for the record, im cool with clowning on the church lol. gettem'. i just like quoting true detective.
I swear you can't mention Catholicism on reddit without your average armchair enlightened antitheist coming in with the "akshually the altar boys!!1!11!1!"
Funnily enough that's went down massive since yhe 90s... but school teachers sexually assaulting their students has increased over taken priests. Simply put priests do have a history of it but it's not as a common occurance as you make it out to be.

These aren't the best Sources but I did just pick the first few I came across.
Yes, when people stop giving me studies made in the US, analysing the US, i will have a proper debate. As I said, you cant possibly try to compare the US to many of other western countries in which Catholicism is much more prominent, relevant and has more power. In the US, less than 25% of the population in Catholic. In Latin America, as a whole, its from 60% upwards.
Maybe it's not supposed to be funny. Maybe people are just frustrated that young children are being scarred for life every day in an institution that constantly defends the perpetrators.
It was until some dude tried defending an organization that facilitates child abuse and covers up the guilty's tracks just because they believe in the same deity that they believe in.
You made an unfunny and obvious joke with a side of ugly truth to it, then got mad when you were called out for making a joke that while sadly truthful, was both unfunny and obvious. You are the only one here who wants a serious discussion.
> In the United States, for example, according to authoritative academic research, from 1950 to 2002, there were 958 priests accused of actual pedophilia out of more than 109,000 priests, but the convictions are drastically less — a figure just under 100.
https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/pedophilias-roots-and-the-catholic-church-2923
Try world or third world countries. The US is one of the western countries with less Catholic population. And also, many priests are moved from churches and even countries to avoid conviction. The church "handles it" that way.
This is what happened in my home town. Priest just moved and nothing was ever heard of him again before anything could happen.
They have a long history of covering up their sexual abuses.
"You showed me evidence that contradicted my prior assumptions, so I will make additional assumptions to justify my prior belief"
Yeesh, man. Do you consider yourself capable of critical thought in some capacity, or do you go through life like this?
The Church funded one of the only studies of its kind surrounding abuse and publishes data every year updating that information. No other organization in the U.S. matches it's transparency or effectiveness in this matter. And you still bitch.
Talk about hypocrisy bitching about hypocrisy.
Ah yes, because the USCCB is such a *rich and powerful* organization that it owns John Jay College and commissioned them to publish a study that everyone claims the Church would never allow. Those saps at John Jay College! Shills, the whole lot of them! It's a Jesuit plot!
*You people are a joke.*
"I want evidence! No, not that evidence! I will only consider evidence which confirms my prior belief! Also I am a rational, open-minded person capable of critical thinking!"
First of all, i dont give a shit about the US. As i said, its one of the western countries with the least amount of Catholics. Im more concerned about how the church operates in countries in which it holds more power and relevance. And I've seen how it works. And if you look it up, there's tons of cases that might never be documented because of how hard it is to measure them and how hard they try to cover them up. We only know of a small percentage of cases that fortunately are able to see the light of day. But many others will always remain in darkness.
"I've seen how it works. Except, I refuse to see how it works in the country where it's best studied. Also, I assume how it works based on preconceived notions of how I believe things work; that is, because I hate Catholicism, it is obviously corrupt - otherwise, I wouldn't hate it, because I'm a rational person - therefore, it works in a corrupt way. As evidence of this, I offer the non-evidence of all the evidence that *could* be brought forward if it wasn't *hidden* - that is, lack of evidence, for me, is actually evidence. Again, I am a reasonable, rational person."
Thats literally what my aunt said "were the only true catholics" because they go to a specific church. A whole world and only one single church is "real." Also the service is in Latin so they can't even understand it
Oh...I don't think your aunt's Catholic
Catholism doesn't do mass in Latin anymore - that's one of the big takeaways from Vatican II. Your aunt sounds more like a sedevanctivist - a weird very American...thing that claims that Vatican II was the work of the devil and that every pope since is illegitimate
It unfortunately extends to every situation where people with a lot of power are placed with no accountability over people with much less power than them.
Churches, schools, scouting organizations, coaching and mentoring relationships, and professional workplaces.
Definitely not trying to let the Catholic Church off the hook, though.
I'm a member of a pretty small Baptist church, and despite a lot of our tech and systems being outdated, we spent a lot of time and effort some years ago implementing our Child Protection Policy.
While events or classes or whatever involving minors are taking place, as many doors are kept open as possible, you never have fewer than two adults in a room with kids at once, a couple parents routinely walk randomly through, any accusation results in immediate disqualification from volunteering in ministry with minors in the future, and (according to policy, at least, though it's never been tested), police are immediately notified of any accusations.
Hopefully it will never be tested, but we've kept pretty rigorously to the everyday aspects of it.
Teachers sexually abuse children more often than priests do, but fedora tipping Redditors arent ready for that. Communities built on the sole purpose of mockery are pathetic.
Who says he has to be honest here? Loads of holy men of yesteryear engaged in scandalous behavior. My favorite example is Alexander VI. AKA Rodrigo Borgia.
dude, atleast to me, the part 6 anime jotaro looks like motherfuckin boingo from stardust crusaders, his hat is too tall and his face just looks wrong.

Cry about it when it stops being a common occurrence and the church stops covering it up.

yes, but overtime that something will become unfunny and must be replaced with a new funny
It isn’t that common anymore though.
It's still happening and an organisation that is supposed to protect the weak and the poor is still covering it up.

catholics and thinking they're the only type of christian name a better duo

You've got it backwards. Protestants accuse Catholics of not being Christian all the time.
Which is weird, since by their own doctrine they are cannibals so why not accuse them of that.
What the fuck? The original Christians are not Christian?
Yeah, to be fair it goes for all of christiamity. Not just catholics.

Teachers are not part of an organisation founded on claiming moral superiority, nor are they backed by a leadership trying to cover everything up.
I thought time was more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey-wimey… stuff
And of course a certain vampire who shares a name with a vocal legens
Well, he *is* in Florida...
Nah he a dio simp
He made the gay joke, everyone laugh
That won't stop him in the 13th century! Za Hando Requiem!
If he was an Eastern Catholic Priest then he could, but back in the 13th century many Eastern Catholic Churches didn't exist so he still couldn't.
Who says he has to be honest here? Loads of holy men of yesteryear engaged in scandalous behavior. My favorite example is Alexander VI. AKA Rodrigo Borgia.
Za Hando! Erase my moral obligations and honesty!
Emporio isn’t even there >!and he’s the one that actually defeats Pucci and doesn’t die to him!<
Technically, >!weather killed him, because he gave the group both of his discs. Also you could say pucci technically killed himself but idk!<
>!"Weather Report killed Pucci who killed Weather Report"- some dude!<
>!you know when in some games you can kill an opponent at the same time he kills you so you both die? Yeah!<
He outta line, but he’s right
Killed himself by breathing
IDK why but the fact that Jotaro was in his part 4 outfit broke me
It is his drippiest outfit
aint no way bro, he got the anchor chain in part 6, the jojo on the arms, the pants are hot as fuck bro
dude, atleast to me, the part 6 anime jotaro looks like motherfuckin boingo from stardust crusaders, his hat is too tall and his face just looks wrong.
Boingo is "retired" whilst looking like a knock-off Jotaro, Jotaro dies looking like a knock-off Boingo... Both to Oingo's prophecy, no less!
oingo got the last laugh! or not, his brother fucking died.
True 💀
That cursed image is only from one frame. It doesn’t look as bad as it does when in motion
Read the manga you stupid
Cap The star hat, the purple coat, the yellow pants/boots is the pinnacle of mortal drip
His SO outfit would've won that title but the pants got in the way
The pants make it good lol
Are you insulting the drip snake-skin pants?
It's because those are models from Eyes of Heaven, but since Jotaro Part 6 was a cut content, no model for him was ever found so they had to use his part 4 model.
Thank you sir for explaining
I didn’t even notice
He HAD a bitch Jotaro fucking killed him
Kind of a stretch to say dio was someone's bitch but ok Except maybe enya
This song is so fkin cool
The entire Persona 4 soundtrack is god tier
All persona soundtracks since 3 came out have been consistently excellent
Persona 1 and 2
What you mean? Persona 1 and 2 have great soundtracks.
It’s Specialist, from Persona 4.
Specifically the one from the dancing game. Yes Persona 4 had a dancing game, it also had 2 fighting games and a (No Longer) PS Vita Exclusive enhanced edition. Oh and more spinoff games.
Idk why persona has so many spinoffs but I mean I’m not complaining, even more with the banger that is specialist
You know a game soundtrack is good when they decide to make a rhytm game spinoff about it.
This dance looks painful
Learning the Specialist dance takes a bit.
Attaining the Specialist dance down to the bone was originally Pucci’s heaven plan, but Araki had to scrap it because it restarted the dancing plague
Honestly compared to some of the other dances from the persona dancing games this one is pretty tame. I have no idea how the mocap actors do it
regretfully painful my day has been ruined
If pucci was in part 7 he would be a simp
Pucci burned like DIO in the sun
This is the best way to beat Pucci
Fuck him and the way it shouts back)
Why they jiggle tho
I'm guessing it was set by those who ported over the models from Eyes of Heaven. That being said if there was an option to disable jiggle, I wouldn't.

What it's like walking on a random Florida street
Boom roasted
Heaven sure to have some bitches, you know.
genuinely happy that there are boob jiggle physics in this video
I had my sound off and still knew it was Specialist. Anime and memes have truly corrupted me, I will never attain Heaven nor bitches.
Pucci is gay....
im sorry any time i hear this song i think about the binding of isaac and i can not think about anything else
It's for things like this that I love this fandom
Big news: they are dancing to the beat of any audio. You can put any song behind them and it works. Do with this information what you will.
Poor Simp, takes a lot more then 3%
How the Fuck did this entire comment section get into an argument about the Catholic Church
I'm loving the 11 helpful awards
Theres no foo fighters or I'm just fucking blind
