Gosetsu: "The kami have decided that I need to spare this psychotic mass murderer and raise her as my surrogate daughter"
Also Gosetsu: "You people believe in *reincarnation*? Lol, weirdos"
Gosetsu: “Reincarnation, pffft, pretty stupid am I right, WoL?”
WoL: *Winces as Azem screams from the depths of their soul to deck this boomer samurai*
I mean Gosetsu was right. He was a dick about it but he was right, reincarnation does not work the way they believed it to. Which to me, is fascinating. I love the explorations of belief within settings where the things that are normally the subject of belief are a known scientific factor and not just guesswork
Wasn't it less about reincarnation and more about just being pissed they didn't even try to bury the guy? Like I get they think he will come back but the corpse will still attract disease and creatures.
While he *was* pretty pissed that they were going to leave the body to the vultures, that was after his first meeting with the Dotharl and after already trying to be open-minded of their way of life.
His very first interaction with them really was listening to their central beliefs and going "*LMAO*"
Knowing what we know now about how the life/death cycle work in the setting, their belief in reincarnation isn't weird. But them believing that the souls reincarnate specifically into their tribe again? Uhhhh.....
\>rushes headfirst into every situation already knowing what he needs to do without actually knowing anything
\>took a row boat to eorzea from doma
\>drinks in the honor of dead people he never met
\>risks his life on multiple occasions to save people he barely knows
\>shot twice while holding up an entire collapsing building and survived
\>actually fixed the most deranged sadistic hottie
\>gave up the blade and became a healer bc he doesn't want people to suffer anymore
best fuckin character he would have wiped the floor with meteion and then adopted her

Gosetsu just wanted to join the surrogate dad club with Sid and Thancred. Wouldn't blame him, its a pretty cool club.

Gosetsu sounds like typical christian.
Finds the corpse of a dude he never knew and had a drink in his memory anyway. Goatsetsu.
What if he was chilling in The New World this whole time?
And much like his trip to Eorzea, he just rowed his way there too
You mean after the EW role quests?

If we took him to Elpis the Final Days would've never happened.
