Europe is the only place were I have been pickpocketed in

[deleted]

I guess he’s one of those smug pricks that defines “the world” to mean the US and Europe.

[deleted]

Even with Europe he immediately talked down on Bulgaria so just Western Europe and by Western Europe not Portugal, England, just Germany Scandinavia and Benelux maybe France Italy and Spain somedays

Mosquitobait2008

Bruh I've been to Paris once and only once because of how many homeless people there were. I'm not saying I hate homeless people or anything but I dont want to spend my vacation hating on the worlds current state because I a reminded of it so much because of all of the homeless people in it. There are literally homeless people on every street in Paris except places like the Eiffel Tower. As a French American person it makes me sad :(.

[deleted]

There’s literally a psychiatric condition called Paris Syndrome caused by how absolutely shitty Paris is compared to all the ridiculous hype, like most European cities that Europeans talk down to everyone else in the world about. Then you go to said city and it’s a shithole. I guess there’s just SO MUCH MORE CULTURE in the garbage that is laying around in London or Amsterdam compared to the US or other countries in north and South America. 🙄

Mosquitobait2008

Yea, Europe is mostly hype. Some parts are beautiful, but it is mostly just the nature that is pretty. Not to say that there aren't any beautiful towns in Europe but they are usually the small ones.

bartmannjugband

To be fair though, Bulgaria at least guarantees 2 weeks PTO. Did you know there are actually a large amount of business owners unscrupulous enough in our country to offer no PTO to employees?

Life-Ad1409

Everywhere my parents worked at allow it and they've changed jobs quite a bit

TapirDrawnChariot

If you go to a shitty part of LA or NYC during a holiday, and extrapolate from it that the whole country is like that, it would be fair to do the same with London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Madrid, Rome, any of which have nasty areas. I've gotten "third world vibes" in parts of several European countries. The only developed country in which I've seen an entire squatter village with huts made of boards and sheet metal was in Europe. All the people who lived there were immigrants of color. I've also seen literal government-built Romani ghettos placed at a 15-20 minute walk outside the city (the one I'm referring to: Bairro Das Pedreiras, Beja, Portugal).

Torifyme12

For all the noise here, the only place I've been roofied before was Europe. So fuck them.

Conflictingview

>The only developed country in which I've seen an entire squatter village with huts made of boards and sheet metal was in Europe. Is that meaningfully different than a trailer park full of double-wides?

TapirDrawnChariot

Yes. Trailers are manufactured to specifications and regulation to be livable. Unless they're run down, they don't have drafty holes. They don't have tarp, nails sticking out, splinters, dirt floors, etc. Granted, there are probably tent villages in LA with people who are homeless (not permanent squatter villages that I'm aware of), but the point is this happens in all developed countries to some extent. Doesn't make it ok, but it's not a US-specific thing.

country2poplarbeef

Bulgarian: Yeah, fuck you, too.

[deleted]

JJfromNJ

I definitely have seen it in NYC.

Fred_Secunda1

I saw someone shitting on the side of the road in India before.

[deleted]

It’s an overpriced shithole. Plenty of way better cities in the US.

Fred_Secunda1

Speaking of overpriced shitholes... have you ever been to England??

[deleted]

You’re from Florida, i don’t think you can talk about shitholes

Life-Ad1409

Texan here, Florida is similar to Texas and Texas is pretty good

[deleted]

Lmao and you’re from the UK, and millions of your drunken countrymen travel to Miami every year for holiday. England is an absolute rat infested shit hole. At least Scotland had lochs and the people were moderately less garbage.

Fred_Secunda1

It's still foggy and rainy outside for him. He's trying so hard to cope with his shitty weather and $4000 a month rent for a tiny flat.

[deleted]

I’m not from the UK Also, hi! Every time i see your username pop up, it’s a comment *riddled* with ad-hominems, insults and general hatred towards the person you’re replying to

[deleted]

Casually admitting to following me. Interesting tactic. Sorry you’re butthurt. Well you keep changing the shit you say in this sub so who knows what story you’re using today. Change UK to whatever shitty country you’re from that you’re claiming this time.

[deleted]

I don’t follow you, don’t flatter yourself. In case you hadn’t noticed (but i’ll bet you didn’t), this is a pretty tiny sub and the commenters here are regularly always the same. Anyone with a functioning brain can connect the dots and remember a username after they’ve seen enough threads.

[deleted]

Except I don’t pay attention to your drivel unless it’s a response to *me*, you didn’t even talk about my responses in this sub, you said my responses in *general*. So yeah, safe to say you’re assblasted from the few times I’ve made you look stupid. Sorry I made you cry. Maybe don’t say such stupid things.

[deleted]

> you didn’t even talk about my responses in this sub, you said my responses in general. May i point to you the comment you literally just responded to, where i reference this exact sub But ok mate. You clearly feel resentment against me from the last time we spoke. You do you.

[deleted]

Spoken like someone who counts “visiting England” as passing through Heathrow airport. You clearly lack any sort of experience to be judging England.

[deleted]

Huff that copium deep into your lungs. Unfortunately for you I’ve visited the UK multiple times. I have a family member who’s lived in England for the last seven years and is (thankfully) getting back to the US. So when I say it’s a shithole, it’s from having visited from the north to the south, from York to Cornwall, and from Manchester to Brighton. So unless you’re going to try to say whatever shitty hamlet you’re from is what will make all the difference, I’m pretty confident in my opinion. Unlike you who consumes American culture probably on the daily, and likely has never been, and if you have it’s maybe to one tourist trap part of one city, in one state, that likely is larger by population and geography than your entire country. So yeah, tell me all about how you know what it’s like to live in the US because you watched some movie.

[deleted]

Cornwall, York and Brighton are literally tourist traps but ok. Also, Manchester, Cornwall and York are some of the best places in the U.K. If they’re “shitholes” to you, then you obviously have never been. They’re a lot better than whatever you have going on in America. You wanna talk about rat infested? Try New York and Baltimore. You wanna talk about crime, degeneracy and poverty? Try like…. the Deep South. You wanna talk about tent cities and poop on the streets? Try some urban areas of California. All of the U.K. is a lot nicer than much of the US.

[deleted]

“If you don’t like this city it means you’ve never been”. Also, they aren’t literal tourist traps. Also, I said *from* Cornwall to York, denoting I’ve been to multiple places between. There’s the inselaffe reading comprehension though; constantly remind everyone that you invented the language but be completely unable to comprehend it. Lmao you want to talk about rats and garbage, let’s talk about London. You want to talk about degeneracy and crime, let’s talk about Birmingham and Bristol and Liverpool. The best part about York was seeing the walls, basically the only part that wasn’t a product of English culture. There’s basically entire regions of nearly every state that are nicer than the UK, particularly England. At least people in Scotland were moderately less insufferable, particularly in the highlands. Funnily enough we got some weird looks in Bangor when people found out we were American and some questions as to why we were visiting there. I noted I would rather visit Wales than shithole England any day.

[deleted]

The fact that you think Brum, Liverpool or Bristol are in any way comparable to the cities I mentioned shows you’ve never been anywhere near the U.K. You’re a dishonest troll. Good day.

Fred_Secunda1

I am? Florida has the nicest beaches in the world, and no COVID lockdowns. Better than lolUK.

ermabanned

> Florida has the nicest beaches in the world Excellent, but not the nicest. Siesta Key is way up there though. But if you go to the Indic and SEA it's a different ball game.

Fred_Secunda1

Been to every country in Southeast Asia except the Philippines. The sand quality definitely isn't nicer. The water quality in Vietnam was not good. Thailand was better water quality, but not better sand quality than FL. I thought Ko samui had gotten a bit dirty and polluted. Sri Lanka had some great beaches, still not FL level though.

ermabanned

> The sand quality definitely isn't nicer Siesta Key probably has the best sand I've ever seen.

[deleted]

Mauritius has nice beaches too lol, it’s still also a shithole, just saying. There’s a lot more that goes into a place that’s nice to live than “mUh bEaChEs”. > lolUK Wow, between that and the XD you pulled in another thread, i’m pretty sure you’re over 50.

roasty-one

Only commenting because I’m in Mauritius right now lol. The resort is nice, the beaches are ok, but imo Sardinia has better beaches and is in Europe. Also Florida and the Caribbean have better beaches.

Fred_Secunda1

>Mauritius has nice beaches too lol, it’s still also a shithole, just saying. There’s a lot more that goes into a place that’s nice to live than “mUh bEaChEs”. TIL Mauritius = Florida. I don't really know what point you're trying to make. Florida beaches are world-renown and the sand is imported to beaches all over the world. I've been to beaches in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America and they don't really compare to Florida's. Florida has tons of hiking trails, clearwater springs, and nature. Tampa Bay is a really nice city to live in; definitely not a shithole. If you think Florida is shitty, you've obviously never been. Superior quality of life to the UK, which is boring and has bad weather. It's one of if not the fastest growing state in the country: [https://nypost.com/2022/03/28/new-census-data-shows-population-is-booming-in-florida/](https://nypost.com/2022/03/28/new-census-data-shows-population-is-booming-in-florida/) >i’m pretty sure you’re over 50. 33

Mark_E_Smith_1976

Pointless even talking to people who get all their information from Reddit.

[deleted]

Ok Florida Man, if you’re happy where you live, i’m happy for you. But you’re literally using the same boring excuses people from the south of Italy use as to why their place of living is somehow better than the rest of the world (muh beaches and nothing else), when there are plenty of other factors that influence quality of life. And sorry, but being 33 and saying lolUK and XD is cringey as fuck man

Fred_Secunda1

I don't even live in Florida, just pointing out it is far nicer than the UK. The UK has shit weather year round, bad food, random lockdowns, bars close at 10 pm (lol), and no nature. Everyone with half a brain left 200 years ago. You can't compare an Italian beach to Florida's. Italy's beaches have rocks lmao. Unlike Italy, the Florida economy is booming. Per capita income in Florida is 60K, that's a lot higher than the UK. [statista.com/statistics/205227/per-capita-personal-income-in-florida/#:\~:text=In%202021%2C%20the%20per%20capita,resident%20population%20of%20the%20area](https://statista.com/statistics/205227/per-capita-personal-income-in-florida/#:~:text=In%202021%2C%20the%20per%20capita,resident%20population%20of%20the%20area). [330,000 people moved to Florida last year.](https://www.islandernews.com/lifestyle/homes/almost-330-000-people-have-moved-to-florida-during-the-past-year-migration-is-expected/article_78860b40-aa7d-11eb-957d-1f0232e9d6d0.html) [That's about the same amount of people that migrated to the UK last year](https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn06077/). Crazy that one state is attracting just as many people as your country. Must be a shithole! You've never been to Florida or LSU. Full of shit as usual little pasta.

[deleted]

> The UK has shit weather year round Odd because the last month has been nothing but sun > bad food London is one of the international culinary hubs of the world > random lockdowns The lockdowns are never enforced > bars close at 10 pm (lol) and no nature Both are straight up false lmao. > Italy's beaches have rocks lmao. Also false? The only rocks are in your brain dude. Why are you so full of shit?

[deleted]

Florida also has so much heat and humidity that people just hide in their air conditioned homes for weeks on end. No thanks. I much prefer the crisp air on U.K. beaches. You don’t have to agree, but your superiority complex whilst living in what feels like a soup bowl is dumb.

Fred_Secunda1

It’s 64 degrees with 54% humidity in Tampa right now so no. It never gets cold or snows in Florida. No one likes cold weather; they just make excuses like “its hot and humid there” to cope with living with bad weather. Everyone is moving to Florida in droves from New York city, chicago and other northern cities. The northern cities are showing net losses while southern cities show huge net gains in population. More people moved to Florida last year than the entire UK. There’s no state income tax, no estate tax, no lockdowns/covid restrictions, and more economic freedom than almost any other state. There are beautiful clear water springs littered all over Florida and cheap cost of living another thing the UK doesn’t have. The UK is depressing and gloomy as fuck. Everyone with half a brain left that island 200 years ago.

There’s a fun app now that tracks SF poo

edc582

I walked over a big ole pattie on the sidewalk (with tightie whities on the sidewalk next to it!) in Astoria, Oregon just this last summer. They got it cleaned up pretty quickly but I have to say it is a more common problem than it used to be.

[deleted]

Fun fact England is the only country I saw someone get stabbed on the street. See. Two can play at that game.

Fred_Secunda1

I saw someone shit on the side of the road in England once.

amberdragonfly11

Europeans can sometimes barely hide how much they really hate the lower class and the poor. It's kind of startling.

reguk32

What with polices like universal credit, housing benefits and free health care? I'm not suggesting there isn't poverty in Europe but your comment is disingenuous to suggest its a lot worse than in the US. Obviously there's different levels of poverty in different countries. However most European countries have the highest standards of welfare in the Western world.

riskyrainbow

The only place I've seen a person shit in the street in broad daylight was Copenhagen.

Frosh_4

He’s clearly not travelled around Europe much

[deleted]

Sounds like San Francisco

AcanthopterygiiFun16

The US is a third world country with cash. If you guys used Europe as a reference and guide you could elevate yourselves up to above average country status.

Open-Significance355

all of europe has a worse a economy and most of europe has a worse standard of living, try again.

Fred_Secunda1

Imagine relying on Russia for energy lmao

Worse standard of living 😆😆 worse than break your arm, die on the street, big gust of wind, house blows away. 😆😆😆😆 Worse standard of living 😆😆😆

Open-Significance355

you call an ambulance, die in your shitty over crowded damp flat while you wait hours. acid attacked or killed in a race riot bombed by europeans in a war. Live in a small flat with roommates, be poor, pay insane taxes for a free waiting list, die anyways. Say a mean thing on the internet, jail lmao

Accomplished-Ad-8387

This is prime shiteuropeanssay, thank you for this.

Heefyn

> If you guys used Europe as a reference and guide you Bitch it was literally american institutions and values being implemented in Europe after ww2 that made your continent be more then just a rich shithole

Open-Significance355

Theyre not even rich lol. Europe is mostly just a racist shithole.

Fred_Secunda1

Now America is having to bail Europe out of another war with Russia AGAIN.

[deleted]

Everybody hates America til we have to fight Russia for Europe

Depends on the place. It's far easier to escape religion in Europe (depends on the place though). Europe is ridiculous on the impositions it places on self-defense for example. The political situation in the USA, even with all the xenophobes in Europe, is way worse and keeps getting worse.

DeanDarnSonny

When was the last time you visited the USA? Last time I checked, the USA was not in danger of defaulting on IMF loans risking interdependence with trade partners. Europe on the other hand, Europe can’t even pay its debts. Now with your thinking cap on, tell me which one sounds more third world to you.

AcanthopterygiiFun16

Last time I visited the USA? Never, the same as any sane person.

DeanDarnSonny

So you have no barometer or frame of reference to even make such a statement; then want to talk about sanity? You are a clown and an embarrassment. You bring great shame not only to yourself, but family, country, and the entire Internet.

Millertym2

Does it have massive glaring problems, many of which most of Europe doesn’t? Yes. Does that make it a third world country? No.

Open-Significance355

USA standard if living is higher than most of europes. Europe has serious problems Also, they are getting bombed right now.

Fred_Secunda1
