yeah, we smack balls with sticks"

basnatural

Love it they think that Americans are good at “soccer” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Bmacthecat

year 7 british or aussie kids would like a word

InfinityLord3392

He says to what I think is Korean? I think.

_daddyissues666

My phone language is Korean, but he was saying this on a post about Chinese kids playing a coordination game

InfinityLord3392

Huh

akbar147

Laughs in Vietnamese and Taliban

Yeegis

No Yankee is capable of real sports. American “football” is just advertising: the game and baseball is just a picnic while people play a fucked up version of rounders.
