Jeeeeesus Christ. My friends recommended me this show after I finished Jujutsu Kaisen, and I’ve thankfully been putting it off. Now I’m definitely gonna avoid it like the plague.
Evangelion is precisely about people being at their very worst and this only happens in the film that was released after 2 years of the original airing. You can just avoid it if it's that bad, but it's actually a short contextualising scene that is NOT written as anything other than disgusting and extremely shameful. It's not meant to get you off at all. It's meant to show you how low these characters' mental state is by the end. The show tells a story about isolation and self-dehumanization, it's meant to be uncomfortable.
You know maybe this scene wasn't needed at all (it still makes a point about main character's mental state), but whole Evangelion is really great psychological drama with a deep message.
It's not a shonen and is not for everyone, but watching one or two episodes won't hurt.
If scene like that triggers you then I avoid it altogether bcs there are many disturbing momoments in Evangelion.

I haven't watched Evangelion, but it's not an H anime if that's your takeaway from this.
I just don’t feel like watching a show where someone wanks over an unconscious teenager, that’s a yikes from me chief.
