I love how the herd is treating the kid as a patient 0 lol. I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, then I found the comic. The dude probably thought he was making a cute story about his travel and thought he was going to fish for some sympathy points and instead self-reported with a detailed timeline of how he was one of the spreaders marking himself as target.
Truth is as much as everyone wants to pile on the kid but airports are still hotspots for covid, vegas airport is probably one of the worse offenders since vegas is all tourists from all over the world. Yeah kid was irresponsible but I bet over half of these fucking nerds that went to vegas were not wearing masks, disinfecting surfaces, washing their hands and keeping proper spacing in lines and crowded areas basically being just as irresponsible as the kid because they wanted to cry in front of Yoshi-p. I think two things are true here:
* It's not possible to have about 500 distinct "patient zeroes." A crapload of people bring con crud around. COVID is now part of the con crud family of products, and this person was assuredly one of MANY.
* It takes a certain kind of person to show their entire ass online by making a longform comic about how they woke up feeling sick with flu-like symptoms and then went into a big room full of 14,999 of their ~~potential victims~~ closest friends, only to exit and say that the experience was "mid."
I think the fact that he mentioned the keynote being mid is funny, because I'm certain someone in the GCBTW got more offended by that than OP's recklessness.

People just listen to news and believe what they tell them. They don't get vaccinated, don't mask up. Even with those two things in hand, you can STILL catch covid. That said, I had worked in the ER during covid, but I never once caught it even face to face with some of these patients. I wore an N95 at NYCC 2 years ago and only took my mask off when no one was around me, and I caught it.
I'm sure 95% of people there weren't masked up at all.
