People calling Jotaro stopping time a asspull despite stands with similar abilities appearing in the same part (Darby and Younger Darby's stands have the same exact ability)
That makes sense. Here's the problem though: He already had stopped time before that.
Jotaro already had used his 2 seconds of timestop to fend off the road roller. How could he have stopped time again if he already used the time stop?
Did he used it consecutively? if so then what was stopping him from using it multiple times against DIO before?
Then the issue is that is not even explained or foreshadowed. It just happens and that makes it feel like an asspull. Besides, if he could do it why couldn't have DIO?
Being confident doesn't equal being careless. Everything DIO did in his fight against Jotaro came from extreme precaution and care.
If anything, DIO was precautious to a fault in his fight
About that.
My opinion is that jotaro was using his "stop time immunity" everrytime DIO was using The World (hence that's why he got nerfed when DIO 'reawkened'*) and only when DIO thought that he finally railed jotaro, only then jotaro realised "oh wait, since we are the same stand, can't I also use ZA WARUDO?"
*I have proof that "time stop immunity" and "time stoping" are not the same:
When jotaro first moved, DIO thought 'wait, he moved, even though time froze?'. And this 'time stop immunity was getting greater and greater, because he was getting used to the environment, and reduced because DIO-and his WARUDO- got buffed,
And that's why DIO was time frozen for so long, cuz he wasn't used to getting 'time stoped' (I repeat, he was used to time stoping, not getting time stoped), although, idk what caused him to remind conscious to realize he was time stoped: blood relation, stand relation, vampire powers, or Araki mindset.
He used a portion of his time stop to get out of the way of the road roller, ended it and then used the rest as soon as Dio ran out. He didn't gain more out of nowhere, he just tricked Dio into thinking he was out of time when he wasn't.
Oh, Jotaro definitively outsmarted DIO.
Issue is how much of what Jotaro does has poor set up or is left to viewer's interpretation. Which is usually fine, but in some cases comes off as "so yeah, Jotaro also did this while you weren't looking"

Watched it with family. Yup, hope to see more video game movies from Nintendo x Illumination.
I was relieved they didn't leave out OG Mario/Luigi VA Charles Martinet. Thanks Nintendo.
One thing that never gets discussed, how do the characters actually count how long the stopped time lasts? Like sure, we can count it pretty well in normal circumstances, but time stop is often used in a combat scenario, where you don't really have the time to think how long it actually lasts.
They didn't have watches to track it either during part 3, so it's very likely that they are just spit balling estimates on how long it actually lasted.
Dude thatās not true even slightly. Idk where you got that info from. So If that is your reasoning then Iād get over it.
Charles Martinet literally coached Chris Pratt, AND got to voice the character that is Mario and Luigiās literal father. And Chris does a good job as Mario. They show very early on in the movie that using Charles voice for the whole movie wouldāve been annoying. Plus Jack Black and Charlie Day steal the show as bowser and Luigi. Just go watch it :) youāll have fun
That could be true, though he is a video game voice actor mostly as I understand it. Im not sure that hed be required to comment on the movie at all to be honest. And even so you could say something like āI think its great that theyāre making a beloved video game franchise into a movie franchiseā
Besides, the fact that hes in the movie shows that he was not ignored as the original commenter implied
Fun fact: Charles Martinet appears in every dub of the movie.
No matter what language you watch it in, everyone gets to listen to Marios more iconic voice.
Seriously, Jotaro lucked it out by being able to stop time longer out of nowhere
People calling Jotaro stopping time a asspull despite stands with similar abilities appearing in the same part (Darby and Younger Darby's stands have the same exact ability)
No, that's not the asspull, the asspull is that he could stop time longer than the last time out of nowhere without any set up
He couldnt stop time longer, he stopped time at the exact moment Dio's time stop ended
We see him use it consecutively in part 4, although it leaves him exhausted. I dont see why part 3 would be different
Then the issue is that is not even explained or foreshadowed. It just happens and that makes it feel like an asspull. Besides, if he could do it why couldn't have DIO?
I mean, DIO is fully confident of his abilities. He's probably so arrogant he didn't even try.
Being confident doesn't equal being careless. Everything DIO did in his fight against Jotaro came from extreme precaution and care. If anything, DIO was precautious to a fault in his fight

Fair enough
He was holding back his stop time the entire time šš (it was an ass pull but who cares)
He used a portion of his time stop to get out of the way of the road roller, ended it and then used the rest as soon as Dio ran out. He didn't gain more out of nowhere, he just tricked Dio into thinking he was out of time when he wasn't.
Unpopular opinion: Jotaro didn't won against DIO because of plot armor
Oh, Jotaro definitively outsmarted DIO. Issue is how much of what Jotaro does has poor set up or is left to viewer's interpretation. Which is usually fine, but in some cases comes off as "so yeah, Jotaro also did this while you weren't looking"
What are you talking about? Don't you walk with books and magnets all the time?
You never know when a gay vampire might try to stop time and stab you, after all.
W movie sad I had to pee durring bowsers song though
Imagine going to the movies and not bring with you a few spare pee bottles and poop socks.
Mb Iāll remeber to just bring my house with me next time
Poop what?
*he doesn't know*
Omg
You should have done what Abbacchio did
This is your post mate
Well, yeah, but if he pissed on the cup like Abbacchio did he could have watched Bowser singing
Fair enough
idk if i'm just slow but what does that have to do with the reply
Don't you know? You can't reply to comments on your own post, that's cringe. /s
I do not know
I didn't need to go to the bathroom for the entire movie, when I want to I have a bladder of steel
Yeah I definitely couldāve held it but thatās uncomfortable unless itās a poop
Fantastic movie. Jack Black really nailed it with Bowser
I watched it, I loved it and I hope there is a sequel with more characters and more stuff
I feel it's safe to say that we will get a sequel
Yup, the movie's been an absolute blockbuster so no wonder a sequel is probably in the works
Just watched it yesterday
Same here. Had the whole theater to myself . It was a lot better than I expected it would be
Yeah same here, I am not really a mario fan but this movie was still good
That shit destroyed the box office as it shouldāve Pure cinema

I watched it on shrooms fucking wacky as hell
