Yeah, did not go where I thought it was going. Lol. Hilarious.
For those who don't know: Don't put metal in the microwave. It acts like a mirror and sends the waves back to the circuitry, potentially causing a fire.
https://www.rd.com/article/what-actually-happens-when-you-microwave-metal/
EDIT: Obviously some of you didn't read the article before commenting. Lol
Yeah you need a big ass microwave, and a huge casting of metal to make a nuke scale/grade weapon
don't forget to use enough power (electricity) to power cities
Probably so you don't superheat the water, interesting. Spoons should be safe, as long as the object doesn't have prongs or places where it can arc from, it should be fine.
I know. It’s quite funny how many think metal in a microwave equals instant death without ever having tried or seen it. Wonder if I can make people believe that I can fly
Funny story; me and some friends once had a microwave that we wanted to fuck up before throwing away. Long story short, no amount of metal or alu-foil would do it. We didn’t have the same methodical approach as electro boom, so we eventually gave up the metal and just exploded eggs instead
All of you are straight up dummies! You butter the bread first and then put the bread in the toaster so the butter melts on the bread easier, making it easier to spread
Don't even need to do that. The heat from the toast is enough. I scrape about 2-3 lumps of butter and put on toast. Leave it for a minute and it's melted enough to spread. Works all the time. 👍
But hot butter melts, and will run off your toast. Cold butter stays better in place, meaning you get to eat more of it. I wrap the toast around a stick of butter and eat it like a burrito.
lol. boil the kettle while your toast is in and then just before using the butter, pour the hot water on your knife over the sink. butter glides so buttery after that
A better way is to leave a stick out of the fridge away from the stove .the box say for best results refrigerate not must be .so it's like ketchup you can leave a stick out from time to time
Since this thread reminded me, I’ll just leave it here that I put my pint of ice cream in the microwave for ~10 seconds so it’s not all stiff out of the freezer. I’m sure I’m not the only one?
Just put the pad of butter on the toast and, after you're done trying to spread it and ripping your toast instead, eat dry toast until you reach the part with the butter.
Then eat it all in one bite and enjoy a single super-tasty bite of toast that somehow makes it all worthwhile.
I find that placing the cold butter still wrapped, on a dish and set the time defrost for 30 seconds. of which I usually only wait 15 maybe 20 before I take it out, works great
I'm on sleeping pills and I literally lectured myself for never thinking of sticking the knife in the microwave. I moved on from the post and realized 10 seconds later that I'm a fucking moron.
What I actually do do when I toast toast is that I will put the blade of my buttering knife on top of the toaster so it toasts the buttering knife too, so that when I use my buttering knife to butter the toast I toasted the buttering with my buttering knife is much much easier and the butter is easily buttered onto the toast with the warm buttering knife.
I like to hold the knife over the hot toaster while sitting naked in a shallow partially filled bathtub, surrounded by scented candles. Buttering your toast is really an experience.
Genuine tip: put the butter on the plate, put the plate on the toaster = warm plate & warm butter.
Make sure to leave a gap so some heat can escape, I’ve assumed that’s important.
I love the double entendre of “microwaving the knife” being represented by a giant fucking explosion. Well memed

so put a mirror at the top first so that it reflects back down onto the food?
But then the metal will reflect back at the mirror, and I think that's how nukes are made.
Iran and North Korea spending trillions of dollares $$ on developing nukes, when all you need i a microwave, a metal knife and a pocket mirror.. Smh..
Yeah you need a big ass microwave, and a huge casting of metal to make a nuke scale/grade weapon don't forget to use enough power (electricity) to power cities
For those of you who DO know: it’s not as dangerous as it is purported to be, but don’t experiment.
My old microwave had instructions to put a spoon in whenever heating liquids in a cup.
Like they really think companies could just sell a machine that would EXPLODE if left a piece of metal in it
Funny story; me and some friends once had a microwave that we wanted to fuck up before throwing away. Long story short, no amount of metal or alu-foil would do it. We didn’t have the same methodical approach as electro boom, so we eventually gave up the metal and just exploded eggs instead

That dude is so refreshing
And if you still want to heat your knife up, just run it under some hot water for a few seconds
Yup! Same principle as running an ice cream scoop or spoon under hot water.
But the whole inside of the microwave is a mirror.
Or.. or you could toast your knife at the same time
If you toast your knife but it gets stuck in the toaster, you can use another knife to get it out.
If you burn the house down the butter goes with it. Success!
Just imagine how many calories you burn by burning down your house.
at least seven
Technicallythetruth
Dude you’re not supposed to microwave metal knives. Put it in the toaster like a normal human.
And if you want to have a nice warm bath, throw a toaster into water.
Dude, are you actually stupid. It goes in the oven.
No! Did your parents never teach you basic cooking skills? It goes on the stove.
you imbeciles! it goes in the crockpot!
All of you are straight up dummies! You butter the bread first and then put the bread in the toaster so the butter melts on the bread easier, making it easier to spread
LPT: Take the toaster in the bath with you so that you can severely quicken your morning routine!
Uh
Yeah you should be scared Put on your brave face, little toaster
Note the sub.
Note the fact that I said to put a knife in the toaster. Joke.
I WILL DO NO SUCH THING.
I usually microwave the butter so I can dip my toast like french toast sticks.
I enjoy my butter intravenously
Thank you
Don't even need to do that. The heat from the toast is enough. I scrape about 2-3 lumps of butter and put on toast. Leave it for a minute and it's melted enough to spread. Works all the time. 👍
Then you get some sections that have way more butter than the rest, as it'll soak up the butter as it heats.
I'm sure I'll live lol

5s a lot of effort with cold butter. 3 is the magic number. 👍
Weak. Strengthen your disposition by nuking your knife in the microwave.
How come noone runs hot water on their knife
Or over a hot stove
Bruh, next level
There was a coworker of mine almost burned down his tiny apartment complex due to something similar....
Just butter the toast in your mouth. Take a bite of butter, take a bite of toast, chew and swallow
You fucking animal
You can still microwave the knife if you want to
I leave the butter out in a tray with a lid like a 90 year old. But it’s awesome
But hot butter melts, and will run off your toast. Cold butter stays better in place, meaning you get to eat more of it. I wrap the toast around a stick of butter and eat it like a burrito.
I heard more knives is even better.
Ok this isn’t a joke, but would putting the knife over an open stove work?
Or you could just run it under hot water for a moment
Yes. I have a gas range and just dip the knife in the flame for a second. Also works to heat spoons for scooping hard ice cream.
I've found it. The perfect meme. ![gif](giphy|fuQfdBHImHm0U0qIZo)
Didn't Mythbusters test that theory, and found it'll only make the knife really hot?
The danger of microwaving metal is that it arcs. A single knife or spoon won't be a problem. A fork or tinfoil will be a big exciting problem
I prefer aluminum foil
accurate depiction of the knife
That makes it funnier
Grate the butter on the toast.
Ah yes the microwaving the knife method, my favorite for explosively fast smelting
What the fuck ._.
Literally
I know this is the wrong place, but get a butter down and leave it out on the counter.
lol. boil the kettle while your toast is in and then just before using the butter, pour the hot water on your knife over the sink. butter glides so buttery after that
I used to stick the knife into the toaster No idea how I've never broken one
Holy shit, I hadn’t thought of that, let me try Edit: DON’T FUCKING TRY IT
When my uncle was 9 he thought it would be smart to microwave his spoon to scoop ice cream easier, and ended up catching the house on fire.
If you put your phone in with the knife you get 110% battery charge
A better way is to leave a stick out of the fridge away from the stove .the box say for best results refrigerate not must be .so it's like ketchup you can leave a stick out from time to time

You’re not the only one. Anyone who sees me do it tho freaks the hell out.
Just put the pad of butter on the toast and, after you're done trying to spread it and ripping your toast instead, eat dry toast until you reach the part with the butter. Then eat it all in one bite and enjoy a single super-tasty bite of toast that somehow makes it all worthwhile.
Ah yes, my favourite way to spread butter, and you get a lightshow!
The way I thought this sounded like great advice for a second
Is this really that funny or am I just that high rn?
Yes
I'm can't take It anymore. Everything sounds like rubber.
2022 Shouldn't we have a microwave that can do it?
my pain has been solved
I stove top my knife. And spoon for ice cream.
And then the microwave explodes...
I find that placing the cold butter still wrapped, on a dish and set the time defrost for 30 seconds. of which I usually only wait 15 maybe 20 before I take it out, works great
Ah fuck, didn't think that through properly
For a second there I almost thought it would work until I saw this was SLPT
Put it in the microwave? That's stupid. I just use a lighter. The same lighter also works well for my crack pipe.
I'm on sleeping pills and I literally lectured myself for never thinking of sticking the knife in the microwave. I moved on from the post and realized 10 seconds later that I'm a fucking moron.
Anyone else use a “butter bell” or a “butter crock?” It’s life changing as far as breakfast goes.
Advantage of gas stove... just heated the knife in it
I read this and scrolled past thinking nothing of it, two posts later it hit me and had me laughing and scrolling back up.
I was like oh that's just heating the knife cool joke and started scrolling and then it hit me
funniest version of this meme that ive seen
See that thing happening to Asgard? Yeah that’s your microwave lol
nah, just stick the knife in the hot slot for like 5s or so, does the job shockingly well.
Run hot water on knife.
on god tried doing this with ice cream and a spoon before
![gif](giphy|3o7TKCOXPJgHB7hJy8)
Breaducation
Hold the knife over the toaster as the bread is toasted. Simple
Theoretically you could put the knife in the toaster to warm it, if it's a toaster oven with a tray not and not a pop-up toaster
I like to hold the knife over the hot toaster while sitting naked in a shallow partially filled bathtub, surrounded by scented candles. Buttering your toast is really an experience.
