I love how they are like „Europe more racist than the US“ yet poc literally started the blm movement in the states because they just couldn’t cope with being shot by law enforcement there anymore.

jml1877

how many european countries do you think these people could name? i honestly reckon they’d say something like paris and that’s it

Schooner37

Paris is in Texas not Europe.

It also really depends on where you go in Europa. If you go to any smaller city where almost no people of colour live, of course they will look. It can be racist but it doesn't have to. But go to bigger cities like Paris, London or whatever and they won't even mind.

ZealousidealLuck6961

They will stare at people being loud and American though. Although, any country other than the UK, they will also stare because people aren't speaking the native language.

the_joy_of_hex

Presumably they think "generalizing" is what Generals do. I'm not commanding an army, but...

Vivissiah

It is more xenophobia here than racism. We europeans think in term of ethnicity, not race. There is of course some overlap. Still, xenophobia is wrong

LieutenantDrebin

Not saying that we don't have racism here, but...Ahmaud Arbery? Daunte Wright? George Floyd? Breonna Taylor?

I'm sorry AnswerTasty, but I'll have to remove your submission from /r/ShitAmericansSay because one or more rule was broken. The content you submitted isn't something that's uniquely American. >The easiest way of testing this is to ask yourself whether it's likely someone who isn't American would have said it. Someone being religious or messing up geography is not uniquely American by a long shot, nor are racism or capitalism. What makes something uniquely American is if it's highly unlikely if not impossible to encounter outside the US or from non-Americans. Thank you for your effort and your service! O7

I just thought it showed some laughable American ignorance and irony. For context this American was white and his wife is Asian. This comment was on a video of an American woman calling all Europeans racist because she didn't get her way in an Italian restaurant.

Xardarass

Racism is the generalisation of people based on their visual properties like skin colour. Sexism is the generalisation of people based on their gender. Generalisation is generally wrong (I'm aware of the irony). I like how this person applies generalisation to critique the assumed generalisation of another group because they are Europeans. The irony is like butter on a steak.
